산업은행: 금융 IT 아웃소싱 - 공동협력으로 안전한 문을 연다 (A Case Study - IT Outsourcing of the Korea Development Bank)

  • 산업은행은 1999년 제1금융권으로는 최초로 IT 운영에 대한 전체 아웃소싱을 추진하였다. 대부분의 은행들이 금융사고와 보안, 그리고 파업에 대한 위험 등을 이유로 타회사 방식 아웃소싱을 꺼리는 상황에서 산업은행의 이러한 시도는 많은 주목을 받았다. 이후 산업은행은 끊임없이 아웃소싱의 문제점들을 진단하고 이를 개선하기 위하여 다양한 보완책을 강구하였다. 이러한 개선의 결과로, 산업은행의 IT 아웃소싱은 외주 운영기와 공동 운영기를 지나 금융권 IT 아웃소싱 최초로 타 은행에 비해 선구적인 아웃소싱 방식인 책임운영 체제를 갖추게 되었다. 책임운영을 통해 산업은행은 최신의 향상된 IT 수준을 얻고 내부 인력을 핵심역량에 집중시키며 부족 인력의 즉시 수급이 가능하게 되어 유연성을 확보할 수 있었다. 또한, 외주업체와의 관계를 공급자와 수요자의 일방적 관계로 설정하지 않고 함께 책임지는 책임 운영 방식 체제로 전환함으로써 자체 보유역량과 IT 전문업체의 노하우를 통합할 수 있게 되어 IT 아웃소싱의 순기능을 활용할 수 있게 되었다. 이와 같은 산업은행의 IT 아웃소싱 사례를 살펴봄으로써 일반적으로 타 회사 방식 아웃소싱에 대해 갖고 있는 우려가 현실적인 것인지, 혹은 극복될 수 있는 것인지를 확인하고, 자회사 방식의 아웃소싱에 비해 어떤 장점들을 갖고 있으며 어떤 성과를 보이고 있는지 정리하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 타 회사방식 아웃소싱에 대한 잘못된 견해들을 바로잡음으로써 폐쇄된 금융 IT 아웃소싱 시장의 구조를 개선하고 국내 IT 아웃소싱 업체의 국제 경쟁력을 제고할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

금융 산업의 서비스 품질이 서비스 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구-저축은행을 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Service Quality of Financial Industry on Service Performance-Based on Mutual Savings Bank)

  • 국내 저축은행들은 다양한 원인으로 인해 오늘날 많은 어려움에 직면하고 있다. 이러한 어려움을 극복하기 위해서 저축은행들은 다양하고 전문적인 서비스를 요구하는 고객들을 만족시켜야 한다. 이를 위해 저축은행들은 고객 지향적으로 변해야 하고 고객 관리 관리를 체계적으로 하여야 한다. 이러한 인식하에 본 연구는 서비스 품질을 상호작용 품질, 결과 품질, 물리적 환경 품질의 3차원으로 분류하여 이들이 서비스 성과인 고객 만족, 고객 신뢰, 재거래 의도에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 조사하였다. 또한, 금리 민감도와 은행 명성이 서비스 품질과 서비스 성과 사이에 조절효과가 있는지도 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 금융 산업의 종사자와 연구자들에게 저축은행들의 경쟁력 확보를 위한 시사점과 가이드라인을 제공할 것이다.

금융상품추천 전문가시스템을 이용한 은행의 eCRM 설게 및 구축 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Development of eCRM Using Financial Goods Recommendation Expert System)

  • 은행 등과 같이 고객의 서비스를 중요시하는 산업에서는 고객 만족도 향상을 위하여 eCRM(e-Customer Relationship Management)의 개념 도입이 촉진되고 있다. 이러한 고객의 만족도 향상을 위한 방안으로 본 연구에서는 은행의 금융상품 추천업무를 대상으로 전문가시스템을 이용한 eCRM 구축에 대하여 검토를 실시하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 전문가시스템을 활용한 eCRM 시스템의 아키텍처를 제시하였고, 고객에게 금융상품 추천을 위한 전문가시스템 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 금융상품추천 전문가시스템을 활용한 e-CRM시스템은 고객에게는 보다 양질의 금융 서비스를 제공하게 되며, 은행에서는 고객에 대한 보다 정확한 정보 수집이 용이하게 된다.

