Performance Analysis of MAP Algorithm by Robust Equalization Techniques in Nongaussian Noise Channel (비가우시안 잡음 채널에서 Robust 등화기법을 이용한 터보 부호의 MAP 알고리즘 성능분석)

  • Turbo Code decoder is an iterate decoding technology, which extracts extrinsic information from the bit to be decoded by calculating both forward and backward metrics, and uses the information to the next decoding step Turbo Code shows excellent performance, approaching Shannon Limit at the view of BER, when the size of Interleaver is big and iterate decoding is run enough. But it has the problems which are increased complexity and delay and difficulty of real-time processing due to Interleaver and iterate decoding. In this paper, it is analyzed that MAP(maximum a posteriori) algorithm which is used as one of Turbo Code decoding, and the factor which determines its performance. MAP algorithm proceeds iterate decoding by determining soft decision value through the environment and transition probability between all adjacent bits and received symbols. Therefore, to improve the performance of MAP algorithm, the trust between adjacent received symbols must be ensured. However, MAP algorithm itself, can not do any action for ensuring so the conclusion is that it is needed more algorithm, so to decrease iterate decoding. Consequently, MAP algorithm and Turbo Code performance are analyzed in the nongaussian channel applying Robust equalization technique in order to input more trusted information into MAP algorithm for the received symbols.

Performance Analysis and Efficient Decoding Algorithm for Space-Time Turbo codes (시공간 turbo 부호의 성능 분석과 효율적인 복호 알고리즘)

  • Space-time turbo codes have been studied extensively as a powerful and bandwidth efficient error correction code over the wireless communication environment. In this paper, the efficient algorithm for decoding space-time turbo codes is proposed. The proposed method reduces the computational complexity by approximating a prior information for a iterative decoder. The performance of space-time turbo codes is also analyzed by using the fixed point implementation and the efficient method for approximating the Log-MAP algorithm is proposed. It is shown that the BER performance of the proposed method is close to that of the Log-MAP algorithm.

  • This paper propose a dual-layer beam-forming technique for MIMO-OFDM systems. Dual-layer beam-forming is a capacity enhancing technique to transmit two streams of source data with more than two transmit and receive antennas. Beamforming is a technique to enhance the link-level performances gain using antenna array with the small inter element distance. The proposed scheme can obtain both high capacity of spatial multiplexing and antenna array gain of beamforming for MIMO-OFDM systems. Therefore, it provides better BER performance than the traditional spatial multiplexing and beamforming techniques under the same simulation environment.

  • 본 논문에서는 블록 FEC(Forward Error Correction) 알고리즘을 적용한 IEEE 802.11e MAC(Medium Access Control)의 블록전송모드(Block Transfer Mode)의 성능을 분석한다. 성능 향상을 위해서 IEEE 802.11e MAC은 TXOP(Transmission Opportunity)시간 동안 특정 스테이션(station)에게 독점적인 전송 기회를 부여하며, 이 기간동안 하나의 블록 즉 연속적으로 여러 개의 데이터 프레임(frame)을 전송한다. 수신자는 블록내의 각 프레임에 수신 여부를 블록 ack (block Acknowledgment)방식, 즉 하나의 ack 패킷이 모든 수신 프레임의 일련번호를 모아 알려 준다. 그러나 오류가 빈번한 무선 채널 환경에서는 블록 ack 방식을 사용하더라도 빈번한 재전송으로 인해 채널의 성능이 현저히 감소한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 심볼 단위로 오류를 복원하는 블록 FEC 알고리즘을 적용할 수 있는데, 본 논문에서는 802.11e에서 FEC 알고리즘을 적응하는 두 가지 방식의 성능을 해석적으로 분석한다. 즉 두 가지 방식은 프레임 당 블록 FEC를 적용하는 방법과 전체 블록 내의 프레임을 하나의 데이터로 간주하여 FEC를 적용하는 방식이다. 본 논문에서는 이 들 두 가지 방식의 채널 성능 향상 정도와 블록 ack만을 사용한 경우의 성능을 수식적으로 계산한다. 실험에 의하면 BER이 $10^{-4}$인 채널 환경에서 블록 FEC를 적용한 방식이 블록 ack를 사용한 방식에 비해 약 1.5%의 성능향상을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we propose a downlink beamforming method which is considered common pilot channel for coherent detection and dedicated traffic channel for desired user in FDD/CDMA systems. The existing downlink beamforming system produces phase mismatch between traffic and pilot signals at desired mobile as well as interference to other mobiles. A new downlink beamforming method can solve above problem based on least squares method between reference function and beamforming function. A numerical analysis shows that the proposed downlink beamforming method matches well and gives low BER performance.

