한국 속화(俗畵)(민화(民畵))에 표현된 식물의 상징성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Plant Symbolism Expressed in Korean Sokwha (Folk Painting))

  • 속화(俗畵 또는 민화(民畵)) 속의 도입요소를 대상으로 식물의 상징성을 추적한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 우리 민족의 토속성 짙은 그림이자 상징적 의미를 담고 있는 '속화(俗畵)'라는 용어는 고려시대 이규보(1268~1241)의 '동국이상국집'에서 발견할 수 있고, 그리고 조선시대 초기 '속 동문선'과 강희맹(1424~1483)의 '사숙재집', 조선시대 후기의 '일성록(1786)', 유한준(1732~1811)의 '자저(自著)', 이규경(1788~?)의 '오주연문장전산고(五洲衍文長箋散稿)' 등에서 다양하게 추적할 수 있다. 특히, 이규경의 '오주연문장전산고' 인사편 서화(書畵)의 제병족속화변증설에 의하면 "민간에서 속화라고 불렀다"라는 기록이 발견된다. 2. 시대사적으로 한국의 속화는 농경문화의 자연관을 원초적으로 반영한 선사시대를 거쳐, 우주관을 반영하고 영혼불멸의 사상을 채색화 형태로 표현한 삼국시대, 추상적인 도형과 초자연적인 무늬를 공간 속에 상징화시켜 종교적으로 표현한 고려시대, 그리고 자연관, 심미적 가치, 상징성 등이 복합적으로 작용되어 대중화되고 한국 고유의 정체성으로 자리매김한 조선시대 등 시계열적 변화과정을 추적할 수 있다. 3. 한국의 속화 1,009점을 대상으로 분석한 소재는 식물요소 35종, 동물요소 37종, 자연요소 6종, 기타요소 5종등 총 83종이 출현하고 있다. 4. 속화에 표현된 식물 요소의 미학적 분석에 따른 형태미의 경우 모란도는 음양오행의 원초적 세계관을, 매화도는 역동적인 운치와 생태적인 조화원리를, 구도미의 경우 책가도는 복합 다시점 구도이면서도 강한 주목성을, 병화도는 역원근법에 의한 색의 강한 대비를, 독서여가도는 직선과 사선을 이용하여 자연과 인공요소의 질서정연한 균제미를 담백하게 표현하고 있다. 한편 색채미의 경우 오방색(동(東), 서(西), 남(南), 북(北), 중앙(中央)) 또는 오채색(적(赤), 청(靑), 황(黃), 백(白), 흑색(黑色))의 경우 주술적 또는 종교적으로 활용하거나 자연법칙과의 상관관계를 상징적으로 대입시키고 있다. 5. 한국 속화에 등장하는 각 요소들의 도입방식은 단순한 자연계 형태 모방을 뛰어 넘어 우주 내에 존재하는 본질의 의경을 통해 회화적 예술성을 바탕으로 자연관과 접목된 '상징성'으로 승화시켰다. 즉, 한국의 속화에서 추적할 수 있는 동 식물의 '상징성'은 종교적, 사상적, 생태적, 철학적 측면이 복합적으로 작용되어 자유 분망하면서도 독특한 표현으로 과학적 인식체계가 아닌 상징적 인식체계로, 현재 속에 과거와 미래가 공존하는 우리 민족의 집단적 문화 정체성으로 나타났다. 따라서 한국의 속화(또는 민화)는 우리 민족의 문화적 정체성이라 할 수 있으며, 우리 민족의 생활문화 속에 자연스럽게 배어든 자연관이자 토속성 짙은 의미경관요소로 해석할 수 있는 것이다. 그러나 우리 민족의 생활문화 속에 뿌리 깊게 배어 있었던 속화는 시대적 변천과정을 거쳐 그 의미와 감정이 현격히 퇴색되었다. 오늘날 주거생활이 아파트문화로 전이되고 가치관의 혼돈이 심화되는 시대적 상황 속에서 속화가 갖는 미학적, 상징적 가치는 정신적 풍요를 건전하게 지켜주는 상징 자산으로 전승되어 우리의 정체성으로 자리매김해야 하는 당위성을 갖는다고 하겠다.