Competition of Islamic Bank in Indonesia

  • Purpose - This paper aims to study the competition that occurs in the Islamic Banking industry and to analyze the variables that affect the total revenue of Islamic Banking in Indonesia. Research Design, Data and Methodology - This study observed 10Islamic banks for the period 2010-2013. The annual data are taken from Direktori Perbankan Indonesia, published by Bank Indonesia, and annual report of the observed banks. In analyzing data, Panzar Rosse Approach was applied to analyze the type of Islamic Bank Market and Panel Regression Model for the estimated co-efficients has been used in the Panzar Rosse Approach. Results - Estimation model shows that all the banking cost elements such as the price of capital, unit price of labor, and unit prices of funds have significant positive correlation to Revenue as a dependent variable. The estimated value of H-statistic for the period 2010-2013 is 0.69. It can be interpreted that Islamic banking market in Indonesia shows monopolistic competition. Price of capital and funds has statistically significant effect on Bank's Revenue. Conclusions - The study revealed that the Islamic banking market competition in Indonesia is monopolistic and the major contribution to the H-statistic comes from mainly price of funds.

Factors Affecting Satisfaction of Customers' Savings Deposit in the Context of COVID-19: Evidence from Vietnamese Commercial Banks

  • Credit capital from customers' savings deposit (CSD) of banks has an important meaning in the business activities of the banking industry. There are many factors that influence the CSD satisfaction with banks. Certain changes have been made when there are fluctuations due to COVID-19. The article is based on an analysis assessing the factors that influence the CSD satisfaction of Vietnamese commercial banks in the context of COVID-19. The authors use a sample of 1,639 CSD. The results show that there are three variables that positively affect CSD satisfaction, including legal provisions of the Central bank (Legal), policies and mechanisms of commercial banks (Policy), and products of commercial banks (Product). Accordingly, in order to contribute to strengthening this capital mobilization of savings deposit, the Central bank of Vietnam needs to play a pivotal role in the regulations of the banking system to ensure its stability; control well monetary policy, interest rates, and inflation to keep a stable position in the economy; and provide timely financial support packages to enhance the confidence of CSD. Moreover, Vietnamese commercial banks need flexible policies and mechanisms to stimulate CSD; strengthen support on deposit rates for CSD; and diversify products to easily adapt to each CSD's situation.

광섬유 센서를 이용한 50,000원 지폐 위조 판별에 관한 연구 (A Study about the Discrimination of Counterfeit \50,000 won bills Using Optical Fiber Sensor)

  • The authenticity of bank note is threatened by increasing a counterfeit note with development of the information industry, recently. The importance of counterfeit discrimination is stressed, but there is a limits to popularization. Because usually, the existing counterfeit discriminator uses invisible ray zone like UV, IR, etc. The purpose of this paper is the construction of counterfeit discrimination system for \50,000 won bills. This system is used optical fiber sensor with excellent confidence as well as easy way of using in wave length of a visible ray zone. The light was altered by lightening optical fiber sensor to particular part of bank notes in order displacing response of optical fiber sensor. The experiment was processed with data of 100 bank notes on manufacture optical fiber, probe, jig. As a result, the discrimination conuterfeit was verified when the experiment was processing with hologram or CSI on the bank notes with three kinds of color printer.

