The south ore deposits of the Dunjeon gold mine is a fissure-filling vein emplaced in the granitoids, skarnized and hornfelsified rocks of Ordovician Dumudong formation. The vein mineral paragenesis is complicated by repeated fracturing but three distinct depositional stages can be recognized; (1) base metal sulfides stage, (2) base metal sulfides, antimony-bismuthsulfosalts and native metals stage, (3) barren carbonates stage. Gold was mainly deposited in stage II. Fluid inclusion data indicate that fluid temperatures were from $310^{\circ}C$ to $402^{\circ}C$ during stage I and then declined steadily to $148^{\circ}C$ in the closing late stage III. Salinities were in the range of 0.4 to 5.0 equivalent weight percent NaCl and do not reveals any systematic trend through stag I, II and III. Ore mineralogy suggests that temperatures and sulfur fugacities in the earlier stage II were in the range of $340^{\circ}C$ to $360^{\circ}C$, $10^{-8}$ to $10^{-9}$ atm. respectively and then declined steadily to the range of $185^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$ and $10^{-17}$ to $10^{-19}$atm. in the later stage II.
Magnetite nanoparticles were synthesized by adding excess ammonium hydroxide to a solution of iron (II) and (III) chlorides. The surfactants of oleic acid and Span 80 were applied in sequence to the magnetic particles as a combined stabilizer, and poly-${\alpha}$-olefin (PAO) 30 or 60 was used as the liquid base with a low or high viscosity, respectively. The ferrofluids were prepared with the concentrations of 200, 300, 400, and 500 mg/mL, and characterized by density, dispersion, magnetization, and viscosity. The density of the fluids increased proportionally to the concentration from 0.98 to 1.27 g/mL and 1.01 to 1.30 g/mL with PAO 30 base and PAO 60 base, and the dispersion stability was 77-95 and 81-74% for the PAO-30 and PAO-60-based fluids, respectively. The observed saturation magnetization values of the PAO-30 and PAO-60-based ferrofluids were 16 to 42 mT and 17 to 41 mT with the concentration increase in the range 200-500 mg/mL, respectively, depending upon the content of magnetic particles in the fluid. The viscosity variation of the PAO-30 and PAO-60-based ferrofluids in the temperature range $20-80^{\circ}C$ was the least with the concentrations of 400 and 300 mg/mL, respectively.

Physical characteristics of a magneto-rheological(MR) fluid can be influenced by a magnetic field. MR fluid is a suspension of micrometer-sized magnetic particles in a base liquid such as oil. Therefore, the key issue is dispersion stability because density of micrometer-sized magnetic particles are different from that of oil. In the present study, dispersion stability and physical characteristics along chemical compositions of MR fluid are investigated. 216 kinds of MR fluids are made by using magnetic powder(#2), surfactant(#2), base oil(#2), functional additive(#3), density(#3) and viscosity(#3). From experimental results, SEM photograph, magnetic flux density, supernatant and sediment of 216 kinds of MR fluids are obtained.
Generally, to product multi-grade oil like engine oil, a sort of mineral base oil is mixed with a fundamental additive package liquid and a polymer liquid as viscosity index improver in order to improve the lubricating property of base oil. That is, engine oil is the mixture of more than two fluids. Specially, a polymeric type liquid cannot be seen as the linear viscosity like Newtonian fluids. In this research, by using the governing equation describing non-Newtonian hydrodynamic lubrication related with the mixture of incompressible fluids based on the principle of continuum mechanics, it will be compared the bearing performance between the mixture of each liquid to be blended and multi-grade engine oil as a single fluid in a high speed hydrodynamic journal bearing. Further, it is to be found the way estimating the performance of the blended multi-grade engine lubricant in a journal bearing in advance before blending by using the physical properties of mineral base oil, fundamental additive liquid and polymer liquid of viscosity index improver. So, it can be reduced the number of trial and error to get the wanted lubricant by selecting the proper volume fraction of each liquid to satisfy the expected performance and estimating in advance the performance of various multi-grade oils before blending. Therefore, it can be shorten the developing time and saved the developing cost.

In this paper, we perform structural analysis for a base frame which is used to support a motor for large centrifugal compressor drives and a safety assessment according to the concrete placement. First, the structural analysis about four loading conditions for the motor base frame was conducted and the structural safety was evaluated through both the maximum distortion energy theory and Mohr-Coulomb theory. It was possible to perform a more reasonable safety evaluation against local stresses occurring at the discontinuous portion of the fragile structural members by applying the safety assessment through ASME VIII Div. 2. In addition, the motor base frames with and without the internal concrete placement were quantitatively compared by the structural analysis and safety evaluation using ASME code and it was found to improve the structural integrity due to the concrete placement.