보물 청자 투각고리문 의자의 해체 및 복원 (Dismantling and Restoration of the Celadon Stool Treasure with an Openwork Ring Design)

  • 청자 투각고리문 의자는 4점 일괄유물로 경기도 개성에서 출토된 것으로 전해진다. 청자 의자는 고려시대 당시 청자 제작기술의 우수성과 화려한 생활상을 보여주는 등 미술사적으로 가치가 높아 보물로 지정 관리되어 왔다. 그러나 일괄유물 중 1점의 경우 과거 수리 복원된 것으로, 처리 재료의 열화, 처리자의 미숙함 등으로 인해 미적가치가 하락되었고, 구조적으로 불안하여 재처리의 필요성이 제기되었다. 처리 전 보존상태를 조사한 결과, 물리적 손상은 전반적으로 제조상 결함부위를 중심으로 인위적 손상이 가중되어 구조적으로 취약한 상태를 보였다. 균열부위 및 탈락된 편은 접합면이 맞지 않고 접착제가 청자 표면에 흐른 자국과 접착제 표면에 분진 등 2차적 오염물이 생겨 변질된 상태였다. 수리복원 상태를 조사하기 위해 자외선과 확대현미경을 이용하여 균열부의 접합 부위의 위치와 범위, 상태를 파악하였다. 적외선분광 분석(FT-IR)과 휴대용 X-선 형광분석을 실시하여 보존처리에 사용한 재료를 분석한 결과, 접착제로 셀룰로오스계 수지와 에폭시계 수지가 사용된 것을 확인하였다. 또한 일부 힘을 받는 접합부위에서는 접합강도를 높이기 위해 접착제에 석고(CaSO4·2H2O) 또는 골분(Ca10 (PO4)6(OH)2)을 첨가한 것을 알 수 있었다. 상태조사 결과를 바탕으로, 유물의 보존처리는 기존 접합된 상태에서 전면 해체하고 물리적으로 취약한 부분을 중심으로 접합·복원을 통해 보강하는데 중점을 두었다. 기존에 사용된 접착제를 제거하고 해체한 결과, 청자 의자는 크게 상부와 하부, 굽다리, 일부 고리 문 등 총 6개 편으로 분리되었다. 해체 후 접합면에 남아 있는 잔류 접착제 및 오염물은 화학적 및 물리적으로 제거하고 스팀세척기로 파단면 세척을 통해 재접합의 효율을 높였다. 유물의 접합은 접합부위와 크기에 따라 접착제를 다르게 적용하였다. 편의 위치만 고정하는 접합부에는 시아노아크릴계 수지 Loctite® 401을 사용하고 구조적으로 안정화시키는 부분에는 가역성을 위해 아크릴계 수지인 Paraloid® B-72 20%(in xylene)로 단면처리한 후 에폭시계 수지 Epo-tek® 301-2를 이용하여 접합하였다. 상·하부 접합 같이 힘을 받는 부위는 Epo-tek® 301-2에 Kaolin을 첨가하여 접합강도를 보강하였다. 연속되는 문양으로 추정 가능한 고리문의 결실 부분은 SN-Sheet로 뼈대를 만들고 Wood epos®로 파손단면을 연결하여 모델링하면서 고리문을 복원하였다. 그 외 접합하면서 생긴 복원 부위는 심미적 및 구조적 안정화를 위해 Wood epos®로 메움처리하였다. 복원부위 및 메움처리한 부분은 추후 전시활용에 있어 이질감이 없도록 색맞춤하였다. 다양한 과학기술을 활용한 조사와 처리과정은 체계적으로 기록하여 보존 관리하는데 기초자료로 활용하도록 하였다.

김제만경평야(金堤萬頃平野)의 답토양특성(沓土壤特性)과 그 분류(分類)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Characteristics and classification of paddy soils on the Gimje-Mangyeong plains)

  • 우리나라 답토양(畓土壤)에 대(對)한 토지(土地)의 합리적(合理的) 이용(利用), 토지기반조성(土地基盤造成) 및 생산성 향상(向上) 그리고 토양(土壤)에 관(關)한 조사연구(調査硏究)의 방향(方向)을 뒷받침하기 위(爲)하여 김제만경평야(金堤萬頃平野)에 분포(分布)하고 있는 답토양(畓土壤)에 대(對)한 형태(形態) 및 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性) 그리고 그와 수도수량(水稻收量)과의 관계(關係)를 구명(究明)하고 이를 기초(基礎)로 하여 답토양(沓土壤)의 분류법(分類法)과 적성등급구분(適性等級區分)을 시안(試案)하였는 바 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 답토양(畓土壤)의 형태(形態), 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性) 및 그와 수도수량(水稻收量)과의 관계(關係) 김제(金堤) 만경평야(萬頃平野)에 분포(分布)하고 있는 15개(個) 답토양통(畓土壤統)에 대(對)하여 이들 토양(土壤)의 형태(形態), 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性)을 보면 다음과 같다. 