도로 프로젝트의 BIM 사례모델 구축을 통한 호환성 검증 (Interoperability Verification using BIM Case Models of Road Project)

  • Recently, BIM has been widely applying in civil engineering projects centering on the private construction industry in order to establish self guidelines for spreading in practice. However, most BIM technologies and software are based on the architectural projects. In these environments, it is not easy to apply the BIM to a infrastructure field. Even BIM standards with IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) are also focusing on architectural projects. Especially, both private and public sectors do not know about how BIM delivery system should be performed, and how such deliverable should be submitted to the government yet. Thus, we need to analyze an application level of BIM S/W (Software) in real projects and verify their interoperability. Besides, since there are not any common standards that can exchange IFC models for civil engineering projects, we have many issues in converting as-built infrastructure models into IFC and delivering their design documents to the government. Accordingly, this study aims to perform a BIM process with commercial software for real road project after a detailed design process is finished and verify interoperability between diverse BIM software for securing BIM data reliability.

  • As construction projects get bigger and more complex, communication and information flow among participants become key success factors of a project. Accordingly, construction projects to respond to these changes being made in the introduction of BIM (Building Information Modeling). But as 2D drawings are still to be widely used in practical fields, it is very important that 2D drawing information could be easily and clearly projected from 3D BIM data. In this study suggest that efficiency of design phase in BIM-based construction projects for can cause confusion and additional work in traditional to BIM.

개방형BIM 데이터와 법규 자동화 검토 시스템 간 속성 매핑 체계 개발 (Development of Property Mapping Contents between Open BIM Data and Automated Code Checking System)

  • Many countries have been developing BIM-based building code checking system and studies in the utilization of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) in building code checking. IFC is the open standard of BIM format. Currently, there is a disadvantage that could not include all of the attribute for the regulations of each country and there is the problem with the interoperability of the different defined IFC approach between BIM software. This study focus on developing, derived object and property by comparing through domestic regulation and IFC2x3 specification provided by the buildingSMART and classified review type depending on the interoperability of derived information. According to classified review type, the IFC data structure was established and property mapping contents were developed by including BIM software compatible information and creating a type of review plan. When the developed property mapping contents are applied into BIM-based building code checking system, checking of the BIM data generated from various fields is made effective and thus improving the interoperability of information.

  • 최근 도로 사업에 대한 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 의무화 등 토목분야의 BIM 확대 적용이 현실화됨에 따라 BIM 적용과 운영을 위한 기준, 시스템 개발 등 대비가 필요한 시점이다. 토목시설물은 국가 공공시설로서 건설생애주기 데이터를 통합적으로 생산, 공유 및 관리하기 위한 BIM 데이터 표준 개발이 중요하다. 국내외적으로 BIM 데이터 교화표준은 국제표준인 IFC(Industry Foundation Classes)를 활용 및 확장하는 추세이나, 하천시설에 대한 IFC 확장은 진행된 바 없다. 본 연구는 하천분야 IFC 기반 스키마 확장을 위한 기초연구로서, 작업분류체계를 활용한 IFC 확장 개발방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 절차로 연구를 수행하였다. 첫째, IFC 구조와 IFC 스키마 확장개발 선행사례를 분석하여 하천시설 표현을 위한 IFC 확장 개발방안을 선정하였다. 둘째, 하천 WBS(Work Breakdown Structure)를 분석하여 확장할 구성요소를 도출하고 IFC 스키마 상위 구조에 맞게 분류하였다. 셋째, 분류한 하천시설 구성요소를 IFC 클래스 위계와 구성에 맞게 배치하여 하천 IFC 스키마 상위 구조 확장안을 마련하였다. 본 연구는 하천분야 IFC 기반 스키마 확장을 위한 기초연구로서, 제시한 IFC 상위 구조 확장안과 개발방법론을 기반으로 향후 부품 및 부재, 배수시설 요소 등의 추가 개발과 함께 세부 유형과 상세 속성을 도출하여 스키마를 완성해 나갈 예정이다.

Preparing a Construction Cash Flow Analysis Using Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology

  • Construction is a competitive industry and successful contractors must be able to win bids to obtain projects. Cash flow analysis not only determines actual profit at the end of the project, but also estimates required cash resources or cash ballances at the end of every month. Cash flow analysis is important in managing a construction project; however, it requires extensive information that is not immediately available to the general contractor. Before contractors can perform cash flow analysis, they must first complete a series of pre-requisites such as the quantity take off, scheduling, and cost estimating, followed by accurate assessments of project costs incurred and billable progress made. Consequently, cash flow analysis is currently a lengthy, uncertain process. This paper suggests improved cash flow analysis can be developed using data extraction in Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM models contain a wealth of information and tools have been developed to automate a series of process such as quantity takeoff, scheduling, and estimating. This paper describes a prototype tool to support BIM-based, automated cash flow analysis.

