  • This paper describes the design and implementation of previously developed PMU (Power Monitoring Unit) for LiPB (Lithium-ion Polymer Battery) that is electric propulsion used as unmanned aerial vehicle's power source. Improved PMU provides stable voltage and current to various sensors and elctric motors necessary during flight. Voltage and current monitoring function that is measured by improved PMU more precisely be enhanced and the monitoring channel and temperature sensor is added. • This paper proposes a simple MPPT control scheme of a Current-Control-Loop Error system Based that can be obtains a lot of advantage to compare with another digital control method, P&O and IncCond algorithm that is applied mostly a PV system. An existent method is needed an expensive processor such as DSP that calculated to change the measure power of a using current and voltage sensor at the once. Therefore, it is applied a small home power generation system that required many expenses. But, a proposed method is easy to solve the cost reduction and power unbalance problems that it is used by control scheme to limit error of a current control of common sensor. This proposed algorithm had verified through a simulation and an experiment on battery charger using PIC that is the microprocessor of a low price.

  • A hybrid switch that uses a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch as a gate driver of a MOSFET is applied to an energy harvesting system. The power management circuit adopting the hybrid switch provides ultralow leakage, self-referencing, and high current handling capability. Measurements show that solar energy harvester circuit utilizing the MEMS-MOSFET hybrid switch accumulates energy and charges a battery or drive a resistive load without any constant power supply and reference voltage. The leakage current during energy accumulation is less than 10 pA. The power management circuit adopting the proposed hybrid switch is believed to be an ideal solution to self-powered wireless sensor nodes in smart grid systems.

  • Recently, as the road capacity reaches the limit and environmental problems becomes serious, there is gradually increased a need for railroad vehicles that are environment-friendly and have time regularity, reliability and safety. Accordingly, in addition to conventional railroad vehicles, lots of vehicles are being newly developed. We developed the hardware and software of the measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of korean hish speed train. The software controls the hardware of the measurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. In this paper, we is studied for electric apparatus performance of railway vehicle using sensor. In order to this test is developed signal conversion system. Using this system, we obtained important result for pantograph voltage, battery voltage, axle speed, and running speed.

  • A new floating power supply for the current measurement system of a high voltage power line is developed. It is confirmed that, the current measurement system can stably transfer the signal of the power line current about 50 - 300 A by using the proposed power supply. The excellent characteristics are obtained by the steady-state and transient experiments of the proposed circuit. $\textbullet$ The right figure shows the external view of the trial measurement system for 6.6 kV. In order to see the inside, 120 degrees of the insulator is cut. The toroidal coil for the power supply and the Rogowskii coil for the current sensor are both divided into two and fixed on the power line as...$\textbullet$ The proposed circuit can supply +5V and -5V voltages without using a solar cell and/or a battery.

  • In wireless sensor network technology, which has been applied to various fields, the power supply and the power management of sensors are the most important issues. For this reason, a new concept of power supply and power management device is required. In this paper, we developed an autonomous independent power supply system that supplies the stable power to a sensor node without an additional external input by applying the energy harvesting technology using the electromagnetic induction principle by utilizing the current flowing in the transmission line. The proposed autonomous independent power supply system consists of a power supply using Power CT and a power management system including a charging circuit. The power management device uses a voltage limiter circuit and a monitoring circuit of charging voltage and current to ensure the safety of charging of the battery. In order to verify the performance of the proposed system, we applied it to the SVL diagnostic system and confirmed that it operates stably.

  • An efficient sensing scheme applicable to DC-DC converters is proposed. The output voltage of the DC-DC converter is fed back and converted to a current signal at the input terminal of the sensor to decide if it is in the tolerable range. The comparison is accomplished by a current push-pull action. With the embedded reference current in the sensor realized from the reference voltage. The advantages of the scheme lie in the fairly accurate and efficient implementation in terms of power consumption and chip size overhead compared with conventional voltage-mode schemes as the major parameter in converting voltage to current is determined by (W/L) aspect ratio of the core transistors. In this paper, a DC-DC converter of 5V output from battery range of 2.2V${\sim}$3.6V adopting the proposed sensing scheme is implemented in a 0.35um CMOS process to prove the validity of the scheme.