토양단면(土壤斷面)의 발달정도(發達程度)를 보면 공덕(孔德), 김제(金堤), 만경(萬頃), 백구(白鷗), 봉남(鳳南), 부용(芙蓉), 수암(水岩), 전북(全北), 지산(芝山) 및 호남통(湖南統)는 B(Cambic B)층(層)이 있고 극락(極樂)과 화동통(華東統)은 Bt(Argillic B)층(層)이 있으나 광활(廣活), 신답(新踏) 및 화계통(華溪統)에는 B층(層) 혹(或)은 Bt층(層)이 없다. 특(特)히 공덕(孔德) 및 봉남통(鳳南統)은 흑니층(黑尼層)이 심토(心土) 하부(下部)에 개재(介在)되여 있다. 토양단면(土壤斷面)의 토색(土色)을 보면 공덕(孔德), 광활(廣活), 백구(白鷗) 및 신답통(新踏統)은 대체(大體)로 청회색(靑灰色), 암회색(暗灰色)을 띄우고 김제(金堤), 만경(萬頃), 봉남(鳳南), 부용(芙蓉), 수암(水岩), 전북(全北), 지산(芝山) 및 호남통(湖南統)은 회색(灰色), 회갈색(灰褐色)을 띠우며 극락(極樂), 화계(華溪) 및 화동통(華東統)은 표토(表土) 및 표토하부(表土下部)의 회색(灰色)을 제외(除外)하고 황갈색(黃褐色), 갈색(褐色)을 띠운다. 토양단면(土壤斷面)의 토성(土性)을 보면 공덕(孔德), 극락(極樂), 김제(金堤), 봉남부용(鳳南芙蓉), 호남(湖南) 및 화동통(華東統)은 식질(埴質)이고 백구(白鷗), 전북(全北) 및 지산통(芝山統)은 식양질(埴壤質) 혹은 미사식양질(微砂埴壤質)이며 광활(廣活), 만경(萬頃) 및 수암통(水岩統)은 미사사양질(微砂砂壤質) 그리고 신답(新踏) 및 화계통(華溪統)은 사질(砂質) 혹은 석력사질(石礫砂質)이다. 표토(表土)의 탄소함량(炭素含量)은 0.29%~2.18% 범위(範圍)에 있으나 1.0~2.0%인 것이 많으며 표토(表土)의 전질소함량(全窒素含量)은 0.03%~0.24% 범위(範圍)에 있다. 이들은 심토(心土) 혹은 기층(基層)으로 갈수록 감소(減少)되는 경향(傾向)이나 불규칙적(不規則的)이다. 표토(表土)의 탄질비(炭窒比)는 4.6~15.5 범위(範圍)인데 8~10인 것이 많으며 심토(心土) 및 기층(基層)에서는 표토(表土)에 비(比)하여 그 범위(範圍)가 커서 3.0~20.25이다. 토양반응(土壤反應)은 pH4.5~8.0 범위(範圍)에 있으나 광활(廣活) 및 만경통(萬頃統)을 제외(除外)하고는 모두 산성(酸性)이다. 염기치환용량(鹽基置換容量)은 표토(表土)에서는 5~13 me/100g 범위(範圍)이며 심토(心土) 및 기층(基層)에서는 사질토양(砂質土壤)을 제외(除外)하고 모두 10~20 me/100g 범위(範圍)에 있다. 염기포화도(鹽基飽和度)는 공덕(孔德) 및 백구통(白鷗統)을 제외(除外)하고는 모두 60% 이상(以上)이다. 표토(表土)의 활성철함량(活性鐵含量)은 0.45~1.81% 범위(範圍)이고 역환원성(易還元性)망간은 15~148ppm 범위(範圍)이며 유효규산은 36~366ppm 범위(範圍)에 있다. 이들 3성분(成分)의 용탈(溶脫) 및 집적(集積)은 토양배수(土壤排水), 토성조건(土性條件)에 따라 다르지만 대체(大體)로 10~70cm 범위(範圍)에 집적(集積)하고 있으나 규산(珪酸)은 경우(境遇)에 따라 철(鐵), 망간 보다 깊은 층위(層位)에 집적(集積)되여 있다. 각(各) 토양통(土壤統)의 주요특성(主要特性)은 해안(海岸)에서 부터 거리에 따라 점변(漸變)하고 있으며 점토(粘土), 유기탄소(有機炭素) 및 pH는 해안(海岸)으로 부터 내륙(內陸)으로 옮겨가는 거리와 다음과 같은 상관(相關)이 있다. y(표상(表上)의 점토함량(粘土含量)) = $$-0.2491x^2+6.0388x-1.1251$$ y (심토(心土) 및 표토하부(表土下部)의 점토함량(粘土含量)) = $$-0.31646x^+7.84818x-2.50008$$ y(표토(表土)의 유기탄소함량(有機炭素含量)) = $$-0.0089x^2+0.2192x+0.1366$$ 로서 내륙(內陸)으로 갈수록 높아지는 경향(傾向)이며 y(심토(心土) 및 표토하부(表土下部)의 pH) = $$0.0178x^2-0.4534x-8.353$$ 로서 내륙(內陸)으로 갈수록 낮다. 