Characteristics Analysis for Reduction of Cogging Torque in a Novel Axial Flux Permanent Magnet BLDC Motor (평판형 영구 자석 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크 저감은 위한 특성 해석)

  • In this paper, the design and field analysis of the novel axial flux type permanent magnet(AFPM) motor with double stator and single rotor are investigated. The various design schemes of AFPM based on 3D finite element method are proposed. The effects of slot shapes, various magnetization of PM, and skewing on the cogging torque and average torque have been investigated in detail. From the results, we can improve the cogging torque and average torque characteristics.

  • Slotless brushless dc motor with 돗 characteristics of high speed and power density has been more widely used in industrial and factory machine. This paper deals with the dymanic simulation and test results of slotless type high-speed brushless DC(BLDC) motor. The mathmatical model of the BLDC motor is presented with the analytical solution of back EMF constant. And, the controller is implemented using a TMS320F2812 DSP-based system with power conversion circuit.

  • 본 논문에서는 24V급 저가형 팬 모터 드라이버를 설계하기 위해 단상 인버터 회로를 제시 하였고, 제시한 회로의 동작특성 확인을 위해 단상 BLDC 모터의 모델링 및 회로설계를 PSIM 시뮬레이션 툴을 통해 수행 하였다. 제시한 회로가 저가격으로 구현 가능함을 검토하였고 실제 적응 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • This paper analyzes fault tolerance under a stator turn fault, according to the winding configuration. Improvement of torque characteristics and fault tolerance can be achieved by winding configuration without additional methods. And, torque characteristics and fault tolerance according to the winding configuration can be usually analyzed by analytical method. But, when the stator turn fault generates, compare to the steady-state, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance using the analytical method is not accurate because it does not reflect influence in mutual inductance and magnetic non-linearity. Therefore, analysis of torque characteristics and fault tolerance has to be performed by using the numerical method under fault condition. This paper develops fault characteristics according to the winding configuration using the FEM-base model considered magnetic non-linearity. And, this paper suggests fault tolerance improvement according to the winding configuration, by the comparison of 8/12 and 10/12 models, under fault condition.

A Study on the Accelerated Life Test of BLDC Motor in Ceiling Mounted Digital Signage Rotating System (천정 거치형 디지털 사이니지 회전 시스템의 BLDC모터 가속수명시험에 관한 연구)

  • In a time when product development cycles are getting shorter and shorter, many companies are making efforts to develop products with high reliability in a short period of time, accelerated life test is widely used as a method to quickly evaluate reliability. Accelerated life test reduces the test life or the life of the product from the observed data by shortening the lifetime of the product or abruptly lowering the performance under the worse condition than the actual condition in order to shorten the test cost or the test time. In this paper, BL3640A-06P+RB35, DC12V model, which is used in the support device of an automatic rotation type digital signage, which display various information such as textures and images on a display screen in a public place or a commercial space, BLDC motors were subjected to a constant stress test and at the rotational speed of 1rpm, $180^{\circ}$ rotation and reverse rotation under actual use conditions, the stress was imposed on the rotating speed of 2rpm and the weight of the actual installed product from 22.2kgf to 10kgf were installed. The lifetime of the actual use environment condition is 23,545 hours and the rotation speed is accelerated. The life time of the acceleration condition with the additional weight is 1,380 hours. The acceleration factor is calculated as 17.06, the one year guarantee test day is 235 days to 14 days, of the period from 470 days to 28 days, and the third year from 704 days to 42 days. The test date of the BLDC motor was tested on the shortened test date, and the rotational speed and the current value were measured. It is found that there is no defect even if it operates as the test date corresponding to the specified one year warranty period and the 3 year accelerated life test which is experimented. Using the statistical technique of the regression analysis the expected time for the motor to defect to #4 samples was 20 years.

A New Velocity Measurement Method using Linear Type Hall-effect Sensor for Electro-mechanical Fin Actuator (선형홀센서를 이용한 전기식 구동장치의 속도 신호 구현)

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a new velocity measurement method for an electro-mechanical fin actuator. The model of the electro-mechanical fin actuator includes uncertainties such as unknown disturbances and parameter variations in flight condition. So, an electro-mechanical fin actuator system needs robust control algorithm which requires not only position information but also velocity information. Usually, analog tachometers have been used for velocity feedback in an electro-mechanical fin actuator. However, using these types of sensors have problems such as the cost, space, and malfunction. These problems lead to propose a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor. In order to verify the proposed method, several experiments are performed using Model Following Sliding Mode Controller(MFSMC). It is shown that the MFSMC with a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor can satisfy the requirements without using of velocity sensor.

  • 본 논문에서는 세탁기용 DD모터로 사용되고 있는 BLDC를 대신하여 외전형 Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) 타입으로 세탁기의 부하에 따라 저속/고토크인 세탁모드, 고속/저토크인 탈수모드의 특징에 만족시키는 전동기를 설계한다. 이와 같은 특징을 고려하여 외전형 SRM의 극 조합을 12/8, 18/12, 30/20, 36/24에 대해 설계하고 FEM을 통해서 특성을 해석한다. 이 중 세탁기용 전동기에 알맞은 구조를 선정하고자한다.

PLL Control Method for Precise Speed Control of Slotless PM Brushless DC Motor Using 2 Hall-ICs (2 Hall-ICs를 이용한 Slotless PM Brushless DC Motor의 정밀속도제어를 위한 PLL 제어방식)

  • Generally, Slotless PM BLDC drive system is necessary that the three Hall-ICs evenly be distributed around the stator circumference and encoder be installed in case of the 3 phase motor. So, the Hall-ICs are set up in this motor to detect the main flux from the rotor, and the output signal from Hall-ICs is used to drive a power transistor to control the winding current. However, instead of using three Hall-ICs and encoder, we used only two Hall-ICs for the permanent magnet rotor position and for the speed feedback signals, and also for a microcontroller of 16-bit type (80C196KC) with the 3 phase Slotless PM BLDC whose six stator and two rotor designed. Two Hall-IC Hc and $H_B$ are placed on the endplate at 120 degree intervals, and with these elements, we can estimate information of the others phase in sequence through a rotating rotor.

  • An oxyge generator, which is applied to a particular space such as automobile, must consider compactness and lightweight as well as problems caused by noise, vibration and heat dissipation. For these matters, a BLDC motor was adopted to reduce heat while a bed using synthetic zeolite NaX made it possible to generate high-density oxygen with relatively small size. Moreover, owing to the characteristic of synthetic zeolite Nax, a two-head vacuum pump was designed to desorb nitrogen without additional pump unit.
