The primary object of this study lies in reilluminating the meaning of the Baroque, through studying arts and architecture by means of the features of Baroque aesthetics suggested by Deleuze in his writing 'Le Pli' on the basis of Leibniz's 'Pli' concept. Through this study we can see the following. In the first place, the six features - pli, separation between the inner and the exterior, highs and lows, unfolding, texture and paradigm presented as the features of Baroque aesthetics - have to be understood not as being independent features but as those derived from a series of continuous process of folding and unfolding. In the second place, Deleuze's thinking ranging from the 'Pli' of the Baroque to the paradigm derived on the ground of Leibniz thinking is a dynamic world of folding and unfolding, ultimately seeking unity through the topological changes and succession repeating deterritorization and reterritorization. In the third place, most architectural trends claiming 'Fold Architect' or the 'Pli' of Deleuze as their architectural philosophy are committing errors of mass-producing standardized designs by confining the meaning of Deleuze's 'Pli' concept into a simple reproduction of plied superficial things. With this finding in mind, the concept of folding and unfolding examined through reilluminating the Baroque Architecture where the 'Pli' concept is embodied, suggests to us that the problems of contemporary architecture should be rightened, and shows us that it can become an architectural philosophy which can be concretely realized in architecture.
The visual expression system of space realized in Baroque aesthetics is basically grounded on the philosophical view to the world of the time, that is to say the changes of the thinking system in the Renaissance and ontology based on it. Structural aesthetics in Baroque freed from Plato's system of harmony but grounded on Leibniz's process philosophy formed a crucial background to highlight the formal nature of the whole and build a structure based on the inclusive principle of formativity. Also, to solve problems to realize the order and consistency of forms from the whole, Baroque adopted the nonlinear and nonphysical formative system as the principle of building space in works of art. Combining the order system of nature in the Renaissance with manneristic dynamicity as well as formative principle taking shape geometrically, it did establish a variety of aesthetic concepts based on the results of infiniteness and exaggeration expressed from the two forces, the Renaissance and mannerism. This study has found that such Baroque aesthetics did overcome classical planeness and draw continuous mobility from the structures and forms based on that with the transborder concepts of structures, the components of space, as an ultimate system of formative expression. Moreover, this author has drawn and analyzed with the cases of the 17th-century art and architecture the transborder elements manifesting the nature of diverse formative visual elements produced in artistic expressions with that principle of aesthetics, that is the intangible concept of Baroque. Based on that, this researcher intends to come up with technical solutions to solve a lot of environmental and architectural problems we are severely facing nowadays in terms of environmental, physical, and emotional aspects with the theoretical clues and results acceptable to this contemporary era.
Baroque is fundamentally in contrast with renaissance style classicism, which attempted to fix a world view itself as the value of perpetuity. Furthermore, it is interpreted as a topic of incompletion or transformation that is not defined or is not exemplary and which may be enjoyed by people in the classical life, which requires a microscopic concept in contrast with dualism, the central axis of western civilization, namely, rational lucidity. Also, such characteristics are estimated to serve as a lubricant in life while going beyond the formal aesthetic level of art even from a contemporary perspective, and to play a productive role and to have potential. Consequently, this paper assumed that the concepts expressed by the 20th century US contemporary architect Richard Meier of a complex space, namely architectural formative vocabularies such as overlapping, interpenetration, collision, and collage style mixture created by a layered structure, in his architecture are in common with the double surface technique and juxtaposition of a flat structure of Baroque architecture. Then, the paper analyzed and considered the characteristics. The paper considered the following two issues: Such Baroque style formal principle is reinterpreted against a backdrop in which his architectural flow based on the domino theory of Le Corbusier became established as his own unique architectural feature, and it may be proposed as one big flow that enables us to seek again modernistic architecture that attempts to make an architectural space absolute as an atypical formal contour.
This study examines the space composition and character of Baroque Theater base on the theory of drama and play in the european traditional theater. This study attempts to reevaluate the need of public space in modern society through a critical review of theater and its use as a open space design. Content analysis was used to discuss the topics of this study including the historical background of the theater, the relationship between renaissance culture and modern theater design, and the role of scenery, auditorium and its impact on urban environment. This research seeks to analyze western men's costume in the Baroque era in relation to men's physical beauty from its most detailed and interesting perspective to fomulate a plausible reasoning related to the aesthetic sense of body as expressed in men's costume. This research used national and international books, theses and internet data upon which to base a literature review for a correct understanding of Baroque style and at the same time empirical research to analyze the body image expressed in men's costume. The Baroque style expressed in the 17th century costume offered a dynamic feeling through wavy curves, and its brilliant and colorful decorations created a passionate and charming mood resembling a flame. Accordingly, this research studied the body image as it appeared in the form of 17th century western men's costume by dividing it into the contact beauty of the human body and the manner of hiding the architectural beauty of the human body. First, the exposed silhouette by clothing coming into contact with the human body could be found mainly in upper-class men's costume in the first half of the 17th century. The shorter and tighter doublets and knee breeches could be analyzed in terms of erotic imagery that emphasized masculinity, aristocratic imagery that stressed a distinctive status, and geometric imagery that expressed a triangular pattern. Second, the constructive expression by hiding the human body could be found in upper-class men's costume starting in the mid-17 century. The wearing of the justaucorps could be studied in terms of how it came into contact with the beauty of the human body but also how this clothing style the hid the architectural beauty of human body.
This study aims to contribute to better understanding of the Baroque architect Francesco Borromini, and, as a consequence, of the Baroque period itself. Recognizing that historical studies have focused mainly on the architectural (i.e., formal) aspects of Borromini's work and largely neglected the technical (i.e., structural) issues, and that the relationship between the architectural and structural worlds in Borromini's activity has consequently never been studied in depth, this research set as its objective the study of this relationship, and has developed a comparative analysis of Borromini's attitude toward architectural problems and questions of tectonics. The investigation has been conducted on two meaningful case-studies in Rome: San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane and Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza. The analysis has highlighted a strong dichotomy between Borromini as an architectural designer and Borromini as a structural designer. While Borromini's design is experimental, innovative, and nonconformist, his structures are cautious, tested, and validated by trustworthy tradition. His unprejudiced use of constructive solutions from different historical periods, regions, and cultural areas allows the definition of his approach to tectonics as "constructive eclecticism." The analysis has also highlighted the independence between the architectural and structural aspects of his work, as the two do not interfere with or limit each other. The dichotomy between form and structure in Borromini's work may reflect the "theatrical" tendency of Baroque culture, where what is shown on the face is often different from what is hidden behind.

H. $W\"{o}lfflin's$ methodology created viewpoint of art history which is an essential factor of art, and proposed formal analysis as an academic methodology specific to art history. H. $W\"{o}lfflin's$ expressed the see-form a as the five pair concepts which are summarized by 'linear-painterly' 'the plane-the deep'. 'closed form-open form', 'multiplicity-unity', 'absolute clarity-relative clarity'. His methodology is not only in the field of art and architecture but also clothing because during the same period have a relative tendency of thought, culture, politics and economics each other. As the result of this study were as follows. Renaissance of 16 century, the style of dress was enormous and dignified by body support outfit, hard puffs, slashes, padding and expansive jewels.