토양(土壤)의 형태(形態) 및 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性)에 있어 특기(特記)되는 것은 토양(土壤)의 발달도(發達度), 토색(土色), 모재(母材)의 다원적(多元的) 퇴적(堆積), 유기물층(有機物層)의 개입(介入), 토성(土性) 및 토양반응(土壤反應) 등(等)이였으며 이들은 답토양(畓土壤)의 분류(分類)에서 고려(考濾)되여야 할 사항(事項)이였다. 토양(土壤)의 몇가지 특성(特性)과 수도수량(水稻收量)과의 관계(關係)에서 토양배수(土壤排水)가 약간양호(若干良好) 내지(乃至) 불량(不良)한 식질토(埴質土), 양질토(壤質土) 그리고 유효심도가 낮은(50cm) 식질토(埴質土)들은 수량(收量)이 대부분(大部分) 10a당(當) 375kg 이상(以上)이며 사질토(砂質土), 배수(排水)가 양호(良好)한 식질토(埴質土), 유효심도가 낮은 양질토(壤質土) 및 함염토(含鹽土)들은 수량(收量)이 대부분(大部分) 10a당(當) 375kg미만(未滿)이다. 수도수량(水稻收量)에 영향(影響)을 미치는 토양(土壤)의 형태적(形態的) 특성(特性)은 토양배수(土壤排水), 토성(土性), 유효심도, 표토(表土) 및 표토하부(表土下部)의 회색화(灰色化) 그리고 염농도(鹽濃度) 등(等)이며 이들은 답토양(畓土壤)의 적성등급구분(適性等級區分)에서 고려(考慮)되여야 할 사항(事項)이였다. 2. 답토양(畓土壤)의 분류(分類) 및 적성등급구분(適性等級區分) 답토양(畓土壤)의 분류기준(分類基準)은 토양(土壤) 자체(自體)가 가지고 있는 성질(性質)에 근거(根據)를 두었다. 토양분류단위(土壤分類單位)는 토양대군(土壤大群), 토양군(土壤群), 토양아군(土壤亞群), 토양계(土壤系) 그리고 토양통(土壤統)의 5단계(段階)를 두고 분류(分類)의 기본(基本) 단위(單位)는 토양통(土壤統)으로 하였다. 토양분류(土壤分類)에 있어 형태적(形態的) 특성(特性)의 차이(差異)를 결정(決定)하기 위(爲)하여 2종류(種類)의 특징토층(特徵土層) 즉(卽) 숙성토층(熟成土層) 및 반숙토층(半熟土層)을 설정(設定)하여 이들의 유무(有無) 및 종류(種類)를 토양대군(土壤大群)의 분류기준(分類基準)으로 하였다. 토양군(土壤群) 및 토양아군(土壤亞群)의 분류(分類)에 있어 고려(考慮)되여야 할 특징적(特徵的) 토양특성(土壤特性)은 우선(于先), 토색(土色), 염농도(鹽濃度), 표토(表土) 및 표토(表土) 하부(下部)의 회색화(灰色化), 토사(土砂)의 다원적(多元的) 퇴적(堆積) 그리고 유기물층(有機物層)의 개입(介入)으로 하였으며 토양계(土壤系)의 분류(分類)에서 고려(考慮)한 토양특성(土壤特性)은 토양반응(土壤反應), 토성(土性) 및 석력함량(石礫含量)에 근거(根據)를 두어 분류(分類)하는 한편 이들에 대(對)한 정의(定義)를 내렸다. 그리고 필자(筆者)의 시안(試案)과 기존(旣存)의 분류안(分類案)을 상호비교(相互比較)하여 검토(檢討)하였다. 답토양(畓土壤)의 적성등급구분(適性等級區分)은 인위적(人爲的) 작용(作用)에 의(依)한 가변성(可變性)이 적은 토양특성(土壤特性)을 토대(土臺)로 하였으며 등급구분단위(等級區分單位)는 등급(等級) 및 아급(亞級)의 2단계(段階)를 두었다. 등급(等級)은 토양(土壤)의 잠재생산력(潛在生産力)이 어느 주어진 단위(範圍)에서 같고 토지이용(土地利用) 및 관리(管理)의 난이(難易)를 고려(考慮)한 토양조건(土壤條件)에 따라 1급(級)에서 4 급지(級地)까지의 4 등급(等級)으로 구분(區分)하였고 아급(亞級)은 동일등급내(同一等級內)에서 중요(重要)한 제한인자(制限因子)로 하였으며 그 인자(因子)는 경사(傾斜), 저염(低濕), 사질(砂質) 석력(石礫), 염해(鹽害), 미력(美熟)이다. 이들 등급(等級) 및 아급(亞級)을 각각(各各) 정의(定義)를 하였으며 아울러 분류시안(分類試案)과의 연관성(連關性)을 검토(檢討)하였다. 김제(金堤) 만경평야(萬頃平野)의 15개(個) 답토양통(畓土壤統)의 분류(分類) 및 적성등급(適性等級) 구분시안(區分試案)을 종합(綜合)하여 보면 다음과 같다.

