This paper describes a effective information compressor algorithm for the fourth industrial technology. One of the difficult problems for outdoor is to obtain effective updating process of background images. Because input images generally contain the shadows of buildings, trees, moving clouds and other objects, they are changed by lapse of time and variation of illumination. They provide the lowering of performance for surveillance system under outdoor. In this paper, a effective information algorithm for variable environment variable under outdoor is proposed, which apply the Kalman Estimation Modeling and adaptive threshold on pixel level to separate foreground and background images from current input image. In results, the better SNR of about 3dB~5dB and about 10%~25% noise distribution rate in the proposed method. Furthermore, it was showed that the moving objects can be detected on various shadows under outdoor and better result Information.

In this paper, we propose stopped vehicle detection algorithm in the tunnel. It is shown that our method distinguished objects from background estimated image, and then detected stopped vehicles efficiently based on the experimental analysis about the color information of their lamps. The simulation results show the detection rate is achieved over 95% in the tunnel image.
Automatic segmentation of foreground text from the background in degraded document images is very much essential for the smooth reading of the document content and recognition tasks by machine. In this paper, we present a novel approach to the binarization of degraded document images. The proposed method uses a new local contrast feature extracted based on the stroke width of text. First, a pre-processing method is carried out for noise removal. Text boundary detection is then performed on the image constructed from the contrast feature. Then local estimation follows to extract text from the background. Finally, a refinement procedure is applied to the binarized image as a post-processing step to improve the quality of the final results. Experiments and comparisons of extracting text from degraded handwriting and machine-printed document image against some well-known binarization algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
The Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera combined with a small aperture telescope is an efficient equipment for an astronomy-related lab exercise. This paper compares the different photometry softwares to provide insights on using the GUI-based photometry tool to the conventional command-line based photometry tool. The magnitude of the same point source measured within the aperture is consistent regardless of the software used although the background estimation, partial pixel treatment, and error estimation are slightly different. In a crowded field image where the aperture photometry is less reliable, the aperture photometry with varying aperture size is useful to see the qualitative trend for the magnitude. Due to the variation in ISO settings and the color dependence on the RGB Bayer system, an initial uncertainty of ~0.15mag is expected to be embedded in the magnitude derived from the DSLR images.

This paper is concerned with the simulator to estimate deformation due to welding of panel blocks. An efficient computer program system has been developed which can be applied to estimation of weld-induced deformation under the given welding conditions. The theoretical background of the present simulator is described with the prediction model for the various type of weld-induced deformation. The developed simulator has been applied to estimation of weld-induced deformation in panel block assembly. This paper ends with some findings from applying the developed simulator.
Fast block motion estimation technique is proposed to reduce the computational complexity in video coding. In the conventional methods the size of search region is fixed. For small motion regions like background the small size of sea of search region is enough to find a block motion. But for active motion regions the large size of search region is preferred to figure out the accurate motion vector. Therefore, it is reasonable that a block motion is estimated in the variable search region (both the size and the position of it). That is to say, the search region varies according to the predicted motion characteristics of a block. The block motion in video frames has temporal continuity and then the search region of a current block is predicted using the block motion of previous blocks. The computational complexity of the proposed technique is significantly reduced with a good picture quality compared to the conventional methods.
In this paper, we propose a fast and practical head pose estimation scheme fur eye-head controlled human computer interface with non-constrained background. The method we propose uses complete graph matching from thresholded images and the two blocks showing the greatest similarity are selected as eyes, we also locate mouth and nostrils in turn using the eye location information and size information. The average computing time of the image(360*240) is within 0.2(sec) and we employ template matching method using angles between facial features for head pose estimation. It has been tested on several sequential facial images with different illuminating conditions and varied head poses, It returned quite a satisfactory performance in both speed and accuracy.
Background: Motor unit number estimation (MUNE) can directly assess motor neuron populations in muscle and quantify the degree of physiologic and/or pathologic motor neuron degeneration. A high degree of reproducibility and reliability is required from a good quantitative tool. MUNE, in various ways, is being increasingly applied clinically and statistical MUNE has several advantages over alternative techniques. Nevertheless, the optimal method of applying statistical MUNE to improve reproducibility has not been established. Methods: We performed statistical MUNE by selecting the most compensated compound muscle action potential (CMAP) area as a test area and modified the results obtained by weighted mean surface-recorded motor unit potential (SMUP). Results: MUNE measures in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients showed better reproducibility with sizeweighted modification. Conclusions: We suggest size-weighted MUNE testing of "neurogenically compensated"CMAP areas present an optimal method for statistical MUNE in ALS patients.
This paper is concerned with the simulator's ability to estimate deformation due to welding of panel blocks. An efficient computer program system has been developed which can be applied both to estimation of weld-induced deformation, under the given welding conditions, and to reflection of effect when methods for deformation control of are applied. This paper briefly describes the background of the present simulator and shows some results applying the simulator to the estimation of weld-induced deformation. In addition, the results when methods for deformation control are applied are also included.
Determination of allowable overtopping rate for coastal structure is a key point to determine the application of background of coastal structure while considering safety and economic efficiency. Thus, the accurate estimation of overtopping rate against coastal structure is essential. In general, estimation of overtopping against the coastal structure is based on an empirical formula or hydraulic experiment. In this study, we investigate the behavior of overtopping for rubble mound coastal structure with rubble armor stone and wave dissipating block using hydraulics experiment, and domestic or foreign design standard.
