Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Meat Yield of Boer Goats Fed Diets Containing Leaves or Whole Parts of Andrographis paniculata

  • The study was conducted to determine the effect of feeding diets containing Andrographis paniculata leaves (APL), whole Andrographis paniculata plant (APWP) and a control without Andrographis paniculata (AP0), on growth performance, carcass characteristics and meat yield of 24 intact Boer bucks. The results obtained indicated that inclusion of Andrographis paniculata significantly improved feed intake, weight gain, feed efficiency and live weight. The ratios of carcass to fat, lean to bone, lean to fat, and composition of meat were also improved. In addition, there were significant differences (p<0.05) between the dietary treatments in dressing percentage and chilling loss. Goats fed on AP0 (control) had significantly higher proportions of fat and bone, as well as thicker back fat than the supplemented animals (APL and APWP). Higher gut fill in animals fed Andrographis paniculata suggested slow rate of digestion, which could have improved utilization and absorption of nutrients by the animals. Goats fed Andrographis paniculata also produced higher meat yield and relatively lower fat contents (p<0.05).

  • Untill to-day the disposal of municipal refuse in Korea is entirely depending on dumping the refuse into concave land except a few case that bring about the secondary pollution by generating insects, offensive odour and the dust blow which cause adverse effects to dwelling community in the vicinity. It is widely recognized since Korea is ready to be advanced nation must be carried out the proper way of refuse disposal as meet with the environmental standard and ready to accept by general public. Refuse disposal that is practiced by world wide is known as sanitary landfill although it bears some what the expensive construction and operation costs rather than the plain dumping. The following statement is the construction of sanitary landfill in brief. When one takes a look at the Unites States which has huge territory normaly carry out the refuse disposal by anaerobic improved landfill method while the country has limitted land is experimenting various types of landfill which bring about the earier reuse of completed landfill site and minimise the secondary pollution. The author of this article consider out of several landfill methods the semi aerobic landfill will be widely applied in Korea in coming day, the following article will elaborate little more about the semi aerobic method.

  • 스테인레스 스틸 유연기판 위에 플라즈마 화학기상 증착법 (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition)을 이용하여 nip 구조의 미세결정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지 (microcrystalline silicon thin film solar cell)를 제조하고 i ${\mu}c$-Si:H광 흡수층과 p ${\mu}c$-Si:H 사이에 i a-Si:H 버퍼 층을 삽입하여 i/p 계면특성을 개선하고 이에 따른 태양전지 성능특성 변화를 조사하였다. ${\mu}c$-Si:H 박막으로 이루어진 i/p 계면에서의 구조적, 전기적 결함은 태양전지 내에서 생성된 캐리어의 재결합과 shunt resistance 감소를 초래하여 개방전압 (open circuit voltage) 및 곡선 인자 (fill factor)를 감소시키는 것으로 알려졌다. 제조된 미세결정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지는 SUS/Ag/ZnO:Al/n ${\mu}c$-Si:H/i ${\mu}c$-Si:H/p ${\mu}c$-Si:H 구조로 제작되었으며 i/p 계면 사이의 i a-Si;H 버퍼층 두께를 변화시키고 이에 따른 태양전지의 특성을 조사하였다. 태양전지의 구조적, 전기적 특성 변화는 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), UV-visible-nIR spectrometry, Photo IV와 Dark IV를 통하여 조사하였다.

  • The origin of Minivan styled RV dates all the way back to the year 1959 when Volkswagen introduced the Microbus in Germany. But the new category of "Minivan" was made, and first used by Chrysler. This was when Chrysler revealed a new vehicle in 1982 named "Minivan". Minivan was successful in gathering the public attention with it′s multi-purpose characteristic. Ever since, many models were introduced in this category by various auto-makers around the world, which made the Minivan segment very competitive. Various Minivans were also introduced by the Korean auto-makers and these models have been finding their place rapidly in the market owing to their unique characteristics. But the reason for the growth of the Minivan category in Korea was quite different from that of other nations. Through out this thesis, the possibilities of a Minivan that can full fill the needs of a new life style of a family in the basis of various documentary records will be discussed. Ways of making roads, where bigger sized Minivans are continuously increasing, more efficient will also be considered. The main topic of this thesis will be about Minivan styled RV(Recreational vehicle) in relation to the change of Korean life style.

