Purpose. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting quality of sleep and sleep disturbance among inpatient. Methods. A descriptive correlational study was conducted Participants were 200 inpatient in a hospital located in B city. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Result. Hospitalized patient's score of sleeping quality was 38.26 on an overall scale of 60, indicating it to be higher than 'Medium (30 points). Almost hospitalized patient in this study suffer from sleep disturbances. As results of univariate analyses, Educational level, Departments, Why hospitalized, Insomnia / depression, Chronic Disease, Scale of pain, physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, and sleep promoting behavior, disturbed sleep among hospitalized. However, the result of stepwise multiple regression analysis identified that physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, sleep promoting behavior, and Why hospitalized disturbed sleep and were significant score of sleeping quality for hospitalized and these sleep disturbance factors accounted 46.8% of variance of sleeping quality among hospitalized. Conclusion. These findings suggest that hospitalized patients with poor sleep quality should have their health carefully screened for physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, sleep promoting behavior, and why hospitalized. In addition, we recommend the development of a nursing program for improving sleep quality.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe health problems and psychosocial adaptation in children with cancer and to determine the relationship between these two variables. Method: The data were collected from parents of 61 children with cancer, aged 4-11 years at one university hospital in Seoul. The instruments for this study were the Korea Child Behavior Check List (KCBCL) and a physical symptom checklist developed by the researchers. Result: The major health problems were coughing, sleeping disturbances, fatigue and weakness. The total behavior problem score for children in the cancer group was higher than the score for those in the norm group. The scores on the scales for withdrawal, somatic complaints, social immaturity, and internalizing problems were higher in the children with cancer compared to normative findings. Scores on social and school competence in the cancer group were lower than the norms for healthy children. The relationship between health problems and psychosocial adaptation was significant in the subscales of withdrawal, anxiety/depression, internalizing problems and social involvement in the off therapy group. Conclusions: This study shows the various areas that need further study in caring for children with cancer.

Objective: To describe the effectiveness of traditional Korean medicine (TKM) on a patient showing aggressive behavior after a traumatic brain injury. Methods: We used complex TKM treatments. The acupoints used were as follows: Soyangin Taegeuk acupuncture (HT3, KI3, and SP3) and acupoints frequently used in hemiparesis (GV20, GV24, ST4, LI11, LI4, ST36, GB34, SP9, and LR3). Moxibustion was also applied to GV20, and herbal medicine (Samulanshin-tang-gami, 四物安神湯 加味方) was administered. The efficacy was evaluated at baseline, week 8, and week 16 using the Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS). Results: After 8 weeks, the total MOAS score was decreased from 13 to 5, and this score was maintained until week 16. The average sleep time was increased and waking up during the night was decreased. Conclusions: We suggest that TKM could be effective for reducing aggressive behavior and alleviating sleep disturbances. Further studies are needed.

