A multi-stage hierarchical clustering technique, which is an unsupervised technique, has been proposed in this paper for classifying the hyperspectral data .. The multistage algorithm consists of two stages. The 'local' segmentor of the first stage performs region-growing segmentation by employing the hierarchical clustering procedure with the restriction that pixels in a cluster must be spatially contiguous. The 'global' segmentor of the second stage, which has not spatial constraints for merging, clusters the segments resulting from the previous stage, using a context-free similarity measure. This study applied the multistage hierarchical clustering method to the data generated by band reduction, band selection and data compression. The classification results were compared with them using full bands.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) provides more accurate positioning estimation performance by processing L1 and L2 signals simultaneously through dual frequency signal processing technology at the L-band rather than using only L1 signal. However, if anti-spoofing (AS) mode is run at the GPS, the precision (P) code in L2 signal is encrypted to Y code (or P(Y) code). Thus, dual frequency signal processing can be done only when the effect of P(Y) code is eliminated through the L2 signal processing technology. To do this, a codeless technique or semi-codeless technique that can acquire phase measurement information of L2 signal without information about W code should be employed. In this regard, this paper implements L2 signal processing technology where two typical codeless techniques and four typical semi-codeless techniques of previous studies are applied and compares their performances to discuss the optimal technique selection according to implementation environments and constraints.

Input filter for satellite communication transponder is the interface between the antenna and the receiver. It is used to provide the selection of the uplink signals with minimum insertion loss and to prevent downlink signals form reaching the LNA. This paper is intended to provide a description of the input filter for KOREASAT communication transponder. Included are description for the electrical and mechanical design and the requirments of environmental test. In expecting the electrical performine the optimum electrical configuration ot meet all requirements are performed. Mechanical requirements are charactersed by several constraints for weight, size of the filter and its type of input output interface. The standardized environmental tests are performed to confirm satisfactory performance of the filter with respect to the requirements of vibration and thermal vacuum shocks.
A direct RF sampling method refers to a technique that directly converts a passband signal to an intermediate band or a baseband without using a mixer. This method is less complicated than an existing RF receiver because a mixer is not used. It uses digital processing after sampling, and thus can flexibly process signals in a number of bands using software. In this process, it is important to select an appropriate sampling frequency so that a number of signals can be converted to an intermediate band that is easy to process. In this study, going beyond previously studied direct RF sampling frequency selection methods, conditions that need to be additionally considered during receiver design were examined, and the structure of a direct RF sampling receiver that satisfies these conditions was suggested.
Hyperspectral images have shown a great potential for the applications in resource management, agriculture, mineral exploration and environmental monitoring. However, due to the large volume of data, processing of hyperspectral images faces some difficulties. This paper introduces the development of an image processing tool (HYVIEW) that is particularly designed for handling hyperspectral image data. Current version of HYVIEW is dealing with efficient algorithms for displaying hyperspectral images, selecting bands to create color composites, and atmospheric correction. Three band-selection schemes for producing color composites are available based on three most popular indexes of OIF, SI and CI. HYVIEW can effectively demonstrate the differences in the results of the three schemes. For the atmospheric correction, HYVIEW utilizes a pre-calculated LUT by which the complex process of correcting atmospheric effects can be performed fast and efficiently.

Electronic warfare recently has became the core of modern warfare and the importance of communication survivability is being considerable day by day. In this paper, we propose an effective jamming avoidance algorithm aginst widely used jamming environment such as GPS jamming. In order to simulate to show our system performance, we consider IEEE 802.16 WiMAX protocol and partial band jamming envoriment. Proposed algorithm can improve channel capacity through subchannelization and we show channel capacity corresponding to subchannel parameter.

