  • "So A Eui Bang", written by Choi Kyuheon, was first published in 1912 at Kwang Hak Seo Po. There are four different editions of So A Eui Bang of three different publishing company. In this study, I reveal that Kwang Hak Seo Po's edition is the original work of the author and present each edition's different characters by comparing each other.

  • Background and Objective : Acne is very common skin disease encountered by dermatologists. But There is few reports on Acne treated with the Ko-Bang(古方) and the Sa-Am acupuncture. The study was designed to evaluate the effects of Acne patients by the Ko-Bang(古方) and the Sa-Am acupuncture. Methods : We conducted one patient with Acne seen at Won-Kwang University Ik-San Oriental Medical Hospital. We treated Acne by a herbal medicine, acupuncture, etc. Conclusions : We suggest that the oriental medical treatment and management have an effect with Acne which means Jwachang(挫瘡) in Oriental medicine.

  • Review of literature on stomachache. According to investigated the pathology of a stomachache about all sorts of falling ill, I have been obtained following conclusions. 1. The cause of Ui Wan Tong are clod-wet-ui wan, sik juk, dam eum, a huy1 be made of gi bul soon (氣不順). 2. Pain of Je sang bu are called jung wan tong, dae bok tong, jung cho tong, cause are sik juk, han sa, chung juk. pain of je ha bu are called so bok tong, hache tong, soh bok tong, so bok are devided two part, one is so eum sin the other is gul eum gan, cause are jo gyul dae jang, yul gyu1 bang kwang, hyul gyul bang kwang, porak hu ect. 3. Pain of je bu are called je bok tong, hwan je e tong, so bok je ju tong, and cause are juk yu1, jo si, dam hwa. Pain of yang hyup bu are called yang hyup ha so bok tong, yang bang ge hyup tong, yang hup jisang tong, cause are ban gi,yang myung jo geom. According to above results, the patholosy of a stomach ache about the part of falling ill in a course of transformation on the epidemic fever comes into the viscera.

A Case of Erythema Multiforme(EM) (다형홍반 치험 1례)

  • Background and Objective: Erythema multiforme(EM) is related disorders of skin and mucous membranes which is typically associated with antecedent medications or infections. etc. EM is an erythematous maculopapular cutaneous eruption of variable form. However, the pathophysiology of the EM remains obscure. Treatment at present is symptomatic and supportive. There is no report on EM treated with oriental medical treatment. Methods: We conducted one patient with EM seen at Won-Kwang University Kwang-Ju Oriental Medical Hospital in 2004. We treated EM in a twenty-two years old man by a herbal medicine(Joa-Chang-Bang), a herbal medicine for external use, acupunture, moxa, COTDE-made cosmetics, and P-Tx(carbon). Conclusions. We had a significant results. So we report this case to estimate the efficiency of oriental medical treatment and management on EM.
