  • To introduce the typical water caves of the northeastern district in China, the Shenyang Water Cave located in the Shenyang city and the Benxi Water Cave located in the Benxi city of the Liaoning province of the northeastern part of China are presented. The caves are very big and long, and the water flows in the cave to drive the motor boat for tourist watching the beautiful sight in the caves through the year. The geological information and the beautiful internal sight of views in the caves are introduced.

  • Musan iron deposit in North Korea and iron deposits in Anshan-Benxi area in China are Archean banded iron formations and included in Longgang block in Eastern block of North China Craton. Host formations of Musan iron deposit and Anshan-Benxi iron mineralized belt are Musan group and Anshan group, respectively. These groups consist of magnetite-bearing quartzite, amphibolite, schist, and migmatite. Host rock of banded iron formation in Musan deposit and Anshan-Benzi mineralized belt is magnetite-bearing quartzite. Shape of ore bodies in Musan deposit is horse's hoof due to the fold while shape of orebodies in Anshan-Benxi mineralized belt is layer. The previous studies revealed the both of banded iron formations are contemporaneously deposited during the late Archean (Musan deposit and iron deposits in Anshan-Benxi area: 2.66-2.52 Ga and 2.55-2.53 Ga, respectively). Musan deposit and iron deposits in Anshan-Benxi mineralized belt belolng to Algoma type BIFs. In conclusion, the characteristics of geology, formation ages, and deposit types of Musan deposit and Anshan-Benxi minerlized belt are very similar.

  • To reach a better foundation treatment project, an optimized analysis of composite foundation was studied in the field of hydraulic engineering. Its unique characteristics in hydraulic engineering were concluded. And, the overall and detailed analysis of the composite foundation model established was carried out. The index parameters of the vertical reinforced rigid pile composite foundation were formulated. Further, considering the unique role of cushion in hydraulic engineering, its penetration and regularity were analyzed. Then, comparative and optimized analyses of cushion multistage physical dimensions and multistage material characteristics were established. The parameters of the piles distance were optimized and the multilevel scientific and reasonable parameters information was obtained. Based on the information of these parameters, the practical application was verified. It effectively supported the effective application of vertical reinforcement rigid pile composite foundation in hydraulic engineering. The service mechanism of composite foundation was fully analyzed.

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Hyperuricemic nephropathy is a common cause of acute kidney injury. Resveratrol can ameliorate kidney injury, but the explicit mechanism remains unclear. We investigated the effects of resveratrol on the inflammatory response and renal injury in hyperuricemic rats. MATERIALS/METHODS: A rat model of hyperuricemic nephropathy was established by the oral administration of a mixture of adenine and potassium oxinate. Biochemical analysis and hematoxylin and eosin staining were performed to assess the rat kidney function. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were performed to evaluate the immune and oxidative responses. RESULTS: The expression levels of urine albumin and β2-microglobulin were significantly decreased after resveratrol treatment. In addition, the levels of serum creatinine and uric acid were significantly decreased in the resveratrol groups, compared with the control group. The levels of proinflammatory factors, such as interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α, in kidney tissue and serum were also increased in the hyperuricemic rats, and resveratrol treatment inhibited their expression. Moreover, the total antioxidant capacity in kidney tissue as well as the superoxide dismutase and xanthine oxidase levels in serum were all decreased by resveratrol treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Resveratrol may protect against hyperuricemic nephropathy through regulating the inflammatory response.
