This survey was carried out to investigate the effects of dietary attitude on the nutrition knowledge, food habits and the intake of instant food, convenience food and fast food between two groups of college women, a nutrition major group and nutrition non-major one. Questionnaires were completed by 214 nutrition majors and also by 145 non-majors. Nutrition majors showed better average in meal time regularities per week than nutrition non-majors. And nutrition non-majors had a higher frequency rate in taking of instant food and fast food than nutrition majors. In the case of both college women, those who take a meal regularly at each meal times have a higher score in food habits. The women who ate instant foods more frequently got a lower score in food habits, bot the frequency of the intake of instant foods did not affect the score of nutrition knowledge On the other hand, the women who had fast foods more frequently got a higher score in food habits and lower score in nutrition knowledge. When college women have a little of nutrition knowledge, they have a tendency to keep their meal time regularity and right dietary attitude pattern. In the dining-out pattern, the college women liked to eat flour foods and they preferred western foods than Korean foods. The motivation of food selection was for convenience and for time saving which were the reason for satisfaction to the products of food service industry. The products of food service industry were found to be unsatisfactory in nutrition and sanitation. Therefore, we must be mute aware of preventing the disappearance of Korean traditional foods and for developing dietary culture successively, the products of food service industry which are more suitable for Korean should be developed.
Hexagonal barium-ferrite ($BaFe_{12}O_{19}$, magnetoplumbite structure; BaM) film with perpendicularly c-axis orientation was successfully deposited on (100) silicon substrates with an MgO (111) underlayer by rf diode sputtering and in-situ heating at $920^{\circ}C$. The magnetic and structural properties of 0.27 ${\mu}m$ thick BaM films on MgO (111) underlayers were compared to films of the same thickness deposited onto single-crystal MgO (111) and c-plane ($000{\ell}$) sapphire ($Al_2O_3$) substrates by vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The thickness dependence of MgO (111) underlayers on silicon wafer was found to have a large effect on both magnetic and structural properties of the BaM film. The thickness of 15 nm MgO (111) underlayers produced BaM films with almost identical magnetic and structural properties as the single-crystal substrates; this can be explained by the lower surface roughness for thinner underlayer thicknesses. The magnetization saturation ($M_s$) and the ratio $H_{cII}/H_{c{\bot}}$ for the BaM film with a 15 nm MgO (111) underlayer is 217 emu/cc and 0.24, respectively. This is similar to the results for the BaM films deposited on the single-crystal MgO (111) and sapphire substrates of 197 emu/cc and 0.10, 200 emu/cc and 0.12, respectively. Therefore, the proposed MgO (111) underlayer can be used in many applications to promote c-axis orientation without the cost of expensive substrates.
Harn, Chang Yawl (Chonpuk U., Iri, Korea)-Studies on the interspecific crossing of FORSYTHIA genus. Kor. Jour. Bot. 4(1)1~8 1961: Interspecific crossing of two species, F. saxatilis and F. Koreana, was carried out in order to make clear the segregation ratio of style length, mode of fertility, the fertility of F1 generation, dioecism, and other taxonomic question, the result of which being summarized as follows: 1) Style length is segregated into 1:1 ratio. 2) The behaviro of fertility in the legitimate and illegitimate unions between the different species is exactly like that in the two dimorphic forms of the same species. 3) The mode of fertility between the long and short style of the F1 generation also follows that of the heterostyle plants. 4) No difficulties or irregularities are observed in the interspecific crossing and the F1's fertility. 5) In F1 generation exceedingly high morphological and physiological variations are observed. 6) The short style individual is well fertilized and sets seed when legitimately combined. The insistence that the short style is male, this genus being dioecious, is groundless. 7) Among F1 individuals, are observed a few dwarf-types with tiny and weak vegetative and reproductive organs. 8) The two species used behave in many ways like the different styles of the same species.
YIM, Kyong Bin (Coll. of Agriulture, Seoul National University) Effect of neutron and gamma irradiation on the germination of diploid and tetraploid rye seeds. Kor. Jour. Bot. VI(3):6-14, 1964. Tetraploid rye, Secale cereale 4x, was more tolerant to fast nuetron than diploid rye. Root growth was more suppressed than was seedling height in both diploid and tetraploid rye. A stimmulative effect on the dry weight of the shoot could be observed at very low doses of irradiation. It was the fact that the lower the moisture content of the seeds, the higher the radiosensitivity. Concerning seedling height growth, the effectiveness ratio of N/X equalled about 20.0 in diploid rye and about 18.2 in tettraploid rye, when the 50% dose ratios is used for this quotient calculaiton.