Bank Capital and Lending Behavior of Vietnamese Commercial Banks

  • The objective of the study is to empirically investigate the impact of bank capital on the lending behavior of Vietnamese commercial banks from 2007 to 2019. Lending behavior is captured by two dimensions, including the quantity (loan growth) and quality (credit risk) of loans. Instead of investigating loan growth and credit risk separately, we combine these two aspects in our study and further develop the interaction term between capital buffers and credit risk to capture the asymmetric impact. We apply the dynamic model (regressed by the generalized method of moments) and the static models (regressed using the fixed effects, random effects, and the pooled regression approach) to perform regressions. The results show that banks with higher capital ratios tend to expand lending more, while the risk of credit portfolios is controlled at lower levels at these banks. Further analysis reveals that credit risk mitigates some aspects of the relationship between bank capital and loan expansion. The patterns remain robust across alternative measures and econometric techniques. The study provides insightful policy implications for bank managers and regulators in the process of upgrading capital resources to ensure the safety and soundness of the banking industry in an emerging country.

An Empirical Study of Determinants of Customer Satisfaction of Banking Sector: Evidence from Bangladesh

  • The aim of this study is to determine the factors that affect customer satisfaction in the banking sector of Bangladesh because the economic growth and stability of a country depends on the soundness of its banking sector. The study tries to investigate and assess the quality of service on customer satisfaction in the banking sector. As a sample, data were collected from 382 respondents who were customers of 32 selected commercial banks of Bangladesh. A pre-structured questionnaire was used to collect the required data and information. OLS regression model and descriptive statistical tools were used to analyze data. The results of this study reveal that the quality of service (e.g., tangibility, reliability, and empathy) has a statistically significant impact on customer satisfaction. The results also show that there is a positive correlation between the customer satisfaction and service quality dimensions in the banking sector of Bangladesh. The present study finds that in the domestic banking industry the service quality dimensions (i.e., tangibility, reliability, and empathy) have significant positive impact on customer satisfaction. The findings of the present study suggest that Bank Supervisory Authority, Central Bank of Bangladesh, and Bank Management should give special emphasis to ensure maximum satisfaction of banks' customers.

The Impact of Foreign Ownership on Credit Risk of Commercial Banks in Vietnam: Before the Context of Participation in the CPTPP

  • The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is projected to provide several chances for Vietnam's banking industry to expand into the international market. This study examines the influence of foreign ownership on credit risk in Vietnamese commercial banks before the context of participation in the CPTPP. Using a sample of 28 commercial banks between 2009 and 2020, we find that foreign ownership has a negative relationship with bank credit risk. The regression methods used include the least-squares method, fixed-effects model, random effects model, and general least squares method. The research model adds interactive variables, which will help to reflect the role of intermediary factors more accurately such as listing on the stock market, capital ratio to the relationship between foreign ownership and bank credit risk. The test results reveal that increasing the foreign ownership ratio has a bigger impact on reducing credit risk for listed banks and banks with low capital than for other commercial banks. The government should flexibly adjust the foreign ownership ratio according to the capital size and role of each bank so that it can make good use of investment capital from abroad when Vietnam joins the CPTPP.

신용평가에서 중소벤처기업 경영자 역량 요인의 상대적 중요도에 관한 연구 (Relative Importance of Executive Competency Factors of SMEs and Venture Firms in Credit Evaluation)

  • 본 연구는 경영자 역량에 관한 심층분석을 통하여 은행에서 경영자 역량을 보다 구체적이고 체계적으로 신용평가에 반영하고, 중소벤처기업 CEO는 경영자 역량을 스스로 점검하고 관리하여 기업의 신용등급을 높이는 방안을 제공하고자 한다. 은행의 대출담당자와 중소벤처기업 CEO를 대상으로 설문하여 중요도 및 우선순위를 AHP를 통해서 분석하였다. 분석결과를 보면 대출담당자의 상대적 중요도에서 윤리경영, 전략적 사고, 전문지식수준의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 중소벤처기업 CEO의 상대적 중요도에서는 마케팅, 은행거래신뢰도, 자금조달의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 본 신용평가에서도 선행연구의 상대적 중요도와 유사한 결과를 보였으며, 금융소비자 보호 차원에서 신용평가시스템을 공개하고 CEO의 의견을 반영하는 노력이 필요하다고 사료된다. 본 연구의 의의는 경영자 역량 요인의 상대적 중요도를 연구하여 향후 발전된 모형개발에 도움이 되는 요인과 중요도를 제시한 점에 있다.
