8주간 Exercise Station을 이용한 운동프로그램이 노인의 균형능력 수행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of 8 Weeks of Exercise station training on balance ability for the elderly women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of 8weeks of exercise station training with elastic band and swissball on body compositions and balance ability for elderly women. Methods: This study was designed as a experimental pre-post exercise station training evaluation. The experimental group performed exercises with band and ball for 8 weeks. The effects of the program were assessed using instruments measuring the body compositions and balance ability before and after participating in the training program. Results: There were no significant differences in body compositions and index of falling down risk, however, there were significant differences with balance index, functional reach test and one leg stand test. Conclusion: These findings suggest that exercise station training with elastic band and swissball can serve as an effective means of improving balance ability in elderly women.

  • Purpose : This study investigated to find the therapeutical effects of functional weight bearing exercise on the balance and gait in stroke. Methods : The subjects of this study were 13 hemiplegia was exercised using functional weight support exercise for 5 weeks, all of whom agreed to participate in the study. All subjects were measured to see their balance and gait with a Pro-3 balance system and Gait analysis. In order to assure the statistical significance of the results, we used for SPSS 12.0 for windows. Results : The results of this study were as follows : 1) There were statistically significant difference in medial-lateral stability and overall stability index. 2) There were statistically significant in distance and gait velocity index. Conclusion : According the results of this study, functional weight bearing exercise is effect on the balance and gait for hemiplegia.

농경지 양분관리를 위한 양분수지 지표와 양분부하 지표간의 비교 (Comparison of nutrient balance and nutrient loading index for cultivated land nutrient management)

  • 최근 농경지 투입양분으로 인한 환경영향의 우려와 함께 하천 등으로 유출되는 양분의 오염부하 관리가 요구되고 있다. 이에 정부는 국내 농지의 양분 과잉 투입 문제를 해결하기 위해 농경지의 양분관리 목표를 설정하여 관리하는 양분관리제도의 도입을 추진하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 합리적인 양분관리제도 도입을 위한 양분관리 지표 기준을 설정하고자 도 단위의 양분부하와 양분수지 지표를 분석하고 지표별 특성을 비교 검토하였다. 도 단위 질소와 인성분의 양분부하와 양분수지 분석에서 지역별 양분부하 순위와 양분수지 순위가 다르게 나타나, 지역의 양분수준을 평가하는데 있어 양분부하와 양분수지의 두 지표는 서로 상이한 지표 값을 도출하는 것으로 나타났다. 양분부하와 양분수지 간의 상관관계 분석에서 질소성분의 경우 상관관계 계수(r)는 0.2504로서 5% 유의수준에서 통계적 유의성이 없었으며, 인성분의 경우 상관관계 계수(r)가 0.7375로서 5% 유의수준에서 통계적 유의성이 인정되었다. 따라서 양분관리 지표활용에 있어 인성분의 경우 양분부하와 양분수지 간의 상호 호환성이 나타났으나, 질소 성분의 경우 양분부하와 양분수지 간의 상호 호환성이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 지역의 양분관리 지표로서 농업환경 특성을 반영하는 양분수지 지표의 활용이 합리적인 것으로 평가되었다.

시지각 바이오피드백 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 및 자세조절에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Visual Bio-feedback Training on Balance and Postural Control in Stroke Patients)

  • Objectives : This study was to investigate the visual bio-feedback training for 5 weeks on balance and postural control for patients with stroke. Methods : The 26 subjects were randomly selected from the patients of the E hospital in the S city who met the study conditions. They were divided into a visual bio-feedback training group of 13 patients and a self-resistance exercise group of 13 patients. The visual bio-feedback training group received visual bio-feedback and general physiotherapy for five weeks and the self-resistance exercise group received cycling and general physiotherapy for the same period. The subjects were measured and compared for stability index, weight distribution index, fall down index, functional reach test and timed up and go test before and after the program. Results : The visual bio-feedback training group showed significant changes after the experiment in stability index, weight distribution index, functional reach test and timed up and go test(p<0.05), and the self-resistance exercise group also showed significant differences(p<0.05). The changes between prior to and after the experiment show that the visual bio-feedback training group had more significant effects than the self-resistance exercise group(p<0.05). Conclusions : The visual bio-feedback training for five weeks had effects in the improvement of the balance and posture control of stroke patients. Based on these results, more effective training programs should be developed and propagated.

심상 훈련이 정상성인의 균형에 미치는 효과 (Effects of mental practice on the balance of healthy adults)

  • This study aimed to examine the effects of mental practice on normal persons' balance ability. Thirty subjects that participated in the experiment were randomly assigned to an experimental group of 15 subjects and a control group of 15 subjects. Both the experimental group and the control group underwent balance training conducted in a sitting position on a gym ball for 20 minutes per time, five times per week for four weeks and the experimental group additionally underwent mental practice for 10 minutes before balance training. After the intervention, balance measuring equipment (Good Balance, Metitur, Finland) was used to quantitatively measure balance ability. Significant differences in the post-training gains in variable of Medial-lateral, Index of balance function, Time were observed between the experimental group and the control group (p<0.05). Both Application of mental practice with balance training aimed at improving balance ability is considered to have positive effect.

