With the purpose of developing a objective fitness evaluation system for knits, the basic bodice pattern for knit was drafted and the suitability of the altered pattern was evaluated. For each of nine different knits, six sleeveless shirts were made with patterns that were altered by different pattern alteration rate: 0%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, or 70% of the stretch rate of the knit. The panel that was composed of 25 clothing specialists evaluated the fitness of the garments. The distance from the dress form landmark to the garment landmark was measured from each experimental garment. And the results of garment fitness evaluation and the measurement of distance from the dress form landmark to garment landmark were compared. The results of this study are as follows: There was high correlation(r$\geq$0.9) between the evaluation of the panel about the garment fit and the landmarks distance. The stretch rate of knits affected the evaluation of the garment fit. The stretch rate in course of knits affected on the garment fit at crosswise direction. The suitable pattern alteration rate was lower than 30% for the knits with high stretch rate in course. It was concluded that in order to get the appropriate knit bodice pattern length, the front bodice pattern must be less shorten than the back bodice pattern. The alteration rate at hip line must be lower than for waist or bust line.

This study investigates the problems of fitness and motion suitability for Korean female military winter jackets (inner and outer) and provides data for new pattern development. We analyzed fitness and motion suitability by a questionnaire survey with 39 Korean female soldiers and a wearing evaluation with 8 subjects of the female soldeier's center size. The results of the study are as follows. 1. In the survey result on the fitness with female soldiers, fit of collar showed a score lower than 3.0 for the inner jacket and front interscye breadth, chest circumference, collar height on the outer jacket. The result on the motion suitability showed that both the inner jacket and the outer jacket were above 3.0 (moderate), indicating that the dissatisfactory factors were not large. 2. The wearing evaluation results with the subjects of central army female size, discomfort factor derived the chest circumference, neck circumference, item of the hem circumference and collar height on the outer jacket. This study is meaningful in evaluating the current military winter jacket of female soldiers and it is expected to be used as a basic data for future pattern improvement of military winter jacket for female soldiers.
This study is focused on the questionaries regarding the physiological comfort and body fitness and freedom of movement for clean room smock and intended to present the basic information in designing more comfortable clean room wear through seizing the discomfort of wearet. The study is designed to survey and analyze the actual wearing condition and its problem applied to 400 workers assigned with two semiconductors manufacturing plants. The result of survey are as follows. 1. Clean room workers bras panties running shirts and 내찬 the as basic underwear since they absorb sweat protect their bodies and make them feel safe and comfortable throughtout the whole year. 2. With regard to body fitness most of the subject assessed it to be suitable but the girth of neck waist and hood is founded to be tight in many cases. 3. Most important selecting criteria of clean room smocks are adaptability of movement body fitness and carrying-ability. Most of repondents prefer side zipper and rib-knitted fabric as the fastening system. 4. As for freedom of movement it is disclosed that the subjects showed more or less of their complaints against its wearing easiness for parts of waist neck armpit and slacks adaptability and adaptability of movement.