Effect of Buried Contact on the Epitaxial Base Silicon Solar Cell (에피텍셜 베이스 실리콘 태양전지에서 Buried Contact 효과)

  • The new epitaxial base cell as a high efficiency Si solar cell was fabricated and the effect of buried contact on the cell characteristics was investigated. In our experiments, the cell with buried contact showed the open circuit voltage of 0.62 V, the short circuit current of 40 mA, the fill factor of 0.7, and the efficiency of 10% under the incident light of AM-1 100 ㎽/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The insertion of buried contact in the epitaxial base structure brought the fabricated cell to the efficiency improvement of about 33%. The cell proposed in this paper has the structural superiority in the fabrication of high efficiency solar cell due to the carrier drift transport in the optical absorption region and the formation of back surface field by $p^{-}$ $p^{+}$ epitaxial base, and the reduction of emitter series resistance by n+ buried contact.

  • The reasonable static and dynamic earth pressure equations were developed by applying the Dubrova's theory and Chang's method to the following cases of wall movements; (1) Active case rotating about the top (2) Active case rotating about the bottom (3) Passive case rotating about the top (4) Passive case rotating about the bottom The equations are presented in accordance with particular wall displacements for the sand and cohesive back-fill, respectively. The results computed by the proposed equations are compared with the conventional theoretical values.

  • Bi-layer Mo films were deposited on sodalime glass substrates using DC magnetron sputtering. As the gas pressure and power density, the resistivity varied from $1.5{\times}10^{-5}$ to $4.97{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$. Furthermore, stress direction yielded compressive-to-tensile transition stress curves. The microstructure of the compressive stress films which had poor adhesion consists of tightly packed columns, but of the tensile-stressed films had less dense structure. Under all gas pressure conditions, Mo films exhibited distinctly increasing optical reflection with decreasing gas pressure. The expansion of (110) peak width with the gas pressure meant the worse crystalline growth. Also, The highest efficiency was 15.2% on 0.2 $cm^2$. The fill factor, open circuit voltage and short circuit current were 63 %, 570 mV and 42.6 mA/$cm^2$ respectively.

  • TSV(through silicon via) filling technology is making a hole in Si wafer and electrically connecting technique between front and back of Si die by filling with conductive metal. This technology allows that a three-dimensionally connected Si die can make without a large number of wire-bonding. These TSV technologies require various engineering skills such as forming a via hole, forming a functional thin film, filling a conductive metal, polishing a wafer, chip stacking and TSV reliability analysis. This paper addresses the TSV filling using Cu electrodeposition. The impact of plating conditions with additives and current density on electrodeposition will be considered. There are additives such as accelerator, inhibitor, leveler, etc. suitably controlling the amount of the additive is important. Also, in order to fill conductive material in whole TSV hole, current wave forms such as PR(pulse reverse), PPR(periodic pulse reverse) are used. This study about semiconductor packaging will be able to contribute to the commercialization of 3D TSV technology.

  • The new textured surface epitaxial base(TSEB) cell as a high efficiency Si solar cell was fabricated and its eletro-optical characteristics were investigated. The fabricated device showed the open circuit voltage of 0.62 V, the short circuit current of 40 mA, the fill factor of 0.7, and the efficiency of 16% under the incident light of AM-1 100 mW/$cm^2$. The TSEB cell proposed in this paper has the structural superiority in the fabrication of high efficiency solar cell due to the carrier drift transport in the optical absorption region and the formation of back surface field by $P^-/P^+$ epitaxial base, and the low emitter series resistance by insertion of $n^+$ buried contact.

  • In this study, the upper bound theory is applied to a reinforced slope to develop an limit state analysis method. As processing of this upper bound theory in formulating finite element, the basic idea of numerical method can be obtained from a macroscopic point of view with an anisotropic homogeneous material. The reinforced soil strength reliability depends on properties of reinforcements which consist of the interaction of interfaces between back fill and reinforcements. Both soil's mechanical property and overall behaviour of reinforced soil can be controlled via arranging geometry and relative proportions of reinforced soil. Therefore, the upper bound theory can not only predict the particular limit state action of reinforced soil slope but also is efficiently able to estimate the local plastic failure.