This study was executed to examine helical structure and other feature, of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger through photomicroscopic and scanning electron microscopic observation, and the obtained result, were summarized as follows: 1. Tracheid transition from springwood to summerwood was abrupt, mel slightly gradual in Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and summerwood width of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger was wider than that of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. 2. Normal vertical and horizontal resin canals and surrounding thick epithelial cells were present in Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but not present in Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. 3. Instead of helical thickening, helical chicks were observed only in summerwood trachieds of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger. However, helical thickenings forming S, Z., and horizontal helix perpendicular to long axis of tracheid were observed in springood and summerwood tracheids of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. and these helical thickenings were considered as analogous to the innermost layer of secondary wall. 4. Uniseriate and fusiform rays were appeared on tangential surface of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but oly uniserate ray was observed on tangential surface ot Taxus cuspidata S. et Z. The fusiform rays of Larix gmelinii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger usually contained one horizontal resin canal bot occasionally two horizontal resin canals were contained in a fusiform ray. 5. Trabeculae and crassulae were observed in the tracheids of Larix gmelimii var. principis-ruprechtii Pilger but not observed in the tracheids of Taxus cuspidata S. et Z.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) have been emphasized due to their threats in human health. Waste incinerator emission has been emphasized as a source of EDC including polychlorinateddibenzofurans(PCDD/F) and other carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Urinary 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHP) has been used as an exposure biomarker for the PAHs. On the other hand, etheno-DNA adducts, e.g. 1, $N^6-ethenodeoxyadenosine({\varepsilon}dA)$, has been developed as an useful effective or response biomarker for carcinogenesis. Thus, I investigated association between urinary 1-OHP and ${\varepsilon}dA$ levels due to distance from an incinerator which was built more 10 years ago in the middle of a farm in P city. I designated the EDC-high and low exposed group due to distance from the incinerator, i.e. within 2.5km and $5.0{\sim}7.5km$ from the incinerator, respectively. The study subjects were age and sex-matched males and females (mean age, $61.3{\pm}9.6$ yrs; total 40 persons, male, 10; female, 10 for the each group). Urinary 1-OHP and ${\varepsilon}dA$ were analyzed with HPLC-FD and IP-HPLC-FD, respectively. As results, the distance from the incinerator was not associated with urinary 1-OHP nor ${\varepsilon}dA$ levels (p=0.43 and 0.82, respectively). On the other hand, urinary ${\varepsilon}dA$ levels were significantly higher in the hyperlipidemia group (N=10) than normal group (N=30). In conclusion, urinary 1-OHP nor ${\varepsilon}dA$ levels can not be suggested as an incinerator-related exposure nor effective biomarker. However, not only distance from the incinerator bot also systemic approaches including wind and soil contamination are required to assume exposure levels of incinerator-related EDC.

A 5 kW class SOFC system for cogeneration power units was consisted of a hot box part and cold BOPs. High temperature components such as a stack, a fuel reformer, a catalytic combustor, and heat exchanges are arranged in the bot box considering their operating temperatures for the system efficiency. The hot box was made of ceramic boards for the thermal insulation. A 5 kW class SOFC stack was composed of 2 sub-modules and each module had 64 cells with $15{\times}15cm^2$ area and stainless steel interconnects. The 5 kW class SOFC system was operated with a hydrogen and a city gas. With a hydrogen, the total power of the stacks was about 7.1 kWDC and electrical efficiency was about 49.3% at 80 A. With a city gas, the total power of the stacks was about 5.7 $kW_{DC}$ and electrical efficiency was about 38.8% at 60 A. Under self-sustained operating condition, the system efficiency including a power conditioning loss and a consumed power by BOPs was about 30.2%.
In order to evaluate the effect of lipids on the utilization of the energy and protein of the diet, the isocaloric and isoprotein diets added with mutton fat, tallow, and lecithin at the levels of two percent and five percent were prepared. The growth of chicken and the feed efficiency were observed on hatched chicken which were fed a commercial diet for the first week, with starters for the next four weeks, and with finisher diets for the last three weeks respectively during the eight weeks of the experiment. Growth rate, feed efficiency, and average body weight gain per day were similar among the chicken fed diets containing various lipids or at the levels of two percent and five percent. The metabolize energy of the diets was found to be from 2.713 kcal to 3.059 kcal per gram, and the metabolizability of the gross energy was from 62 percent to 70 percent. Also the metabolizability of basal diet was higher as compared with the diets containing lipids. And the lower energy utiliztion was found in the broilers fed diets containing five percent lipids than those of two percent, showing not significant difference between them. Daily matabolizable energy of three week old brids ranged from 0.631 gr to 0.738 gr, which showed an increasing tendency on the birds fed five percent mutton fat and tallow in comparison with those of two percent. But the lecithin brought about a reverse tendency. The digestibility of crude fats was found to be from 48 percent to 76 percent, but bot significant difference among diets plus lipids or at the levels of two percent and five percent. The birds fed five percent mutton fat and tallow showed a tendency of lower digestibility as compared with those fed two percent, but the similar results were found between two percent and five percent lecithin fed to the birds. Then, it was tentatively concluded that the effect of the mutton fat on the energy and protein utilization was similar to tallow but resulted different tendency with lecithin.
CHA, Jong Whan (Dept. of Biology, Coll. of Education, Seoul National Univ.) Effect of Gibberelline on the growth and internal components of selected vegetable plants. Kor. Jour. Bot. V(3):11-20, 1962. The effect of GA on the growth as well as on the internal components of theleaves of ordinary vegetable plants under the soil culture was investigated. A relatively small difference in GA concentration applied showed a marked influence on the growth and constituents of the plants observed. The increase of growth was related to a highly significant digree with the intensity of GA. chlorophyll and carotene content in the leaves were significantly with increasing concentration of GA, except for some plants. The growth in all examined plants did not correspond to the contents of chlorophyll and carotene. In contrast the ascorbic acid in the leaves treated with GA decreased in proportion to the GA concentrations. Chlorophyll and ascorbic acid value differed greatly during the two experiments and the difference was proved significant. Carotene content varied with chlorophyll although the ratio of chlorophuyll to carotene was not so high as that obtained by Beak and Redman.

In the security field, log analysis is important to detect malware or abnormal behavior. Recently, image visualization techniques for malware dectection becomes to a major part of security. These techniques can also be used in online games. Users can leave a game when they felt bad experience from game bot, automatic hunting programs, malicious code, etc. This churning can damage online game's profit and longevity of service if game operators cannot detect this kind of events in time. In this paper, we propose a new technique of PNG image conversion based churn prediction to improve the efficiency of data analysis for the first. By using this log compression technique, we can reduce the size of log files by 52,849 times smaller and increase the analysis speed without features analysis. Second, we apply data mining technique to predict user's churn with a real dataset from Blade & Soul developed by NCSoft. As a result, we can identify potential churners with a high accuracy of 97%.
