Effect of Antioxidant on Development of Embryos in Korean Native Goats (한국 재래산양의 체외수정란 생산에 대한 항산화제의 효과)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 고유의 유전자원인 재래산양의 체내수정란 생산기술을 확립하고자 수행하였다. 흡입법(aspiration)과 세절법(slicing)에 의해 난소 한 개당 회수된 난자의 수는 3.9개와 4.1개를 나타내어 slicing방법이 aspiration방법보다는 많은 숫자의 난자를 회수하였으나 유의적인 차이는 나타내지 않았다. 회수된 난자의 등급별 분포는 aspiration방법에서 Grade I, Grade II, Grade III, Grade IV의 비율이 10.3%, 20.5%, 38.5%, 30.8%를 나타내었으며, slicing법에서는 9.8%, 22.0%, 39.0%, 29.3%를 나타내어 Grade III과 Grade IV의 비율이 70% 이상을 차지하였다. 회수된 난자를 체외성숙 시킨 결과 Grade I과 Grade II에서는 85% 이상이 metaphase H (MII)까지 도달하였으나, Grade III과 Grade IV는 40% 이하의 체외성숙율을 나타내었다. 체외수정용 배양액으로 BO를 사용하였을 경우 Grade I 및 II에서 84.4%의 난분할율을 나타내어 TALP를 사용하였을 때의 58.8%보다 높은 난할율을 보였다. 또한 배양액의 종류별 체외발달율에 있어서는 상실배 및 배반포기배로의 발달은 mSOF를 배양액으로 이용하였을 경우 15.0%의 발달율을 나타내었으며, 체외배양 시 항산화물질인 glutathione (GSH)을 첨가함으로서 26.8%의 상실배 및 배반포배로의 발달율을 나타내었다.

  • chondroitin sulfates were isolated from the mud snail. For the quantitative analysis of enzymatic digestion products of isolated chondroitin sulfates, strong anion exchange-high performance liquid chromatography (SAX-HPLC) was performed. by the action of chondroitinase ABC, three unsaturated disaccharides$ 2-acetamide-2-deoxy-3-O-({\beta}-D-gluco-4-enepyranosyluronic acid)-D-galactose $$({\Delta}Di-OS), $2-acetamide-2-deoxy-3-O-({\beta}-D-gluco-4-enepyranosyluronic acid)-6-O-sulfo-D-galactose ({\Delta}Di-6S) and 2-acetamide-2-deoxy-3-O-({\beta}-D-gluco-4-enepyranosyluronic acid)-4-O-sulfo-D-galactose ({\Delta}Di-4S)$ were produced from the mud snail chondroitin sulfates. The analysis showed that relative proportion of ${\Delta}Di-OS/{\Delta}Di-6S/{\Delta}Di-4S$ was 58.7/3.1/38.2. The immunomodulating activity of chondroitin sulfate was examined by cell proliferation assay and these results suggest that it might be a immunosuppressant.

Emission Characteristics of Odorous Sulfur Gases from Food Types: A Case Study on Boiled Egg, Milk, Canned Meat, and Strawberry (음식물의 악취 황화합물 발생특성 조사: 계란, 우유, 고기통조림, 딸기에 대한 사례 연구)

  • In this study, the emission patterns of reduced sulfur compounds (RSC) were investigated using four different types of food samples (boiled egg, milk, canned meat and strawberry) between fresh and decaying stages. To this end, the concentrations of RSCs were measured at storage days of 0, 1, 3, 6, and 9 under room temperature. Four sulfur compounds ($H_2S$, $CH_3SH$, DMS and DMDS) were selected as target compounds along with two reference compounds ($CS_2$ and $SO_2$). Their concentrations were quantified using GC-PFPD equipped with thermal desorption (TD) system. The boiled egg showed the highest concentration of $H_2S$ (3,655 ppb) at D-1, while $CH_3SH$ reached its maximum value of 64.4~78.5 ppb after 3 days. In milk samples, concentration of $CH_3SH$, DMS, and DMDS went up to 487, 16.3, and 578 ppb, respectively with the progress of decay (D-9). In case of canned meat, concentration of $H_2S$ and $CH_3SH$ peaked in the beginning (D-0) such as 345 and 66.6 ppb. In case of strawberry, $CH_3SH$ and DMDS showed the maximum concentrations 135 and 50.5 ppb at D-1, respectively. The olfactometry dilution-to-threshold (D/T) ratio by air dilution sensory (ADS) test showed similar patterns when sum of odor intensity (SOI) was derived via conversion of odorant concentration data. The results of this study confirm that the time of strong RSC emissions is distinguished for each food type between fresh (e.g., strawberries) and decaying conditions (e.g., milk).