여대생의 비만에 따른 보행패턴, 근활성도 및 균형지수의 비교 (Comparisons of Gait Pattern, Muscle Activity and Balance Index according to Obesity in Female College Student)

  • 본 연구는 비만인의 보행과 관련된 근거자료를 제시하고 근골격계 질환 예방을 위한 임상적 자료로 활용하고자 시행하였다. 신체 건강한 여대생 40명을 정상체중집단(20명), 비만집단(20명)으로 분류하여 보행패턴(smartstep), 균형지수(biodex balance SD), 근활성도(surface EMG)를 정량적으로 측정하여 비교하였다. 연구결과, 정상체중집단에 비해 비만집단의 경우 체중으로 인한 압력과 부하를 이겨내고, 체중 증가로 인한 신체 불균형 상태에서 발목관절 움직임을 증가시켜 보행함으로써 발목 움직임에 작용하는 근육의 활성도가 더 높아짐을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 비만인의 하지 근골격계 질환예방을 위해서는 하지 근육의 근력강화 및 지속적인 균형훈련과 보행 훈련이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

  • 본 연구는 밸런스트레이닝이 대사증후군 지표 및 기능적 체력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 평상시 허리 및 어깨 통증을 호소하는 고령여성 16명을 대상으로 12주간의 밸런스트레이닝을 실시하였다. 또한 16명의 대상자 중 8명은 운동군(68.48세), 8명은 통제군(67.90세)으로 구분하여 트레이닝 프로그램의 효과를 검증하였다. 12주간의 밸런스트레이닝 전, 후의 대사증후군 지표와 기능적 체력을 살펴본 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 12주간의 밸런스트레이닝 전, 후 대사증후군 지표에서는 유의한 상호작용을 나타냈다. 둘째, 기능적 체력에서 12주간의 밸런스트레이닝 전, 후에 유의한 상호작용을 나타냈다. 이는 밸런스트레이닝이 고령여성의 대사증후군 지표의 긍정적 변화와 함께 기능적 체력에 긍정적 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 트레이닝 기간과 측정변인의 확대를 통해 밸런스트레이닝의 효과를 보다 명확하게 할 필요가 있다.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of Sacro-Occipital Technique with stroke on activity of daily living(ADL), leg function balance. Methods : Sacro-Occipital Technique at pelvic girdle was applied to six stroke-originated hemiplegic patients who had been treated by general oriental medicine rehabilitation therapy(sample group). The other five stroke-originated hemiplegic patients had only general oriental medicine rehabilitation therapy(control group). Outcomes were assessed by Modified Barthel Index(MBI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS) before and after treatment in each group. Results : Both sample and control group exhibited substantial improvements on the MBI and BBS. And BBS showed significantly meaningful differences between sample and control group. Conclusions : Sacro-Occipital Technique may be efficacious method of improving ADL, leg function balance of patients after stroke.

Effects of Horse Riding Simulator on Pain, Oswestry Disability Index and Balance in Adults with Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of Horse riding simulator exercise on pain, dysfunction and dynamic balance in adults with nonspecific chronic low back pain. METHODS: In this study, total 19 college students usually complain of low back pain who were randomly divided into the horse riding simulator exercise group (n=10), lumbar strengthening exercise group (n=9) were recruited. Each group carried out for 30 minutes exercise three times a week for 4 weeks. Horse riding simulator exercise group carried out 15 minutes horse riding simulator exercise and 15 minutes lumbar strengthening exercise. Lumbar strengthening exercise group carried out 30 minutes lumbar strengthening exercise. Visual analogue scale (VAS) were measured for evaluation back pain. Korean oswestry disability index (KODI) were measured for dysfunction. Limits of stability (LOS) were measured for dynamic balance. RESULTS: VAS, KODI, LOS results showed a significant change within both horse riding simulator exercise group, lumbar strengthening exercise group. CONCLUSION: Present study suggested that the horse riding simulator exercise can improve back pain, dysfunction, dynamic balance. Horse riding simulator exercise provides more convenience, interest and motivation than conversional therapy and it could be a possible approach to adults with nonspecific chronic low back pain.

Effects of an 8-week Pilates Core Training on the Stability and Symmetry of the L-sit on Rings

  • Objective: Gymnastics on rings needs a high level of muscle strength with balance ability for controlling the body. A study on a new balance training program is necessary for elite gymnasts. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of an 8-week pilates core-muscle training on balance ability and asymmetry index of the L-sit on the rings in male elite gymnasts. Method: Ten elite gymnasts (age: $20.6{\pm}0.7years$, height: $169.9{\pm}4.9cm$, weight: $65.4{\pm}5.6kg$, career duration: $20.6{\pm}0.7years$), who are students at K-university, participated in this study. Results: First, the range of the COM tended to decrease in the anterior-posterior direction. Second, the left hip joint angle and knee extension and ankle dorsiflexion angles significantly increased after the pilates training. Third, the ROM also increased. Fourth, the symmetry value increased in the hip angle, while the symmetry index in all joints of the ROM decreased. As a result, the pilates core-muscle training influenced the static balance ability during the L-sit on the rings. Conclusion: Accordingly, the pilates core-muscle training is suitable in enhancing the basic balance ability in gymnastics on rings.