증류주(蒸溜酒) 숙성(熟成)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) 제1보[第一報]-사과 증류주(蒸溜酒) 숙성(熟成)에 있어서 숙성통재(熟成桶材)로서 한국산(韓國産) 참나무 품종별(品種別) 이용적성(利用適性)에 관(關)하여- (Studies on Fine Spirits Aging [Part I]-On the Aptitude of the Korean Oak Varieties as Barrels for Aging Apple Fine Spirits-)

  • 사과 증류주(apple One spirit) 숙성에 있어서 국산 참나무의 품종이 fine spirit숙성 술통재로서의 적성여부를 검토하는 기초적 연구의 일환으로 본 연구를 실행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 양조 원료를 대체 할 수 있는 과실로서 현재 대량생산 되는 과실의 화학분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 사과 : (Apple) (Malus pumila Miller var domestica Schneider) 중 홍옥(Jonathan)은 총당 13.95%, 총산 0.46%, 휘발산 0.012%, pectin 0.20%, 국광(Ralls)은 총당 13.35%, 총산 0.43%, 휘발산 0.011%, pectin 0.455%이었다. 2. 사과중에는 당분과 산 이외에 cellulose, pectin, hemicellulose 등 때문에 사과즙수을이 떨어짐으로 Aspergillus niger SUAFM-430의 xylanase와 amylase, Aspergillus niger SUAFM-6의 cellulase, pectinase를 사과즙에 처리하여 사과즙의 수율을 향상시켰다. 그리고 이황산 처리로 과즙중 여러 미생물을 살균하고 배양효모로서 발효능이 우수한 sacharomyces cerevisiae var. ellipsoidens Rasse Johannisberg II (SUAFM-1018)을 사용하여 사과주를 양조하였다. 사과주(Apple wine)는 원료에 대한 수율이 $86{\sim}87%$이고 Jonathan, Ralls가 ethanol 13.5%, extract분 5.4%, methanol $0.04{\sim}0.05%$이었다. 3. 사과주의 증류수(fine spirit) 제조는 단식증류법(Pot still)으로 2회 증류로서 실험하였다. 사과(apple) fine spirit는 apple wine mash에 대한 수율이 86.6%이고, 홍옥(Jonathan) fine spirit는 pH 4.1, 국광(Ralls) fine spirit는 pH 4.2이었다. 4. 사과주를 증류하여 제조한 fine spirit를 숙성시키기 위하여 국산 참나무 24품종을 나무의 심재(心材) (Inner part)와 변재(邊材) (Outer part)를 사용하여 fine spirit의 숙성융통제를 선발하는 실험을 하였다. 참나무 24품종과 그의 심재, 변재 별로 참나무의 절편(oaa chip) $(1{\times}1{\times}5cm)$을 만들고 oakchip 2개를 각 fine spirit 300ml씩 들은 640ml용맥주병에 담그고, 6개월간 숙성시키면서 색, 향기, 맛 등을 조사하였다. A. 숙성용술통재 선발의 1차 screen결과로서 색추출속도가 우수한 참나무 품종은 다음 순서와 같다. 갈참나무(심재) Quercus aliena Blume(Inner part), 굴참나무(변재) Q variabilis Blume (Outer part), 갈참나무(변재) Q. aliena Blume (Outer part), 졸참나무(심, 변재) Q. serrata Thumb (Inner & Outer part), 신갈참나무(변, 심재) Q. mongolca Fisher (Outer & Inner part), 상수리 나무(변, 심재) Q. acutissima Carruthers (Outer & Inner part)의 순서등 5품종을 선정하였다. B. 숙성온도별 영향으로서 실온 $24{\sim}25^{\circ}C,\;30^{\circ}C,\;45^{\circ}C$ 별로 각 fine spirit에 oak chip을 넣고 숙성시킨 결과 $45^{\circ}C$에서 숙성시킨 것이 가장 숙성이 촉진 되었고 다음이 $30^{\circ}C$, 다음이 실온에서 한 순서의 경향이었다. C. 투명한 삼각후라스크에 각 fine spirit에 oak chip을 담그고 자외선 조사를 하여 3개월간 숙성 시켰드니 숙성효과가 contral구 보다 거의 2배가 촉진하는 흥미있는 사실을 확인하였다. D. 사과주에서 증류한 fine spirit 300ml에 2개의 oak chip을 담그어 숙성시킴에 있어 oak chip의 여러성분이 fine spirit에 용출되여 나오는 정도가 fine spirit의 pH에 중요한 관계가 있음을 알았다. E. 선정된 5개 품종의 oak chip과 블란서 참나무 술통재(Limousin white oak from France)를 control로 하여 각 사과주를 증류한 fine spirit에 2개의 oak chip($1{\times}1{\times}5cm$)을 담그고 실온, $(24{\sim}25^{\circ}C)$, $30^{\circ}C,\;45^{\circ}C$, 실온에서 자외선조사 하면서 각각 6개월간 매일주일 마다 진탕하면서 숙성시켰다. 6개월간 수성시킨 fine spirit(young brandy)의 관능 검사 결과는 다음과 같다. 불란서 oak chip의 실온 숙성한 fine spirit 하고 비슷한 것은 참갈나무 chip을 넣은 사과의 young bandy($45^{\circ}C$에서 숙성함)이었고 갈참나무 chip을 넣고 실온에서 UV-ray 조사한 사과의 young brandy는 불란서 oak chip의 실온 숙성한 young brandy 보다는 약간 떨어지지만 그런대로 국산 참나무를 각 fine spirit 숙성용으로 이용할 가치가 있음을 알았다.