Performance and Meat Quality of Three-Crossbreed Korean Native Chickens (KNC) (한국토종닭 3원교배종의 생산성과 육질 특성)

  • The current work was carried out to investigate the effect of crossbred Korean native chickens (KNC) on performance and meat quality. A total of 720 chicks (1d of age) was used in this work and were divided into groups by crossbreds (A, B, C and D) and sex (male and female). Crossbreds were A) (KNC egg-meat type C strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type S strains) ${\times}$ Ross broiler, B) (KNC egg-meat type C strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type H strains) ${\times}$ KNC meat type S strains, C) (KNC native R strains${\times}$KNC meat type S strains)${\times}$KNC meat type H strains and D(White Semibroiler Chickens). Experimental diets consisted of 3 phases such as starter (0~5 weeks; CP 20.0%, ME 3,050 kcal/kg), earlier (5~8 weeks; CP 18.0%, ME 3,100 kcal/kg) and finisher (8~12 weeks; CP 16.0%, ME 3,150 kcal/kg). They were fed the broiler diets for 12 weeks at the flat house and thirty six chickens were slaughtered at week 5 and 10. There was no significant difference on the fertility of crossbred KNCs, and the hatchability of B crossbred was low compared to other crossbreds. On body weight (BW), D crossbred resulted in a higher BW after 5 weeks (P<0.05). Body weight gain (BWG) and feed intake (FI) of A crossbred were also significant higher compared to the other crossbreds for all periods. On carcass ratio (CR), A crossbred showed higher CR at 5 weeks, there was no significant among crossbreds at 10 weeks. The partial meat ratio(ala, breast, neck, leg) of C crossbred was the lowest among other crossbreds (P<0.05), but the back meat ratio was not difference among treatments at 5 and 10 weeks. pH of meats have no difference among crossbreds at 5 week, and A crossbred was high compared to other crossbreds at 10 week (P<0.05). The moisture content of D crossbred meat and the protein content of B crossbred meat were high compared to other crossbreds at 5 week. Chemical compositions of meats have no difference among crossbreds at 10 week. Lightness and redness have not significance among crossbreds at 5 week, and redness of A crossbred was the highest among all crossbreds (P<0.05). Shear force and cooking loss of A crossbred were high at 5 week, and cooking loss of A crossbred was low compared with other crossbreds at 10 week. These results suggested the basic data that needed to develope the new strains.

Pharmacokinetics of Carbapenem Antibiotics in Rats and Guinea pigs

  • 1, 흰쥐에서 IPM 단독투여시보다 DHP-I 저해제인 CS와의 병용투여시 AUC가 4배 이상, t$_{1}$2/가 약 3배 증가하였으며 MEPM의 경우는 AUC가 5배 이상, t$_{1}$2/가 약 1.8배 증가하였다. 2. Guinea pig에서 IPM 단독투여시보다 CS와의 병용투여시 AUC가 약 2.5배, t$_{1}$2/가 약 1.4배 증가하였으며 MEPM의 경우는 AUC, t$_{1}$2/ 모두 거의 변함이 없었다. 3. 위의 결과 흰쥐에서 IPM과 MEPM에 대한 CS의 영향이 매우 큰 것으로 나타났으며 따라서 약물동력학적인 파라메타에도 커다란 변화를 주었다. 반대로 Guinea Pig에서는 CS의 병용투여로 IPM의 AUC에만 변동을 주었을 뿐 t$_{l}$ 2/에는 크게 영향을 미치지 않았고 MEPM의 체내동태에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않았다. 4. Guinea pig에서 전체 투여량에 대한 MEPM의 요중회수율은 66.58$\pm$3.44%이었고 IPM의 경우는 7.00$\pm$0.95%이었다. 그러나 DHP-I 저해제인 CS와의 병용투여시 IPM의 요중회수율이 57.77$\pm$11.46%로 증가하여 MEPM과 거의 비슷한 양상을 나타냈다. 이는 guinea pig에서 DHP-I에 의한 IPM의 대사가 CS에 의해 차단됨을 시사하는 것이라고 사료되며 guinea pig에 존재하는 DHP-I은 MEPM보다 IPM에 대해 더 높은 친화도를 갖는 것으로 사료된다. 5. Carbapenem계 항생제의 약물동력학적 스크리닝을 위한 소동물로는 흰쥐보다도 guinea pig가 적합한 것으로 생각되나 동물종차에 의한 약물동력학적 연구 및 DHP-I의 활성에 대한 연구가 더 면밀히 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각되며 BO-2727, panipenem, biapenem 등 다른 carbapenem 항생제에 대한 광범위한 약물동력학적 연구가 진행되어 새로운 carbapenem계 항생제 개발에 따른 인체내 거동을 예측할 수 있는 치적의 실험동물모델이 확립되어야 할 것이다.

