The purpose of this study was to provide basic references in order to improve the quality of military foodservice by investigating the eating behavior, preferred items for improvement and foodservice satisfaction of male military personnel in Backrung do. A total of 213 male military personnel (66 sergeants, 44 corporals, 80 privates first class and 27 privates third class) responded to a survey questionnaire. Frequencies, t tests, analysis of variance, and Cronbach's alpha, were carried out by SPSS Win V.18.0. The results of the study were as follows. The satisfaction level of military foodservice was slightly below 3 out of 5 points, and Korean cuisine was the favorite food. Military male personnel preferred frying and stewing as their favorite cooking methods. Sixty-six percent of subjects answered that their favorite principal ingredients were meat and fish. Therefore, as young soldiers' taste preferences were westernized, proper nutrition education programs for good health are needed. Further, the current military dining environment should be changed into a quiet and neat atmosphere, with clean dishes, nutritious meal items, and quick and proper serving methods, etc. Based on the results above, military authorities should develop an adequate menu for the male military personnel at Backrung do military base that includes a variety of foods, and cooking methods.

Jikgeum(woven with supplementary golden wefts) hyungbae(rank badge) of danryung(official uniform) excavated from Im Backryung'tomb($1498{\sim}1546$) of the Joseon dynasty($1392{\sim}1910$) at Goyang, Gyunggi-Do in 2007, was in a critical condition because of serious collapse of substrate in metal thread. For conservation of hyungbae, metal thread was examined by different scientific methods(Light Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive X-Rray Spectrometry(SEM-EDS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR)). Analytical data showed that metal thread was gilt membrane strip composed of gold leaves and proteinaceous substrate which was probably parchment. To protect collapse of substrate, 1% solution of Paraloid B-72 was infilterated into substrate for consolidation of substrate and it was adhered to warp of fabric in hyungbae, before wet cleaning. After wet cleaning, the most of the gold leaves were restored, which was confirmed by both the examination with the naked eye and the microscopic examination.

참나리 2, 3배체 복합 배수성 집단에서 형태적, 지리적 분화를 명확히 하기 위해서 173개 군락에서 수집된 참나리의 38개 형질에 대한 분산분석(ANOVA)과 주성분분석(PCA)을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 173개 참나리 개재들은 배수성에 의해 78개의 2배체와 95 개체의 3배체로 구분되었고, 3배체는 지리적 분포와 형태적 특성에 의해 73개의 내륙 3배체(남한 전지역)와 20개의 섬지역 3배체(백령도와 소청도)로 구분되었다. ANOVA분석에서 섬지역 3배체는 잎과 꽃의 여러 형질들에 의해 내륙의 3배체와 뚜렷한 형태적 차이를 나타내었다. 주성분 분석에 의한 누적기여율은 4차 주성분까지 44.1%를 나타내었고, 주성분분석에서 2배체는 긴 초장, 작은 꽃의 형질들, 높은 화분임성, 더 많은 기공 수 등의 형질에 의해 내륙의 3배체와 구분되었다. 섬지역 3배체도 약간의 중복은 있었으나 1, 2차 주성분에 대한 2차원 분포도에서 서로 구분되었다. 한편, 배수성이 다를지라도 섬지역 3배체와 2배체는 주성분 1과 2의 요인에 의해 완전한 중복을 나타내었다. 이러한 사실은 섬지역 3배체와 2배체가 외형적으로 유사하다는 것을 반영한다. 이와 같이 섬지역과 내륙의 3배체의 형태적 차이는 지리적 기원을 반영하는 것으로 생각된다.
