A Study on the Performance Improvement for Skeleton type 2-Phase BLDC Motor (스캘리턴 형상을 갖는 2상 BLDC 모터의 특성향상에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the skeleton type 2-phase brushless DC motor has been used in electric home appliance for low price and low energy consumption. In this paper, we analyzed a skeleton type 2-phase BLDC motor using time-step finite element method. And the validity of analysis is confirmed by measuring the flux distribution on the surface of permanent magnet and back-EMF. As well, we have calculated the dynamic characteristics of target motor considering the Hall sensor position. So, we have found the optimum switching position, and improved efficiency of 2-phase BLDC motor.

  • In this paper, the vibration source of IPM type BLDC motor was analyzed by finite element method. The main causes of the electrical vibration were RMF(Radial magnetic force) and cogging torque. It was designed model of minimized cogging torque and RMF equilibrium. Design models were selected the optimum model using the design of experiment method. And, the vibration experiment was carried out through prototype machine of each model. Finally, the experimental results were compared with the analysis ones.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a 1hp class two-phase type BLDC fan motor used in an air conditioning system. The BLDC motor, which is implemented in this study, is not a commutator motor type with excellent lifetime and durability and is driven by two phase power source. The most important target specification of a motor used in an air conditioning system is that it has a high efficiency at the rated operating point. For this purpose, we designed the stator shape of the BLDC motor, the design of the rotor magnet, and the control circuit for driving. The BLDC motor has a structure where the motor part, the control part, and the power part are integrated. The finite element analysis was used to calculate the characteristics of the BLDC motors, and the conformity of the design results was confirmed by fabricating and testing the prototype model.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자전거용 BLDC를 구동할 수 있는 구동제어시스템을 설계하였으며, BLDC 전동기와 구동원리에 대해 특성을 파악하였다. 제어보드는 TI사의 TMS320F2808을 이용하여 6-스텝 인버터를 구동하였으며, PI제어를 적용하여 전류제어를 통해 전기자전거용 BLDC 구동장치를 구현 하였다.

  • Currently, BLDC fuel pump was applied on LPi vehicle using 3rd fuel supply system as liquified phase LPG injection method had already shown better performance than others. Its cost, however, is rather expensive because of drawbacks such as complicated structure, a fault of localization of system. In this work, demonstration system for a developed turbine type fuel pump to replace BLDC system was setup and investigated. This study results that fuel mass flow rate of turbine type pump and injection performance of injector were better compared to BLDC type. Comparing flow rate of summer LPG with that of winter LPG, the flow rate decreased about 25% using winter LPG. Performance applying turbine type LPi fuel pump to engine is confirmed.

  • Hub BLDC(Brushless Direct Current) motor, called wheel-in motor is a outer rotor type high efficient direct driving motor which have a multi-pole permanent magnet type rotor as a driving wheel. This study shows a hub BLDC motor speed controller design methode using PIC micro controller to drive 2 wheels or 3 wheels driving body having hub motor driving shaft. The motor driver unit consists of six discrete MOSFET switching devices and the gate driving module is directly designed for high economy.

  • This paper describes an approach to design a interior permanent magnet motor(IPM motor) for the reduction of cogging torque. The magnitude of the torque ripple and cogging torque in a interior permanent magnet motor(IPM motor) are generally dependent on several major factors: the shape of stator tooth tip, slot opening width, air gap length, the shape of barrier preventing flux leakage of magnets, magnet configuration and magnetization distribution or magnet poles. In this paper, the IPM BLDC motor is designed considering a saturated leakag flux between the barriers on the rotor for increasing the efficiency and decreasing the magnitude of the cogging torque. Analytical model is developed for the IPM BLDC motor with a concentrated winding stator. The results verifies that the proposed design approach is very efficient and effective in reducing the cogging torque and the torque ripple of the IPM BLDC motor to be used in an electric vehicle.

  • Many application in robotics, telecommunication, automation systems etc require powerful actuator. The powerful actuator have Speeds up to high speed and high output torque efficiencies. To accomplish a powerful actuator, these powerful motor have to be combined with gearheads of the same outer diameter. So, we have developed BLDC motor and planetary type gearheads as powerful actuator. The BLDC motor have advantages that compact structure, high efficiency, high reliability. The Planetary type gearheads have advantages that same-axle structure, high torque transmission, low noise in comparison with spur gearheads. In this study included BLDC motor and planetary type gearheads design, manufacture. This time study performed for actuator of precision mechanism.