Effects of Temperature on the Pharmacokinetics of Ciprofloxacin in the Cultured Black Rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli) and Olive Flounders (Paralichthys olivaceus)

  • Temperature-dependent pharmacokinetics of ciprofloxacin (CIP) was studied in the cultured olive flounders, Paralichthys olivaceus, and black rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) originally developed for quinolone determination from livestock. Pharmacokinetics of CIP was apparently affected by ambient water temperature. In a two-compartment model for flounders after oral dosage of 20 mg/kg, $K_{01},\;at\;13^{\circ}C$ and $23^{\circ}C$ were 4.18 and 1.20/hr, respectively. The $K_{10},\;T_{max}\;and\;C_{max}\;at\;13^{\circ}C$ were 5.574/hr, l4.37${\mu}g/mL\;and\;3.15{\mu}g/mL,$ respectively. The corresponding values at $23^{\circ}C$ were l2.84/hr, 15.39${\mu}g/mL\;and\;6.38{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The AUC, $T_{1/2} (\alpha)\;and\;T_{1/2}\;(\beta)$ were 278.23 ${\mu}g \cdot hr/mL$, 0.24hr and 47.02hr at $13^{\circ}C$ and 3l7.8l${\mu}g \cdot hr/mL$, 0.30 hrs and 60.78hrs at $23^{\circ}C$ for the flounder, respectively. Similar CIP pharmacokinetics were revealed in the black rockfish after oral dosage of 20 mg/kg under the two water temperature regimes. These pharmacokinetical results have some implication in the optimal usage of recently introduced antibacterials in the farmed fish, which were primarily adapted for poultry and mammalian species.

  • Optical power optimization of 10 Gbps 40 wavelength division multiplexing channels was analyzed at the 3000 km long-haul transmission distance when the link span distance was changed between 40 km and 140 km. The signal performance of the transmission was obtained as a Q value and it was compared when input power into SSMF and input power into DCF on the transmission link were changed. The optimized input power into SSMF increased linearly to link span distance with 1 dB/km. The optimized power into DCF increased linearly with 0.5 dB/km up to 100 km link span, but it had no variation at longer link span than 100 km.

  • A 900-MHz band transceiver has been developed for RFID reader applications. In the transmitter, a GaAs SPST switch is used for high speed switching and low power consumption. In the receiver, a double balanced mixer is used to compress even-harmonic products. The ASK demodulator which consists of an active filter and comparator is used to reject the unwanted in band interferers. The transceiver produces a maximum transmitting power of 30 dBm and exhibits an 5 m communication range with a 6-dBi gain antenna.

  • We propose an object recognition system and experiential game contents using Kinect to maximize object recognition rate by utilizing underwater robots. we implement an ice hockey game based on object-aware interactive contents to validate the excellence of the proposed system. The object recognition system, which is a preprocessor module, is composed based on Kinect and OpenCV. Network sockets are utilized for object recognition communications between C/S. The problem of existing research, degradation of object recognition at long distance, is solved by combining the system development method suggested in the study. As a result of the performance evaluation, the underwater robot object recognized all target objects (90.49%) with 80% of accuracy from a 2m distance, revealing 42.46% of F-Measure. From a 2.5m distance, it recognized 82.87% of the target objects with 60.5% of accuracy, showing 34.96% of F-Measure. Finally, it recognized 98.50% of target objects with 59.4% of accuracy from a 3m distance, showing 37.04% of F-measure.

A Low Phase Noise 5.5-GHz SiGe VCO Having 10% Bandwidth

  • A bandwidth-enhanced and phase noise-improved differential LC-tank VCO is proposed in this paper. By connecting the varactors to the bases of the cross-coupled transistors of the proposed LC-tank VCO, its input negative resistance has been widened. Also, the feedback capacitor Cc in the cross-coupling path of the proposed LC-tank VCO attenuates the output common-mode level modulated by the low-frequency noise because the modulated common-mode level jitters the varactor bias point and degrades phase noise. Compared with the fabricated conventional LC-tank VCO, the proposed LC-tank VCO demonstrates $200\;\%$ enhancement in tuning range, and 6 - dB improvement in phase noise at 6 MHz offset frequency from 5.4-GHz carrier. We achieved the phase noise of - 106 dBc/Hz at 6 MHz offset, and $10\;\%$ tuning range from the proposed LC-tank VCO. The proposed LC-tank VCO consumes 12 mA at 2.5 V supply voltage.