This study proposes a robust formation flight control technique of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) using behavior-based decentralized approach. The behavior-based decentralized method has various advantages because it utilizes information of neighboring UAVs only instead of information of whole UAVs in the formation maneuvering. The controllers in this paper are divided into two methods: first one is based on position and velocity of neighboring UAVs, and the other one is based on position of neighboring UAVs and passivity technique. The proposed controllers assure uniformly ultimate boundedness of closed-loops system under time varying bounded disturbances. Numerical simulations are performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A sliding mode fuzzy control (SMFC) with disturbance estimator is applied to design a controller for the third generation benchmark problem on an wind-excited building. A distinctive feature in vibration control of large civil infrastructure is the existence of large disturbances, such as wind, earthquake, and sea wave forces. Those disturbances govern the behavior of the structure, however, they cannot be precisely measured, especially for the case of wind-induced vibration control. Since the structural accelerations are measured only at a limited number of locations without the measurement of the wind forces, the structure of the conventional control may have the feed-back loop only. General structure of the SMFC is composed of a compensation part and a convergent part. The compensation part prevents the system diverge, and the convergent part makes the system converge to the sliding surface. The compensation part uses not only the structural response measurement but also the disturbance measurement, so the SMFC has a feed-back loop and a feed-forward loop. To realize the virtual feed-forward loop for the wind-induced vibration control, disturbance estimation filter is introduced. the structure of the filter is constructed based on an auto regressive model for the stochastic wind force. This filter estimates the wind force at each time instance based on the measured structural responses and the stochastic information of the wind force. For the verification of the proposed algorithm, a numerical simulation is carried out on the benchmark problem of a wind-excited building. The results indicate that the present control algorithm is very efficient for reducing the wind-induced vibration and that the performance indices improve as the filter for wind force estimation is employed.
During normal operating conditions, a motor vehicle is constantly subjected to a variety of forces, which can adversely affect its straight-ahead motion performance. These forces can originate both from external sources such as wind and road and from on-board sources such as tires, suspension, and chassis configuration. One of the effects of these disturbances is the phenomenon of vehicle lateral-drift during straight-ahead motion. This paper examines the effects of road crown, tires, and suspension on vehicle straight-ahead motion. The results of experimental studies into the effects of these on-board and external disturbances are extremely sensitive to small changes in test conditions and are therefore difficult to guarantee repeatability. This study was therefore conducted by means of computer simulation using a full vehicle model. The purpose of this paper is to gain further understanding of the straight-ahead maneuver from simulation results, some aspects of which may not be obtainable from experimental study. This paper also aims to clarify some of the disputable arguments on the theories of vehicle straight-ahead motion found in the literature. Tire residual aligning torque, road crown angle, scrub radius and caster angle in suspension geometry, were selected as the study variables. The effects of these variables on straight-ahead motion were evaluated from the straight-ahead motion simulation results during a 100m run in free control mode. Examination of vehicle behavior during straight-ahead motion under a fixed control mode was also carried out in order to evaluate the validity of several disputable arguments on vehicle pull theory, found in the literature. Finally, qualitative comparisons between the simulation results and the test results were made to support the validity of the simulation results.
The effects of external flow excitation with various frequencies and amplitudes on the flame behavior and pollution emission characteristics from a laminar jet flame are experimentally investigated. Measurements of $NO_x$ emission indices ($EINO_x$), performed in vertical lifted flame like turbulent with various exciting amplitude at a constant resonance frequency, have been conducted. It was also conducted to investigate the effects of excited frequency at a constant exciting amplitude on $NO_x$ emissions with a various frequency ranged 0 Hz to 2 KHz. From the vertical lifted turbulent flame of the excited jet with resonance frequency by strong excitation was shown that the dependence of $NO_x$ emission could be categorized into three groups Group I of long flame length with high disturbances yielding high $NO_x$ emission, Group II of intermediate flame length and relative narrow flame volume with low disturbance yielding low $NO_x$ emission and Group III of long flame length and large flame volume with high time & space disturbances behaviour yielding high $NO_x$ emission.
A general solution to the field equations of homogeneous isotropic generalized thermoelastic diffusion with two relaxation times (Green and Lindsay theory) has been obtained using the Fourier transform. Assuming the disturbances to be harmonically time.dependent, the transformed solution is obtained in the frequency domain. The application of a time harmonic concentrated and distributed loads have been considered to show the utility of the solution obtained. The transformed components of displacement, stress, temperature distribution and chemical potential distribution are inverted numerically, using a numerical inversion technique. Effect of diffusion on the resulting expressions have been depicted graphically for Green and Lindsay (G-L) and coupled (C-T) theories of thermoelasticity.

This paper presents the problem of controlling asynchronous sequential machines in the presence of input disturbances, which may be also regarded as an adversary in a game theoretic setting. The main objective is to provide necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a corrective controller that solves model matching problem of an asynchronous machine suffering from input disturbance. The existence condition can be stated in terms of a simple comparison of two skeleton matrices. The proposed controller eliminates the adversarial effect of input disturbance and makes the controlled machine mimic the behavior of a model in stable-state way. Whenever controller exists, algorithms for their design are outlined and demonstrated in a case study.

This paper presents the problem of controlling asynchronous sequential machines in the presence of input disturbances, which may be also regarded as an adversary in a game theoretic setting. The main objective is to develope a new methodology for including unpredictable behavior of input disturbance into models of asynchronous machines. The input disturbance, representing uncontrollable noise input, is embedded into a new model of asynchronous machines in form of input/state finite state machines. It is shown that the proposed modeling preserves the fundamental model and well-pose of asynchronous machines. The reachability matrix, an important performance index of asynchronous machines, is also adapted according to input disturbance and will be used for constructing corrective controllers in the companion paper.