The most efficient system for converting heat to electricity, AMTEC (Alkali Metal Thermal-to-Electric Convertor), is a device that directly converts heat energy to electricity using an alkali metal (sodium) as the working fluid. The AMTEC consists of a low pressure chamber, high pressure chamber, BASE (Beta-Alumina Solid Electrolyte), and artery wick. The main heat loss of the AMTEC system occurs in the low pressure chamber. A high power generation rate is thought to be obtainable by using a high temperature in the BASE. Therefore, to reduce the radiation heat loss, 6 types of radiation shields were examined to reduce the radiative heat loss in the low pressure chamber. The power generation rate of the AMTEC varied depending on the shape of the radiation shield. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses were carried out to optimize the shape of the radiation shield. As a result, the optimum radiation shield was found to consist of a curvature formed at the vertical point, in which case the dimensionless temperature (condenser temperature/BASE temperature) is approximately 0.665 and the maximum power generated is calculated to be 17.69W. Increasing the distance beween the BASE and condenser leads to an increase in the power generated, and the power generated with the longest distance was 17.58 W. The shields with multiple holes and multiple horizontal layers showed power reduction rates of 0.91 W and 2.06 W, respectively.
The pressure is generally lower than that of the freestream at the base of a missile body due to the energy loss by the flow separation around the edge of the base. The base pressure changes in the presence of the thrust jet due to the interaction between the base flow of the missile and the jet flow. In this study, behavior of the missile base pressure by the change of the jet exit pressure and the freestream condition is investigated using the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) method. Effects of the grid type and the freestream condition are tested. The results are compared with the semi-empirical predictions and the flight test data. The CFD results agree well with the flight test data. The semi-empirical predictions overestimate the base pressure when jet thrust is strong for low freestream speed.

Exact comparisons of the thermal conductivities of the base fluid and a nanofluid are very important in the early stages of nanofluid development. A simple procedure of measuring the thermal conductivity of the two fluids by the transient hot wire method and numerically dividing these values is used for this purpose. However, because the experiments are not performed simultaneously and the physical properties of the measurement system are sometimes not properly known, large errors are incurred during the evaluation process. This article proposes a new apparatus for thermal conductivity comparison where the working principle is mainly based on relative measurement rather than absolute measurement. The measuring circuit and data processing steps are explained in detail; a validation test was performed using the well-known glycerine and engine oil.
The Cheolam silver deposits are emplaced along the fractures in breccia dike and the Hongjesa granite. Breccia dike contains fragments of late Cretaceous acidic volcanic rocks and other fragments of various rocks distributed in the mine area. Therefore it is presumed that the mineralization was taken place in later than late Cretaceous time. Mineral paragenesis is complicated by multiple episodes of fracturing. Six distinct depositional stages can be recognized: stage I, deposition of base metal sulfides; stage II, deposition of base metal sulfides and silver minerals; stage III, deposition of carbonates; stage IV, deposition of silver minerals and base metal sulfides; stage V, deposition of silver minerals; stage VI, deposition of barren quartz. Silver minerals from the deposits are native silver, acanthite, pyrargyrite, argentian tetrahedrite, stephanite, polybasite, pearceite, allargentum, antimonial silver and electrum. Fluid inclusion studies ware carried out for stage I, II, IV and VI quartz and stage III calcite. Homogenization temperatures for each stage are as follows: stage I, from $225^{\circ}$ to $360^{\circ}C$; stage II, from $145^{\circ}$ to $220^{\circ}C$; stage III, from $175^{\circ}$ to $240^{\circ}C$; stage IV, from $130^{\circ}$ to $185^{\circ}C$; stage VI, from $120^{\circ}$ to $145^{\circ}C$. Salinities of ore fluids were in the range of 4 and 10 wt.% equivalent NaCl over stage I and stage VI. Ore mineralogical data of each stage indicate that temperatures are within the range of homogenization temperature of fluid inclusions and sulfur fugacities declined steadily from $10^{-9.7}atm$. to $10^{-18.7}atm$. through stage I into stage V.
Passive, semi-active and active dampers have been used to dissipate energy in mechanical systems. Semi-active dampers have higher performance than passive dampers and require lower power to operate than active dampers. Its damping characteristics can be changed appropriately for varying conditions. In this paper, we developed a semi-active damper based on Magnetorheological(MR) fluid. MR fluid has a variable damping characteristics proportional for the magnetic field intensity. It has several advantages such as high strength, low viscosity, robustness in impurities and wide temperature range of operational stability. We designed a constrained rotary MR damper base on valve mode which can dissipate more energy per unit volume. The system with Bingham characteristics is obtained and proved by the experiment.
