Development of Door Outer Panel using High Strength Steel Sheet for Improving Dent Resistance (내덴트성 향상을 위한 고강도 도어 외판 개발)

  • Dent resistance is an important characteristic to avoid damage on automotive outer panels. From a practical point of view, dents can be caused in a number of ways. Considering doors as an example, denting can occur from stone impacts or from the careless opening of an adjacently parked vehicle door. Denting can occur where the door surface is smooth and may not have sufficient curvature to resist dent. These exterior body parts are designed to improve dent resistance using a combination of work hardening and bake hardening. In brief, dent is affected by the shape of the parts and the material properties such as yield strength, strain and thickness. In this work, forming of door outer panel is investigated by Taguchi method. Main parameters are yield strength, thickness, blank size, blank holding force and so on. For the given value of design parameters, forming analysis of the eighteen cases are carried out according to L18 orthogonal array. After comparing the performance by simple conversion of simulation results into dent resistance, the final suggestion of the forming parameters is verified for the optimal improvement of dent resistance.

Asher 처리를 통한 Polyimide 표면 최적화

  • 최근 폴리이미드(Polyimide) 고분자 물질을 기판으로 하는 플렉시블 전자소자 구현에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. 폴리이미드는 수분 흡수율이 1% 이하인 소수성 물질로서 폴리이미드 기판 위 전극 형성에 있어 전극 물질이 분리되는 현상이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 소수성의 표면 성질을 갖는 폴리이미드 기판의 Asher 처리를 통한 표면 최적화에 대한 실험을 진행하였다. 유리기판 위에 액상 폴리이미드를 ${\sim}10{\mu}m$ 두께로 Spin coating 한 후 $120^{\circ}C$ hot plate에서의 soft bake와 $200^{\circ}C$, $320^{\circ}C$의 furnace에서의 단계적 cure 과정을 통해 표면의 defect을 최소화하였다. Microwave Asher 장비를 이용하여 폴리이미드 막에 10초, 15초, 20초 동안 asher 처리를 한 후 Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) 장비로 시간에 따른 폴리이미드 기판 표면의 변화를 확인하였다. AFM 확인 결과 10 초의 공정 조건에서 가장 우수한 표면 morphology를 보였으며, 이는 표면의 탄소와 이물질을 제거하기 위해 사용되는 asher 처리 시간이 상대적으로 증가함에 따라 폴리이미드 막의 탄소 성분이 제거 되면서 표면의 형상이 최적화 이상으로 변화하기 때문이다. 본 실험은 폴리이미드를 기반으로 하는 플렉시블 전자소자 구현에 있어 전극 및 소자 제작에 크게 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

Physico-chemical properties of whole sweetpotatoes on precooking and frozen storage (고구마의 가열방법과 저장성에 따른 이화학적 성질)

  • Sweetpotatoes were baked (BK), microwaved (MW), microwaved/baked (MWBK), and microwaved/hold/microwaved (MWHO). Sugars, Huntercolors, compression and shear forces, sensory scores, moisture content, starch, and alcohol insoluble solids (AIS) were determined for each treatment. The BK roots contained higher (p<0.05) amount of sugars and less (p<0.05) starch. The MW roots contained higher (p<0.05) amount of starch, AIS, and less (p<0.05) sugar. The BK product resulted in the least (p<0.05) compression and shear forces needed to break it. The MW product demanded the greatest (p<0.05) force. The MWHO showed very similar results to the BK. Sensory scores for the BK and the MWHO sweetpotatoes were very acceptable. In color scores, the MWHO products were very acceptable and similar to the BK in flavor.

Optimization of Sweet Rice Muffin Processing Prepared with Oak Mushroom (Lentinus edodes) Powder (표고버섯 첨가 찹쌀머핀의 최적화 및 품질특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to bake sweet rice muffins with oak mushroom ($Lentinus$ $edodes$) powder. The process included substituting sweet rice flour for cake flour and adding oak mushroom powder. This study determined the optimal mixing conditions of oak mushroom muffins by adjusting the amounts of oak mushroom powder, whole eggs, and soybean oil. The mixing conditions for the oak mushroom muffins included 3 categories: oak mushroom powder (X1), whole eggs (X2), and soybean oil (X3) by Central Composite Design (CCD) which was optimized by Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Oak mushroom muffin formulation was optimized using rheology. Yellowness (p<0.001) and redness (p<0.05) displayed a linear model pattern, whereas lightness (p<0.05) was represented by a quadratic model. Among the sensory properties, variables that appeared to show significant values such as appearance (p<0.5), texture (p<0.5), and overall quality (p<0.5) were used to identify optimums. The result of mechanical properties showed significant values in gumminess (p<0.5) and chewiness (p<0.5). The numerical and graphical methods used in this study determined that the optimum formulation for oak mushroom powder sweet rice muffins was 8.75 g of oak mushroom powder, 235.95 g of whole eggs, and 19.93 g of soybean oil.

Investigation and Analysis of Cracks in Multi-layer Ceramic Capacitor (다층세라믹 콘덴서에서 생성된 크랙의 관찰과 분석)

  • For the Y5V characteristic MLCC which is very prone to crack, it is important to to find out the basic cause of the crack. After finding out the crack origin, the materials and processes should be developed to remove the crack. The microstructures of the cracks were investigated using the fractographic method for the various types of cracks such as an exterior crack, a cyclic thermal shock crack, and an piezo-electric crack. It was found out that the crack origin was the pore at the end of the Ni inner electrode after bake-out. Even though the three dimensional crack shapes were different, the crack origins were seemed to be similar. The exterior crack could grow from the origin with the aids of residual and applied stress. FEM (finite element method) analysis was used to calculate the stress distribution of residual and applied stress. And the concept of fracture mechanics was applied for the explanation of the crack initiation and propagation from the stresses concentration.