In many optimal methods for the structural design, the structural analysis is performed with the given design parameters. Then the design sensitivity is calculated based on its structural anaysis results. There-after, the design parameters are changed iteratively. But genetic algorithm is a optimal searching technique which is not depend on design sensitivity. This method uses for many design para- meter groups which are generated by a designer. The generated design parameter groups are become initial population, and then the fitness of the all design parameters are calculated. According to the fitness of each parameter, the design parameters are optimized through the calculation of reproduction process, degradation and interchange, and mutation. Those are the basic operation of the genetic algorithm. The changing process of population is called a generation. The basic calculation process of genetic algorithm is repeatly accepted to every generation. Then the fitness value of the element of a generation becomes maximum. Therefore, the design parameters converge to the optimal. In this study, the optimal design pro- cess of a machine tool structure for static loading is presented to determine the optimal base supporting points and structure thickness using a genetic algorithm.
The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze domestic fashion education institution's program on apparel prototype and thereupon, address the problems and find their solutions, and thereby, provide for some basic data useful to improve the basic patterns of apparel and ultimately, help reinforce the professional and practical apparel design education. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. 85.1% of the subjects finished graduate or higher courses. Almost all of the college and junior college teachers finished graduate or higher courses, while only 31.6% of those teaching at technical institutes finished graduate or higher courses. Such a finding suggests that colleges tend to employ their faculty members based on their academic background but that technical institutes value the practical ability of their faculty more. 2. As a result of surveying the types of basic patterns used by teachers, it was found that 72.3% of them were using two or more patterns. The basic pattern preferred most by our teachers was Japanese culture institute's type (71.3%), followed by the US FIT type (24.5%), Lim Won-Ja's type (22.3%), French ESMOD type (17.0%). 96.3% of our apparel design students were making their basic patterns as instructed by their teachers. 3. 67.0% of our students were using their conceived sizes for production of their basic patterns, 14.9% were referring to the ready-made sizes, 8.5% were relying on their teachers' individual experiences, and 9.6% were using their own cord sizes. In order to survey the difference between teachers' sizes (ready-made sizes or individual experienced ones) and business sizes used, the basic body measurements used for ready-made apparels were surveyed to be compared with the national standard body sizes set in 1997 for women aged between 18 and 24. As a result, it was found that the ready-made sizes used for apparel production prototypes than teachers' ones were nearer the national standard sizes. Such a finding suggests that it may well be necessary for teachers to be more connected with the apparel businesses and thereby, teach their students in a more realistic way with correct information. 4. 83.0% of the subject teachers were tacking their basic patterns to be well fitting, and 76.9% of these teachers were tacking the patterns in reference with students' individual body sizes. In all, 97.4% of the subject teachers were guiding the tacking process, which suggests that the flat patternmaking is taught primarily for customized apparels. As a result of comparing the fitness of basic patterns with those of each body part, it was found that teachers were most dissatisfied with the fitness of shoulders and arm hole depth. Therefore, it will be necessary to reclassify the body types or find other drawing techniques to improve the fitness of such body parts. Nevertheless, teachers were willing much (4.18) to develop their own educational basic patterns for themselves. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will be followed up by future studies on educational prototypes covering diverse body shapes and those on practical implementations of those prototypes for students.
This study performed to provide the basic information about the effects of the health management importance awareness on the occupational performance and basic fitness for the people with intellectual disabilities. 16 people with intellectual disabilities participated in muscle strengthening exercise. To assess health management importance awareness, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure was used to identify the importance of the health management. According to the results of the importance, they were divided into two groups: Extreme and Neutral Importance Group in order to analyze the changes of the occupational performance and basic fitness. In-group analysis of the performance, satisfaction level, strength, and flexibility found that all measures improved in both groups following completion of the program. Between-group analysis following completion of the program indicated group differences in the performance and satisfaction level, but no group differences were found in the muscle strength and flexibility. Thus, this study showed the positive effects from the results of the program participation targeting the people with intellectual disabilities, and highlighted the importance of the awareness for them regarding the need for the health management (as evidenced by the improvement in occupational performance). It is expected that effective health management through participation in programs such as this will help maintain a healthy lifestyle and contribute to improve the quality of life.
The present study explored how 1) individuals' perception about attributes of exercise/fitness apps and 2) their motivation for exercise/fitness behaviors influence perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. A survey of 323 males and females in their 20's and 30's revealed that attributes of apps that satisfy their basic psychological needs are crucial in promoting perceived usefulness and usage of the apps. Participants were more likely to perceive exercise/fitness apps useful as they perceive them having more attributes related to autonomy and competence. The perception regarding relatedness attributes did not have the main effect on perceived usefulness but showed an interaction effect with relative autonomous motivation. This convergence study which examined health apps from the perspectives of psychology and public health provides practical implications to development and evaluation of health apps.

The main purpose of this thesis was to provide a basis to investigate the effectiveness of regular exercises on basic physical fitness for middle school students. 40 second graders from a middle school were chosen randomly and divided into 4 groups-wrestling group, basketball group, jogging group, and control group. The first three groups have been trained 4 times per week for 18 weeks after class to be compared with the comparison group. Pre and post measurements of physical fitness of the subjects were processed by means of the SPSS program. The average and the standard deviation of the measurements of each group were covered with the ANOVA test, according to the periods and the types of training. Duncan's Multiple Range Test was performed to identify the significance of the relationship between training period and improvement in basic sports ability. The conclusions as follows; 1. In the 50 meter sprint, only the wrestling group showed statistical significance, while the other groups showed gradual progress in general. 2. In the standing long jump, there is no group that showed any improvement. 3. In the forward flexion of the trunk, no significance was to be found. 4. In 30-second sit-ups, the wrestling group showed statistical significance. The wrestling group made greater progress than the other groups, and the basketball group and the jogging group also showed rather great progress. 5. In push-ups, statistical significance was found in the groups of wrestling, basketball, and jogging. And the wrestling group came in first, the basketball group second, and the jogging group third on the progress level. 6. In the distance run, the jogging group showed statistical significance and the jogging group made considerable progress. Steady improvement was to be found in the groups of wrestling and basketball.
This study investigated domestic and foreign cycle wear sizing systems for the domestic market and provided basic data for development of a high functional cycle wear with excellent fitness qualities. Each brand was found to have different dimension items and different sizes as well as size deviation and range according to each item. Therefore, a size selected by referring to the dimension items would be expected to have confusion when selecting a size. Domestic brands are able to selects sizes relatively easily because they suggest sizes mainly by height and weight (which are a universal size). However, the development of a sizing system for domestic cycle wear brands is needed because each brand have different sizes according to its dimension items. Foreign brands are also different from domestic brands in size marking items and sizes according to items. Therefore, the establishment of a sizing system standard for foreign brands is necessary because there could be a problem with fitness in the same sizes selected for domestic brands. Cycle wear is also able to cover various body types due to the elasticity of its material; however, and evaluation of fitness and a follow-up study will be necessary to develop cycle wear with a fitness that is proper for a Korean body type.
