Design and Implementation of Embedded LINUX-Based System for Iris Recognition System (홍채인식 시스템을 위한 임베디드 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we implemented embedded LNUX-based UI(User Interface) board which can be applied to Human Iris recognition product. for this purpose, we also analyzed and designed LNUX operating system and adapted boot loader, kernel, control program modules according to the developed H/W architectures. As the experimental results shows that Iris recognition system is operable and embedded LNUX-based UI board which is connected to heterogeneous system by TCP/IP protocol can both successfully send and receive data this UI board has been able to obtain high performance.

  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin layers have attracted lot of interests because of their application as display. One of the problems is red material. It offered a short life and poor emission efficiency to boot. In this study, this problem can be solved by using a multi-layer device structure. Organic electroluminescent devices which are composed of organic thin multi-layer films are fabricated. The basic structure is ITO / Emitting layer / LiP / Al EL device in which Hole transport/Electron blocking PVK layer was blending. We demonstrate the enhancement of eletroluminescence (EL) from blends of poly(3-hexylthiophene) in poly(N-vinylcarvazole). The emitting layer is consisted of a host material(PVK) and a guest emitting material(P3HT). It was showed higher EL intensity and their electro-optical properties were investigated.

  • The conventional hard disk has been the dominant database storage system for over 25 years. Recently, hybrid systems which incorporate the advantages of flash memory into the conventional hard disks are considered to be the next dominant storage systems to support databases for desktops and server computers. Their features are satisfying the requirements like enhanced data I/O, energy consumption and reduced boot time, and they are sufficient to hybrid storage systems as major database storages. However, we need to improve traditional index node management schemes based on B-Tree due to the relatively slow characteristics of hard disk operations, as compared to flash memory. In order to achieve this goal, we propose a new index node management scheme called FNC-Tree. FNC-Tree-based index node management enhanced search and update performance by caching data objects in unused free area of flash leaf nodes to reduce slow hard disk I/Os in index access processes.

  • 휴대폰에 임베디드 리눅스를 탑재하고자 할 경우 전력소모, 경량화, 빠른 부팅, 실시간, 보안 등과 관련한 추가고려사항이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 휴대폰용 임베디드 리눅스의 커널 부팅시간을 단축시키기 위한 구체적인 방법을 제시하고 실제적인 적용을 통하여 그 성능을 평가한다. 측정된 데이터를 바탕으로 커널내부에서 가장 많은 시간을 소요하는 함수들을 찾아내고 확인된 함수들에 대해서 초기화 지연회피, 불필요한 장치 드라이버 제거, 불필요한 커널 메시지 미출력 등의 기법들을 각각 적용한다. 제안된 기법을 모두 적용할 경우에 기존 커널 부팅시간을 50%정도 단축시킬 수 있었다.

  • Ascending aortic aneurysms are usually treated with graft replacement under cardiopulmonary bypass. However, if a candidate for off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting has an enlarged ascending aorta, surgeons may consider wrapping it without cardiopulmonary bypass. Here, we report a 78-year-old female who underwent successful wrapping of the ascending aorta concomitant with off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, using a new wrapping technique that involves multiple bootstraps.

  • The active site of cyclooxygenase was modeled by complementary receptor-cavity mapping procedure using 3D structures of the non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). A total of 50 NSAIDs were chosen as data ligands which compete the same site on the enzyme. Partial atomic charges were estimated, and the energetic differences for various conformations were calculated so as to meet the need for a most efficient overlapping of the probably-equivalent functional groups of the ligand molecules. The structure activity relationships of the NSAIDs, if available, were fully considered throughout the modeling. The overall shape of the model obtained is similar to a boot-without-bottom. Most of inner surface of the cavity appeared as hydrophobic; two polar counterparts except the carboxyl-binding position were found. By this model, some clear explanations could be given on the experimental observations which were not satisfiably understood yet.

  • Critical incident can be happened at any time, any places without any pre-notification. For minimizing the loss of the life safety, financial and so on caused by the risk, most of company needs a system what can activate the critical incident management plan to prevent, plan for and respond to events that become critical incident. But a lot of company still don't have such a detailed system in our country and almost company has no effective training way for to boot. This paper shows the way to activate the risk management system to work efficiently the plan. The training way, proposed by this paper, is a incident command simulator based on virtual reality and scenario generation software.

  • 정보화 시대에서 노트북을 도난당하는 것은 금전적인 손해 뿐만 아니라 작업 내용, 기밀 정보와 같은 금전적으로 환산할 수 없는 중요 정보들을 잃어버리는 점에서 그 피해와 손실이 크다. 본 논문에서는 노트북 도난에 의한 피해와 손실을 최소화 할 수 있는 도난 방지 부트로더 시스템을 제시한다. 시스템은 사용자 노트북의 부트로더 레벨에서 사용자 인증과 전방 사진 및 위치 정보를 수집하고 전송하여, 노트북 내 정보가 유출되는 것을 방지하는 동시에 범인 검거 및 노트북 회수를 위한 정보를 사용자에게 제공한다.

Compromise-Resistant Pairwise Key Establishments for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

  • This letter presents a pairwise key establishment scheme that is robust against the compromise of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks. Each node establishes local keys with its neighbor nodes that are at most three hops away at network boot-up time. When any two nodes establish a pairwise key, they receive the secret information from the nodes on the route between them, and construct the pairwise key using the secret information. Here, the local keys are utilized by the nodes on the route to send the secret information securely. The simulation results have proven that the proposed scheme provides better security than the key pre-distribution-based scheme.

An experimental study on aerodynamic critical phenomenon of notch-back car (노치-백 자동차의 공기역학적 임계 현상에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The aerodynamic critical phenomenon of notch-back type automobile-like bodies was investigated experimentally. The aerodynamic forces were measured for the various bodies of different back-light rake angle at R$_{e}$0.8*10$^{5}$ , 1.0*10$^{6}$ and 1.4*10$^{6}$ . Also, surface flow visualization was effected by the oil mixture. It was found that the critical phenomenon for the notch-back type bodies was milder than for the hatch-back type bodies; the drag vs. slant angle curve for the notch-back type bodies exhibiting local maximum was much smoother. Surface oil flow visualization revealed that the flow pattern associated with the critical phenomenon was characterized by the reattachment of the separated flow on the boot. The effect of the forebody on the critical phenomenon was seen to be negligible.e.
