Simulation Study of the Bus Progression Signal System ("버스연동신호의 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • Buses arrive at a traffic intersection later than passenger cars by the amount of dwell time at previous bus stops. This late arrival of buses affects the total passenger delay at intersections especially in the street carrying large bus volume. The bus progression signal system in which the signal offset is given in favor of bus platoons was applied in the case area of Kangnam street in Seoul, and various effects were analyzed using the TRANSYT-7F simulation model. It was observed that the total passenger delay can be reduced significantly if the bus progression signal system is applied, and the most effective bus priority treatment is proved to be the bus progression signal system installed with exclusive bus lanes.

  • In electrolysis smelting plants that using high DC current, the bus bar is most important facility for delivering the high current. The copper made bus bar is widely used for various advantages as good electrical and thermal conductivity, resonable malleability, ductility, and not rust easily. However, when high current in copper bus bar, temperature rises and maximum allowable current capacity is restricted by temperature of bus bar. In this paper, we investigated temperature variation of copper bus bar by putting cooling water channel imposed to bus bar construction. For the validity, various simulations were carried out.

  • The multi-layer advanced high-performance bus (ML-AHB) BusMatrix proposed by ARM is an excellent architecture for applying embedded systems with low power. However, there is one clock cycle delay for each master in the ML-AHB BusMatrix of the advanced microcontroller bus architecture (AMBA) design kit (ADK) whenever a master starts new transactions or changes the slave layers. In this letter, we propose an improved design method to remove the one clock cycle delay in the ML-AHB BusMatrix of an ADK. We also remarkably reduce the total area and power consumption of the ML-AHB BusMatrix of an ADK with the elimination of the heavy input stages.

  • Recently, by focusing on the BIS (Bus Information System) which can provide passengers with real -time bus operation information as a method to improve bus transport allotment ratio, the bus information system has been studied for a decade years. Based on such a trend, this paper analyzes the existing bus information system, as the basis of the results obtained, designs an experimental bus information system which is based on a computer, a zigbee communication, several line tracers.

  • In this paper, AXI4 BUS was implemented using Verilator and C/C++ for verification of SoC platform H/W IP which is based on AXI4 BUS. In this paper we proposed a method to verify the AXI4 BUS based SoC platform H / W IP by implemented AXI4 BUS on PC using Verilator and C/C++. The result shows AXI4 BUS based H/W IP that is verified by implemented AXI4 BUS is to perform the same behavior on FPGA environment.

A Design of an Effective Bus-Invert Coding Circuit Using Flip-Driver (Flip-Driver를 이용한 효율적인 Bus-Invert Coding 회로의 설계)

  • A new circuit design for Bus-Invert Coding is presented in this paper. The new scheme sends the coding information through the bus-lines instead of the invert-line which has been used conventionally for many types of Bus-Invert algorithms. By employing a newly developed bus-driver called Flip-Driver and a selection circuit, it not only removes the invert-line but suppresses the additional bus-transitions in sending coding information. It is verified by simulations that the efficiency of various Bus-Invert algorithms is increased about 40% to 100% by employing the new design.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide a convenient platform for bus users and a platform to provide tourist services suitable for bus tourism as integrated services. Recently, the number of FIT tourists for recreational purposes using public transportation is increasing as the bus use environment is improved. Accordingly, we need a tourist platform that meets the needs of tourists. In particular, a bus information providing algorithm is implemented using a bus information public API to more conveniently use the bus information providing system, and a user use behavior data collection module and a data mining module To develop a contents platform based on a bus stop for bus tourism services to FIT tourists using public transportation.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose the bus information system that provides bus passenger number. Recently, we use a bus conveniently through introduction of bus information system offering location-based information. However, we need additional information for decision making in order to use a bus comfortably. To do this, first, we analyzed the needs of providing passenger number; second, we adopted GPS and RFID type's transportation card to get location and passenger number. Finally, we implemented the system displaying that information by three types, and tested it. Our proposed system has advantages to use a bus comfortably and to manage a bus efficiently by providing bus passenger number which is the important element for decision making as well as location based information provided by existing bus information systems.

Geometric Design of Bus Bay Based on Vehicle Trajectory Analysis (차량 이동궤적 기반 버스정차대 기하구조 연구)

  • PURPOSES : It is desirable for buses to be parallel to the face of the bus shelter at a bus stop. In this way, passengers can safely use the buses without moving into the vehicle area. The study was a review of the current bus bay geometric guidelines, to determine whether they lead buses to stop parallel to the face of the bus shelter by analyzing vehicle trajectory. METHODS : A commercial software program for vehicle trajectory analysis was used under our assumptions about bus dimensions and geometric values. The final position of the bus was analyzed for multiple trajectory simulations, reflecting various geometric alternatives. RESULTS : Within the scope of the study, we concluded that the current design guidelines need to be revised by the design values suggested by the study. CONCLUSIONS : The results of the study suggested alternative design values for bus bay geometry, based on the assumption that buses should be parallel to the face of the bus shelter in order to prevent passengers from moving into the vehicle area.
