An experimental study on Bond strength of Reinforcing steel to High-performance Concrete using Belite Cement (Belite 시멘트를 이용한 고성능 콘크리트의 철근 부착성능 실험연구)

  • Bond strength of reinforcing bar to high-performance concrete using Belite cement is explored using beam end test specimen. The key parameters for the bond test are slump of concrete, top bar effect, and strength of concrete in addition to concrete covers. Specimen failed in the typical brittle bond failure splitting the concrete cover as the wedging action. The test results show that for the group with portland cement I using superplasticizer additional slump does not decrease the bond strength of the top bar is less than bond strength of bottom bar, but the top bar factor satisfy the modification factor for top reinforcement. The result also show that bond strength is function of square root of concrete compressive strength and cover thickness. More detailed evaluation will be conducted from the test specimen with high strength concrete using the belite cement.

  • The most recent building trend is going large, high rise, high strength as overlarge project is developing in domestic construction business. Belite cement has properties like low heat, excellent long term strength, and durability without admixture (fly ash, silica fume). So, Belite cement is suitable for mass structure which is needed high strength, high fluidity and low heat property. This study is to examine the possibility of site adoption microwave-use early strength estimation method. Based on the existed study related the portland cement, the interrelation between Belite cement and microwave-use early strength estimation method is required.

  • 본 연구에서는 고유동, 저발열 및 고강도 특성을 발현하는 belite-rich cement(BRC)에 있어서 카르복실산계 유기혼화제를 사용했을 때 가용성 알칼리의 함량 변화에 따른 흡착거동과 유동특성에 미치는 영향성에 대해 검토하였다. BRC에서 알칼리 0.1~0.2 wt% 및 알칼리 설페이트 0.3~0.5 wt% 첨가시 슬럼프가 증가하거나 손실이 거의 없었으며, 그 이상의 함량을 첨가하였을 때 다시 유동서 저하를 가져왔다. 그러나, 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트(OPC)의 슬럼프 유지능력은 알칼리 및 알칼리 설페이트를 첨가할수록 감소되었다.

Rheology Properties of Belite-rich Cement Mortar Added Blastfurnace Slag and Polycarbonate-based Superplasticizer (고로슬래그와 폴리카르본산계 유기 혼화제를 첨가한 Belite-rich Cement 모르타르 유동특성)

  • In order to investigate the rheological properties of belite-rich cement(BRC) added polycarbonate-based superplasticizer and blastfurnace slags which have different blaines at 4500, 6000 and 8000$\textrm{cm}^2$/g, the change of minislumps and mortar slumps are measured with time. The rheological properties improve as specific surface area of added slag decreases or amount of polycarbonate-based superplasticizer increases. The slump loss can be controlled effectively by the steric hinderance effect of polycarbonate-based superplasticizer. According to the results, when mix proportion of the mortar is 1.5% mass content of superplasticizer and 30% mass addition of blastfurnace slag which blaine is 4500$\textrm{cm}^2$/g, the best mortar slump can be achieved without any significant segregation of materials.

A Study on the Preparation of Modified Belite Cement Using Converter Slag (전로슬래그를 이용한 Modified Belite Cement의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • In order to prepare the modified belite (C2S-C4A3S-C4AF-CS) cement with low energy, clinkers were synthesized by converter slag, limestone, gypsum and clay. The synthesized clinkers were characterized and the hydration processes were investigated by XRD, SEM and microconduction calorimetry. The hydrates were mainly C-S-H and ettringite. The needle-like ettringite formed by the hydration of C4A3S at the early stage of hydration was filled in the inner vacant spaces of the hardened body and it might contribute to the rapid-hardening phenomena. The hardened body became stronger due to the hydration of C2S at the later period. The compressive strengths of the cement-3 mortars hydrated for 3, 7 and 28 days were 115, 128 and 211 Kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 석고형태에 따른 belite-rich cement(BRC)의 수화성상 및 혼화제의 흡착거동으로부터 시멘트의 유동성에 미치는 영향성을 조사하였다. 또한, 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트(OPC)의 경우와도 그 영향성을 비교 검토하였다. 유동특성을 측정한 결과, 폴리카르복실산계 혼화제 사용시 반수와 이수석고를 첨가한 BRC가 미니슬럼프 값이 약 $\pm$20cm 근방의 수치를 보였으며, 무수석고를 첨가한 것과 OPC에서는 낮은 슬럼프치를 보였다. 초기 수화의 경우, XRD와 DSC에서 Ca(OH)$_2$의 생성량의 정도가 BRC 2-C(반수)>BRC 1-C(이수)>BRC 3-C(무수)의 순서로 줄어들기 때문에 장기강도측면에서도 반수석고와 이수석고를 동시에 사용하는 것이 우수할 것으로 추정된다. 또한 이 결과는 비표면적의 데이터와도 일치함을 보였다.

An Experimental Study on the Construction Performances and Economical Evaluation of the Self-compacting Concrete by Cementitious Materials (결합재에 따른 자기충전 콘크리트의 시공성 및 경제성 평가에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the construction performances and economical evaluation of the self-compacting concrete in actual site work after selecting the optimum mix proportions according to cementitious materials. Slag cement type of 46.5% slag powder and belite cement of 51.4% $C_2S$ content, lime stone powder as binders are selected for site experiment including water cement ratio. Also, test items for optimum mix proportion are as followings ; (1) Slump flow, 500 mm reaching time, V-type flowing time and U-box height (2) Setting time, bleeding, shortening depth and adiabatic temperature rising (3) Mixing time in plant (4) Concrete quantity and cost, quality control in actual concrete work. As test results, (4) Optimum water-cement ratio ; Slag cement type 41.0% and belite cement 51.0% (2) Setting time and bleeding finishing time of slag cement are faster, bleeding content of slag cement is higher, shortening depth and adiabatic temperature rising of belite cement type are lower (3) Optimum mixing time in batcher plant is 75 seconds and concrete productive capacity is about $100{\sim}110m^3/hr$. (4) Belite cement type is lower than slag cement type in material cost 14.0%, and concrete quantity in actual concreting work save 3.3% in case of belite cement type. Therefore, self-compacting concrete of belite cement type is definitely superior to that of slag cement type in various test items without compressive strength development.

The Influence of P2O5 on the Clinker Mineral Composition and Cement Quality (P2O5가 클링커 광물조성 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The influence of $P_2O_5$ on clinker mineral composition and the cement quality was investigated. When the sewage sludge was used as a raw material in place of clay, the presence of $P_2O_5$ in sewage sludge affects the mineral composition and the clinker quality. As the $P_2O_5$ concentration in raw mix increases, the burnability of clinker becomes worse and the alite decomposes into belite and free-CaO, so belite increases with the decrease of alite. The early strength of mortar decreases with the increase of $P_2O_5$ concentration. On the other hand, later-age strength increases with the increase of belite content. The setting time of cement was delayed with the $P_2O_5$ concentration above 0.6 wt%.

Early Hydrationl of Modified Belite Cement Prepared by Adding Borax

  • By adding borax into the raw mix, Modified Belite Cement clinker and cements were prepared. Clinkerization and hydration reactions were investigated in order to better understand. Borax-bearing MBC clinker sintered at 1300℃ for 1 hour showed excellent burnability. Borax stabilized α'and β-C2S at room temperature. In the hydration of the cement prepared with the borax-bearing clinker, ettringite, monosulphate, C-S-H hydrates and CH were formed. The hydration of calcium sulphoaluminate was less reactive than the cement prepared with the controlled clinker at early hydration time. But, as hydration time elapsed, this cement showed more active hydraulicity and higher compressive strength development.
