  • This paper considers a linear regression model with censored data where each error term follows a multivariate normal distribution. In this paper we consider the diffuse prior distribution for parameters of the linear regression model. With censored data we derive the full conditional densities for parameters of a multiple regression model in order to obtain the marginal posterior densities of the relevant parameters through the Gibbs Sampler, which was proposed by Geman and Geman(1984) and utilized by Gelfand and Smith(1990) with statistical viewpoint.

  • In this research, the performance of widely used Bayesian estimators such as Bayes estimator, empirical Bayes estimator, constrained Bayes estimator and constrained empirical Bayes estimator are compared by means of a measurement under balanced loss function for the typical normal-normal situation. The proposed measurement is a weighted sum of the precisions of first and second moments. As a result, one can gets the criterion according to the size of prior variance against the population variance.

  • When X and Y have independent gamma distributions, we consider the testing problem for two gamma means. We propose a solution based on a Bayesian model selection procedure to this problem in which no subjective input is considered. The reference prior is derived. Using the derived reference prior, we compute the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors. The posterior probability of each model is used as a model selection tool. Simulation study and a real data example are provided.

  • A Bayesian burn-in procedure is developed for imited failure populations in which defective items fail soon after they are put in operation and non-defective ones never fail during he technical life of the items. Sequential schemes guaranteeing pre-specified outgoing quality of a product are derived based on prior information on the quality of a product and accumulated failure information up to the decision point. A numerical example is also provided.

  • A model used in the past may be altered at will in modeling for the future. For this situation, the multiprocess dynamic model provides a general framework. In this paper we consider the multiprocess discount normal model with parameters having a time dependent non-linear structure. This model has nice properties such as insensitivity to outliers and quick reaction to abrupt changes of pattern.

  • In this paper, we estimate the proportion of individuals having health insurance in a given year for several small domains cross-classified by age, sex and other demographic characteristics using the data provided by the National Center for Health Statistics(NCHS). We employ Bayesian as well as frequentist methodology to obtain small domain estimates and the associated measures of precision. One of the new features of our study is that we utilize the survey weights along with the model to derive the small domain estimates.

  • In this paper, we develop noninformative priors that are used for estimating the reliability of stress-strength system under the Burr-type X distribution. A class of priors is found by matching the coverage probabilities of one-sided Bayesian credible interval with the corresponding frequentist coverage probabilities. It turns out that the reference prior is a first order matching prior. The propriety of posterior under matching prior is provided. The frequentist coverage probabilities are given for small samples.

  • In this paper we consider the proportional hazard models for survival analysis in the microarray data. For a given vector of response values and gene expressions (covariates), we address the issue of how to reduce the dimension by selecting the significant genes. In our approach, rather than fixing the number of selected genes, we will assign a prior distribution to this number. To implement our methodology, we use a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method.

  • In this paper, we develop the Bayesian test procedure for the intraclass correlation coefficient in the unbalanced one-way random effect model based on the reference priors. That is, the objective is to compare two nested model such as the independent and intraclass models using the factional Bayes factor. Thus the model comparison problem in this case amounts to testing the hypotheses $H_1:\rho=0$ versus $H_2:{\rho}{\neq}0$. Some real data examples are provided.