니암지대황폐림지(泥岩地帶荒廢林地)의 지피식생(地被植生) 조성방법(造成方法)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) - 니암특성((泥岩特性)과 조기녹화(早期綠化) - (Studies on the Method of Ground Vegetation Establishment of Denuded Forest Land in the Mudstone Region - The Characteristics of Mudstone and Speeded-up Reforestation -)

  • 우리나라에서 식물생장(植物生長)이 가장 나쁜 니암지대(泥岩地帶) 황폐림지(荒廢林地)에 지피식생(地被植生)을 조성(造成)시키기 위하여 지피식생(地被植生) 조성시험(造成試驗)을 실시(實施)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 객토량시험(客土量試驗)에 있어서 객토(客土)는 두께 15cm이상을 하여야만 객토(客土)의 효과(効果)를 인정(認定)할 수있었고, 10cm의 객토(客土)를 하고서도 시비(施肥)를 하지 않으면 생장(生長)이 불량(不良)하여 1cm 객토후(客土後) 비료(肥料)를 충분(充分)히 사용(使用)한 구(區)보다 못하였다. 또 파종혈(播種穴)의 깊이에 있어서 30cm구(區)와 40cm구(區)와는 그 성적차(成績差)를 인정(認定)할 수가 없었다. 식생대피복구(植生袋被覆區)와 무피복구(無被覆區)는 식물(植物)이 발아당시(發芽當時)에는 종자(種子)의 유실여부(流失如否)와 유시(幼時) 생장상(生長上)의 차(差)가 다소(多少)있었으나 가을 성적(成績) 결과(結果)는 차(差)를 인정(認定)할 수 없어서, 이것을 종합(綜合)하여 보면 객토(客土)는 10cm이상(以上)이고 파종혈(播種穴)($30cm{\times}30cm$)당(當) 30g(22:22:11 복비(複肥) 55g)의 시비(施肥)를 하여야 한다. 2. 객토파종별(客土播種別) 시험(試驗)에 있어서 화강암풍화토(花崗巖風化土), 응회암풍화토(凝灰岩風化土), 니암풍화토별(泥岩風化土別) 성적(成績)은 고도(高度)의 유의차(有意差)가 없어고, 각종녹화자재별(各種綠化資材別) 처리(處理)에서도 모연공구(毛筵工區)에서만 1%의 유의차(有意差)를 나타내었다. 이것을 종합(綜合)하면 본 바닥 산록(山麓)의 성취(成就)된 니암풍화토(泥岩風化土)를 객토(客土)로 사용(使用)하는 것이 효과적(効果的)이며 모연공구(毛筵工區)가 좋았다. 3. 니암지대(泥岩地帶)의 임지비암(林地肥岩)임지에는 기존임목(旣存林木)(소나무, 해송)이 1ha당(當) 2,000~3,000본(本) 산재(散在)되어 있으므로 1ah당(當) 22:22:11 복합비료(複合肥料)를 성분량(成分量)으로 110kg을 시용(施用)한 결과(結果) 시비당년(施肥當年)에는 차(差)를 인정(認定)할수 없었으나 다만 엽색(葉色)이 농록색(濃綠色)을 정(呈)하고 엽장(葉長)이 30~40% 더 신장(伸張)하였고 사방오리나무에 있어서 14:37:12 및 9:12:3 복비(複肥)를 본당성분량(本當成分量)으로 20g 구(區)와 40g 구(區)로 나누어 시비(施肥)한 결과(結果) 40g구(區)가 월등(越等)히 생장(生長)이 양호(良好)하였으며 비종간(肥種間)에는 차(差)이를 인정(認定)할수 없었다. 4. 임목(林木)의 근계신장상황(根系伸張狀況)은 소나무는 40년(年)을 자라도 니암(泥岩)을 뚫고 생장(生長)하는 직근신장(直根伸張)은 15cm에 불과(不過)하나 곰솔은 23cm까지 주근(主根)이 신장(伸張)할 수가 있으므로 소나무보다 해송의 직근(直根) 신장력(伸張力)이 강(强)하다. 측근전장(側根全長)은 소나무에서 20m 해송에서 13m이였고, 아까시아나무는 식재당시(植栽當時)에 길이에서 더밑으로 암석을 뚫지 못하고 측근(側根)만 발달(發達)하여 비교적(比較的) 수분(水分)이 보지(保持)되는 소나무밑으로 신장(伸張)하는 것이 통례(通例)이였으며, 니암잔적토(泥岩殘積土)에서는 8~10년(年)만에 고사(枯死)되고 만다. 한편 소나무의 수형(樹型)은 편편상(偏偏狀)인데 해송은 삼각형(三角形)에 수형(樹型)을 이루고 있는 것이 특이하다. 이상(以上)의 사실(事實)을 종합(綜合)하면 인공(人工) 조림시(造林時) 충분(充分)한 식혈(植穴)을 파주지 않으면 임목(林木) 생육(生育)이 어려우므로 충분(充分)한 식혈(植穴)과 비료(肥料)를 시용(施用)하여야만 니암지대(泥岩地帶) 황폐림지(荒廢林地)를 복구(復舊)할수 있을것이다.