Effects of Flush-out in the Reduction of Formaldehyde in Newly Built Residential Buildings (신축 공동주택에서 플러쉬아웃에 따른 폼알데하이드 농도 저감 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm the effects of flush-out in the reduction of formaldehyde concentration in newly built residential buildings. The field measurements were conducted on two complexes of multi-residential buildings which are located in the suburban area of Seoul. About eight samples of residential buildings were selected to measure the changes in formaldehyde concentrations after flush-out from the two apartment complexes. The concentration of formaldehyde was measured using DNPH cartridge and HPLC. From the results of the field measurements, it was established that indoor formaldehyde concentration decreases 27.6~54.2% in the samples after flush-out. The number of days that the flush-out were conducted was noted to have no significant influence on the reduction rate of formaldehyde concentration when the flush-out continued more than 7 days. The comparison with Bake-out showed that flush-out also can reduce formaldehyde in newly built buildings as same levels of it.

Food Materials of Ancient Israel (고대 이스라엘 식품 재료에 관한 고찰)

  • This study was conducted to research the differences in food ingredients in the ancient Israelite period in the books of Moses, including the books of Geneses through Deuteronomy, in the Old Testament written during B.C $1446{\sim}1406$. The books introduced various foods in daily life, such as seven kinds of fruits and nuts, thirteen kinds of vegetables and grains, twelve kinds of meats, six kinds of breads and cookies, five kinds of drinks, thirteen kinds of spices, and five kinds of processed foods like butter and oil. The foods were sharply distinguished between the clean (able to eat) and the unclean (unable to eat) in the aspect of food culture. For example, foods with blood were not allowed to be eaten. At that time, bread was a staple food in Israel. There were already standard recipes for baking cookies, and appliances such as frying pans and ovens to bake bread were available. Most of the recipes in the books were the same as modern recipes, especially for wine, grape juice and raisins. Also it seems there were various spices already in use at that time, as well as processed foods made from milk.

A Study on the Performances of Hybrid type Electric Brake System (하이브리드형 전기식 제동장치의 성능에 대한 연구)

  • This study proposes a new conceptual Hybrid Electric Brake System (HEBS) which overcomes problems of a conventional hydraulic brake system. HEBS adopt a contactless type bake system when a vehicle speed is high, to obtain superior braking performances by eddy current. On the contrary, when a vehicle speed is low, HEBS employs a contact type brake system such as conventional hydraulic brake system to generate higher brake force. Therefore, HEBS transfers faster the braking intention of drivers and guarantees the safety of drivers. Braking torque analysis is performed by using a mathematical model which is proposed to investigate the characteristic of a vehicle dynamics when the brake torque is applied. Optimal torque control is achieved by maintaining a desired slip corresponding to the road condition. The results show that HEBS reduces the stopping distance, saves the electric energy, and increases the stability.

The Effect on the Granodiorite Suspension Coated Indoor Finishing Materials for Reduction of TVOC Emissions (실내 마감재료의 TVOC 방출 저감을 위한 화강섬록암 현탁액 도포효과)

  • The environment draws attention in the global community and a growing number of Koreans have interest in improving the quality of life, the importance of house environment has attracted the attention of the public. Against this backdrop, constructors have unveiled environmentally -friendly projects. However, they failed to establish people-oriented environment by being occupied with maximizing profitability through the improvement of brand image and caused sick house syndrome that has recently made controversy. In this regard, the study analyzed the mechanism of discharge of TVOC, one of the sick house syndrome-causing materials, that affects IAQ and its characteristics and examined the effect that granodiorite has on reduction of the discharge of TVOC in order to minimize damage. Experimental sample consisted of interior finishing materials frequently used in ceiling, wall and floor and adhesives used at a time of construction, and the TVOC of building materials was measured through the use of septum bottle unlike In the existing chamber method. Measures to counter the sick house syndrome were suggested by reducing the possible damage from the stage of selection of building material and by figuring out the effect that the granodiorite has on reduction of the discharge of TVOC.

Study on Via hole formation in multi layer MCM-D substrate using photosensitive BCB (감광성 BCB를 사용한 다층 MCM-D 기판에서 비아홀 형성에 관한 연구)

  • Via for achieving reliable fabrication of MCM-D substrate was formed on the photosensitive BCB layer. MCM-D substrate consists of photosensitive BCB(Benzocyclobutene) interlayer dielectric and copper conductors. In order to form the vias in photosensitive BCB layer, the process of BCB and plasme etch using $C_2$F$_{6}$ gas were evaluated. The thickness of BCB after soft bake was shrunk down to 60% of the original. AES analysis was done on two vias, one is etched in $C_2$F$_{6}$ gas and the other is non etched. On via etched in $C_2$F$_{6}$, native C was detected and the amount of native C was reduced after Ar sputter. On via non etched in $C_2$F$_{6}$, organic C was detected and amount of organic C was reduced a little after Ar sputter. As a result of AES, BCB residue was not removed by Ar sputter, so plasma etch is necessary for achieving reliable via.ble via.