This study presents an investigation of the changes that have occurred in the coastal ocean area of Kwangyang Bay located in the South Coastal region of Korea using remote sensing data based on Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) multispectral digital data from 1988 and 1996. The coastal changes were detected using the digital histogram method and vector trace method. All the images were preprocessed, i.e. geometrically corrected, before the training set selection. when comparing the histograms of 7-band TM data, it was found that the band 5 image exhibited two critical Digital Number(DN) peaks, thereby indicating new coastal water and coastal land data. Based on this information, the coastal ocean area of the band 5 image was calculated using the vector tracing method supported by a CAD program. The result shows that the coastal ocean area decreased by about 5 % between 1988 to 1994. Accordingly, this gives a strong indication that the continuing land development will have a serious impact on the ecosystem of Kwangyang Bay.

Nanotechnology has provided a set of tools that the engineers can use to design and manufacture integrated nano devices, which are capable of performing sensing, computing, data storing and actuation. One of the main hurdles for nano devices has been the amount of power that it can generate for transmission of data. In this paper, we proposed cooperative nano communication in the Terahertz (THz) Gap frequency band to increase the range of transmission. Outage probability (OP) performances for the proposed cooperative nano communication networks in the THz band (0.1 - 10THz) have been evaluated for the following scenarios; A) A single decode-and-forward (DF) relay over independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh fading channels, B) DF multi-relay network with best relay selection (BRS) over i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels, and C) DF multi-relay network with multiple hops with BRS over i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels. The results show that the transmission distance can be improved significantly by employing DF relays. Also, it is shown that by increasing the number of hops in a relay the OP performance is marginally degraded. The analytical results have been verified by Monte-Carlo simulation.
For the specific detection of human Parvovirus B19 (HuPaV-B19), we designed ten specific PCR primers from 3,800~4,500 nucleotides of HuPaV-B19 complete genome (NC_000883.2). Seventeen candidate PCR primer sets for specific detecting HuPaV-B19 were constructed. In specific reaction of HuPaV-B19, seventeen PCR primer sets showed specific band, however five PCR primer sets were selected basis of band intensity, amplicon size and location. In non-specific reaction with seven reference viruses, four PCR primer sets showed non-specific band, however one PCR primer set is not. Detection sensitivity of final selective PCR primer set was $100fg/{\mu}L$ for 112 minute, and PCR amplicon is 539 base pairs (bp). In addition, nested PCR primer set was developed, for detection HuPaV-B19 from a low concentration of contaminated samples. Selection of nested PCR primer set was basis of sensitivity and groundwater sample tests. Detection sensitivity of final selective PCR and nested PCR primer sets for the detection of HuPaV-B19 were $100fg/{\mu}L$ and $100ag/{\mu}L$ basis of HuPaV-B19 plasmid, it was able to rapid and highly sensitive detection of HuPaV-B19 than previous reports. We expect developed PCR primer set in this study will used for detection of HuPaV-B19 in various samples.
The universe has been ionized in the post-reionization by several photon contributors. The dominant source to produce the hydrogen ionizing photons is not revealed so far. Faint quasars have been expected to generate UV photon budgets required to maintain ionization state of universe. Observational limits, however, hinder to discover them despite their higher number density than bright one. Consequently, the influence of faint quasars on post-reionization are not considered sufficiently. Therefore, a survey to find faint quasars at z ~ 5 is crucial to determine the main ionizing source in the post-reionization era. Deep images from the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC SSP) allow us to search for quasar swith low luminosities in the ELAIS-N1 field. J band information are obtained by the Infrared Medium-deep Survey (IMS) and the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS) - Deep ExtragalacticSurvey (DXS). Faint quasar candidates were selected from several multi-band color cut criteria based on simulated quasars on color-color diagram. To choose the reliable candidates with possible Lyman break, we have performed medium-bands observations. Whether a candidate is a quasar or a dwarf star contamination was decided by results from chi-square minimization of quasar/dwarf model fitting. Spectroscopic follow-up observations confirm three quasars at z ~ 5. 100% spectral confirmation success rate implies that the medium-band observations effectively select faint quasars with strong Lyman alpha emission.