조선왕조(朝鮮王朝) 왕릉(王陵) 문인석상(文人石像)의 복식형태(服飾形態)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Costume Style of Civil Servants' Stone Images Erected at Tombs of the Kings for Yi-dynasty)

  • A costume reveals the social characteristics of the era in which it is worn, thus we can say that the history of change of the costume is the history of change of the living culture of the era. Since the Three States era, the costume structure of this country had been affected by the costume system of the China's historical dynasties in the form of the grant therefrom because of geographical conditions, which affection was conspicuous for the bureaucrat class, particularly including but not limited to the Kings' familities. Such a grant of the costume for the bureaucrat class (i.e., official uniform) was first given by the Dang-dynasty at the age of Queen Jinduck, the 28th of the Shilla-dynasty. Since then, the costume for the bureaucrats had consecutively been affected as the ages had gone from the unified Shilla, to the Koryo and to the Yi-dynasty. As the full costumes officially used by government officials (generally called "Baek Gwan") in the Yidynasty, there existed Jo-bok, Gong-bok and Sang-bok. Of such official costumes, Gong-bok was worn at the time of conducting official affairs of the dynasty, making a respectful visit for the expression of thanks or meeting diplomatic missions of foreign countries. It appears no study was made yet with regard to the Gong-bok while the studies on the Jo-bok and the Sangbok were made. Therefore, this article is, by rendering a study and research on the styles of costumes of civil servants' stone images erected at the Kings' tombs of the Yi-dynasty, to help the persons concerned understand the Gong-bok, one of the official costume for Baek Kwan of that age and further purports to specifically identify the styles and changes of the Gong-bok, worn by Baek Gwan during the Yi-dynasty, consisting of the Bok-doo (a hat, four angled and two storied with flat top), Po (gown), Dae (belt), and Hol (small and thin plate which was officially held by the government officials in hand, showing the courtesy to and writing brief memorandums before the King) and Hwa (shoes). For that purpose, I investigated by actually visiting the tombs of the Kings of the Yi-dynasty including the Geonwon-neung, the tomb of the first King Tae-jo and the You-neung, the tomb of the 27th King Soon-jong as well as the tombs of the lawful wives and concubines of various Kings, totalling 29 tombs and made reference to relevant books and records. Pursuant. to this study, of the 29 Kings' tombs the costume styles of civil servants' stone images erected at the 26 Kings' tombs are those of Gong-bok for Baek-gwan of the Yi-dynasty wearing Bok-doo as a hat and Ban-ryeong or Dan-ryenog Po as a gown with Dae, holding Hol in hand and wearing shoes. Other than those of the 26 tombs, the costume styles of the Ryu-neung, the tomb of the Moon-jo who was the first son of 23rd King Soon-jo and given the King's title after he died and of the You-neung, the tomb of the 27th King Soon-jong are those of Jobok with Yang-gwan (a sort of hat having stripes erected, which is different from the Bok-doo), and that of the Hong-neung, the tomb of the 26th King Go-jong shows an exceptional one wearing Yang-gwan and Ban-ryeong Po ; these costume styles other than Gongbok remain as the subject for further study. Gong-bok which is the costume style of civil servants' stone images of most of the Kings' tombs had not been changed in its basic structure for about 500 years of the Yi-dynasty and Koryo categorized by the class of officials pursuant to the color of Po and materials of Dae and Hol. Summary of this costume style follows: (1) Gwan-mo (hat). The Gwan-mo style of civil servants' stone images of the 26 Kings' tombs, other than Ryu-neung, Hong-neung and You-neung which have Yang-gwan, out of the 29 Kings' tombs of the Yi-dynasty reveals the Bok-doo with four angled top, having fore-part and back-part divided. Back part of the Bok-doo is double the fore-part in height. The expression of the Gak (wings of the Bokdoo) varies: the Gyo-gak Bok-doo in that the Gaks, roundly arisen to the direction of the top, are clossed each other (tombs of the Kings Tae-jong), the downward style Jeon-gak Bok-doo in that soft Gaks are hanged on the shoulders (tombs of the Kings Joong-jong and Seong-jong) and another types of Jeon-gak Bok-doo having Gaks which arearisen steeply or roundly to the direction of top and the end of which are treated in a rounded or straight line form. At the lower edge one protrusive line distinctly reveals. Exceptionally, there reveals 11 Yang-gwan (gwan having 11 stripes erected) at the Ryu-neung of the King Moon-jo, 9 Yang-gwan at the Hong-neung of the King Go-jong and 11 Yang-gwan at the You-neung of the King Soon-jong; noting that the Yang-gwan of Baek Kwan, granted by the Myeong-dynasty of the China during the Yi-dynasty, was in the shape of 5 Yang-gwan for the first Poom (class) based on the principle of "Yideung Chaegang" (gradual degrading for secondary level), the above-mentioned Yang-gwans are very contrary to the principle and I do not touch such issue in this study, leaving for further study. (2) Po (gown). (a) Git (collar). Collar style of Po was the Ban-ryeong (round collar) having small neck-line in the early stage and was changed to the Dan-ryeong (round collar having deep neck-line) in the middle of the: dynasty. In the Dan-ryeong style of the middle era (shown at the tomb of the King Young-jo); a, thin line such as bias is shown around the internal side edge and the width of collar became wide a little. It is particularly noted that the Ryu-neung established in the middle stage and the You-neung in the later stage show civil servants in Jo-bok with the the Jikryeong (straight collar) Po and in case of the Hong-neung, the Hong-neung, the tomb of the King Go-jong, civil servants, although they wear Yang-gwan, are in the Ban-ryeong Po with Hoo-soo (back embroidery) and Dae and wear shoes as used in the Jo-bok style. As I could not make clear the theoretical basis of why the civil servants' costume styles revealed, at these tombs of the Kings are different from those of other tombs, I left this issue for further study. It is also noted that all the civil servants' stone images show the shape of triangled collar which is revealed over the Godae-git of Po. This triangled collar, I believe, would be the collar of the Cheomri which was worn in the middle of the Po and the underwear, (b) Sleeve. The sleeve was in the Gwan-soo (wide sleeve) style. having the width of over 100 centimeter from the early stage to the later stage arid in the Doo-ri sleeve style having the edge slightly rounded and we can recognize that it was the long sleeve in view of block fold shaped protrusive line, expressed on the arms. At the age of the King Young-jo, the sleeve-end became slightly narrow and as a result, the lower line of the sleeve were shaped curved. We can see another shape of narrow sleeve inside the wide sleeve-end, which should be the sleeve of the Cheom-ri worn under the Gong-bok. (c) Moo. The Moo revealed on the Po of civil servants' stone images at the age of the King Sook-jong' coming to the middle era. Initially the top of the Moo was expressed flat but the Moo was gradually changed to the triangled shape with the acute top. In certain cases, top or lower part of the Moo are not reveald because of wear and tear. (d) Yeomim. Yeomim (folding) of the Po was first expressed on civil servants' stone images of the Won-neung, the tomb of the King Young-jo and we can seemore delicate expression of the Yeomim and Goreum (stripe folding and fixing the lapel of the Po) at the tomb of the Jeongseong-wanghoo, the wife of the King Young-jo, At the age of the King Soon-jo, we can see the shape of Goreum similar to a string rather than the Goreum and the upper part of the Goreum which fixes Yeomim was expressed on the right sleeve. (3) Dae. Dae fixed on the Po was placed half of the length of Po from the shoulders in the early stage. Thereafter, at the age of the King Hyeon-jong it was shown on the slightly upper part. placed around one third of the length of Po. With regard to the design of Dae, all the civil servants' stone images of the Kings' tombs other than those of the Geonwon-neung of the King Tae-jo show single or double protrusive line expressed at the edge of Dae and in the middle of such lines, cloud pattern, dangcho (a grass) pattern, chrysanthemum pattern or other various types of flowery patterns were designed. Remaining portion of the waist Dae was hanged up on the back, which was initially expressed as directed from the left to the right but thereafter expressed. without orderly fashion,. to the direction of the left from the right and vice versa, Dae was in the shape of Yaja Dae. In this regard, an issue of when or where such a disorderly fashion of the direction of the remaining portion of waist Dae was originated is also presented to be clarified. In case of the Ryuneung, Hong-neung and You-neung which have civil servants' stone images wearing exceptional costume (Jo-bok), waist Dae of the Ryu-neung and Hong-neung are designed in the mixture of dual cranes pattern, cosecutive beaded pattern and chrvsenthemum pattern and that of You-neung is designed in cloud pattern. (4) Hol. Although materials of the Hol held in hand of civil servants' stone images are not identifiable, those should be the ivory Hol as all the Baek Gwan's erected as stone images should be high class officials. In the styles, no significant changes were found, however the Hol's expressed on civil servants' stone images of the Yi-dynasty were shaped in round top and angled bottom or round top and bottom. Parcicularly, at the age of the King Young-jo the Hol was expressed in the peculiar type with four angles all cut off. (5) Hwa (shoes). As the shoes expressed on civil servants' stone images are covered with the lower edges of the Po, the styles thereof are not exactly identifiable. However, reading the statement "black leather shoes for the first class (1 Poom) to ninth class (9 Poom)," recorded in the Gyeongkook Daejon, we can believe that the shoes were worn. As the age went on, the front tips of the shoes were soared and particularly, at the Hong-neung of the King Go-jong the shoes were obviously expressed with modern sense as the country were civilized.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms.