  • The BIM(Building Information Modeling) introduction of the construction and maintenance at the design phase through the life cycle of the building until it is destroyed, I will bring big changes in the process. If you are building a small action by a variety of variables difficult to manage on-site construction, but, BIM remodeling of the building by applying a small improvement in the quality of imported building and construction delays, such as design changes or re-construction by removing the elements of economic 04 to make. Since the early stages of applying BIM to complement the introduction part, but the future seems to lead to changes in the built environment, academics and practitioners of the construction industry seem to have an active research.

  • Planning occurs from day-to-day, small-scale decisions to large-scale infrastructure investment decisions. For that reason, various attempts have been made to appropriately assist decision-making process and its optimization. Lately, initiation of a large amount of data, also known as big data has received great attention from diverse disciplines because of versatility and adoptability in its use and possibility to generate new information. Accordingly, implementation of big data and other information management systems, such as geographic information systems (GIS) and building information modeling (BIM) have received enough attention to establish each of its own profession and other associated activities. In this extent, this study illustrates a series of big data implementation cases that can provide a lesson to urban planning domain. In specific, case studies analyze how data was used to extract the most optimized solution and what aspects could be helpful in relation to planning decisions. Also, important notions about GIS and its application in various urban cases are examined.

직선교량에 대한 디지털엔지니어링 모델의 선형연동 프로그램 개발 (Automated Digital Engineering Modeling of Prefabricated Bridges with Parameterized Straight Alignments)

  • This report describes the development of a program that can be linked to an alignment and extracts related information using a prefab structured digital engineering model. The subject bridge was set as a straight alignment, the Superstructure type as Precast girder and the Substructure type as Precast pier and Cast-in-situ Abutment. We identified the variables required to create a digital engineering model and reviewed them to create the digital engineering model by entering them as numerical values in the program. In addition, it is configured so that the variables linked to the alignment can be entered numerically. The quantity takeoff can be calculated when the design is complete. The purpose of the program development presented in this report is to enable the designers to select the optimal alternative by designing a bridge that best fits their current situation, extracting the relevant information and then by providing it to the manufacturer and construction company.

생애주기비용 예측 기반 건물재료 경제성 평가 및 선정 (Evaluation and Selection of Building Materials based on Life Cycle Cost Prediction)

  • As buildings become larger and more complicated, construction costs have increased with a considerable effect on buildings' Life Cycle Cost (LCC). However, there has been little consideration on economic aspects in the selection of construction materials due to limited information on the materials and dependency in architects' experience and inefficiency in cost estimation, causing design changes, increase in maintenance cost, difficulty in budgeting, and decrease in building performance. To solve these problems, this study proposed a BIM-based material selection model which reflects the comprehensive economic efficiency of building materials. Our cost prediction model can estimates the material-related cost during the entire building life cycle. Furthermore, we implemented the proposed model in connection with BIM, which can analyze and compare LCC by material. Through the validation of the model, we could confirm the necessity of LCC-based material selection in comparison with the conventional cost-centered material selection.

  • 최근 공공공사의 BIM (Building Information Modeling)의무 발주 추세와 더불어, BIM 정보를 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 시설물 관리 기술이 다양하게 연구되고 있다. 특히, BIM기반 시설물 관리에 필요한 BIM 정보 표준, BIM 모델링, BIM 서버, BIM-GIS 플랫폼 기술, 3차원 이미지 스캔 기반 역설계와 같은 기술들은 많은 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 하지만, BIM의 시설물 유지관리 적용 범위가 어디까지 될 수 있는 지, 시설물 관리 행위별 주체의 역할은 무엇인지, 기존 시설물 유지관리 시나리오와 BIM기반 시설물 유지관리 시나리오의 차이점과 효과는 무엇인지에 대한 연구는 매우 부족한 상황이다. 본 연구는 BIM 기반 건축 시설물 유지관리 시나리오를 연구하고, 그 효과를 확인한다. 이를 위해, 관련 연구 동향을 분석하고, BIM 기반 시설물 유지관리 적용 범위, 시설물 유지관리 행위별 주체의 역할 등을 분류한 후, 기존 시설물 유지관리 시나리오와 비교 분석을 통해, BIM 기반 시설물 관리 시나리오 효과를 분석하였다.