  • In this paper, the new beamforming is proposed for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) system with multi-input multi-output(MIMO). Through the proposed Pre-FFT beamforming technique for MIMO-OFDM, the multibeams are formed toward each multi-transmitter antenna of the desired user. The proposed beamforming for MIMO-OFDM can reduce cochannel interference and get diversity gain in the multi-user environment. Therefore, the performance of MIMO-OFDM system is very improved. BER performance improvement of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by applying it to MIMO-OFDM system in the multi-user environment.

  • It is expected that the SCM (Subcarrier Multiplexing) optical link system, in which a number of small scale base stations with only antenna and RF transceiver are connected to central station through optical fiber, is in demand. In order to analyze the performance of SCM optical link system fur RF signal transmission, MZ(Mach-Zehnder) modulator's transfer function is modelled as nonlinear form with the cube of input signal. And considering the multiple access interferences occurred In the demodulation of other users'CDMA signals with multipath components after passing through MZ modulator, the BER performance is analyzed.

  • In this paper, performance comparisions of MTCM systems with 8DPSK over mobile communication channels are obtained by computer simulation. The multiple symbol differential detection scheme is introduced in order to improve the bit error rate performance in the detection of the trellis-coded 8DPSK system. Rician fading channels are used as test channels. The simula- tion results show that the trellis-coded 8DPSK system with multiple symbol detection gives better performance than that of the uncoded DQPSK system. And symbol by symbol interleaving method gives better performance than the symbol pair interleaving method.

Simplified approach for symbol error rate analysis of SC-FDMA scheme over Rayleigh fading channel

  • In this paper, we present a comprehensive analytical study of the symbol error rate (SER) of single-carrier frequency-division multiple access (SC-FDMA) with zero-forcing frequency domain equalization (ZF-FDE) over a Rayleigh fading channel. SC-FDMA is considered as a potential waveform candidate for fifth-generation (5G) radio access networks (RANs). First, the $N_C$ fold convolution of the noise distribution of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system is computed for each value of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in order to determine the noise distribution of the SC-FDMA system. $N_C$ is the number of subcarriers assigned to a user or the size of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) precoding. Here, we present a simple alternative method of calculating the SER by simplifying the $N_C$ fold convolution using time and amplitude scaling properties. The effects of the $N_C$ fold convolution and SNR over the computation of the SER of the SC-FDMA system has been separated out. As a result, the proposed approach only requires the computation of the $N_C$ fold convolution once, and it is used for different values of SNR to calculate the SER of SC-FDMA systems.

A Novel Enhanced Decision-Directed Channel Estimation Scheme in High-Speed Mobile Environments (고속 이동 전파환경에서 결정지향 채널 추정 기법의 개선)

  • It has been a big trend of the convergence technologies about communication systems and vehicular industry to improve safety and convenience. To achieve a number of infotainment vehicular applications, vehicles should transmit information with high reliability. A robust and accurate channel estimation scheme is of great importance to achieve the goal. In this paper, we present a novel enhanced decision-directed channel estimation scheme called FADP (Frequency Averaging Data Pilot) for dynamic time-varying vehicular channels in IEEE 802.11p. We use linear averaging filtering in frequency domain, and utilize the correlation characteristic of the channels between the adjacent two data symbols, update the CR in time domain to get more accuracy. Finally, analysis and simulation results reveal that compared with exist schemes, the proposed scheme has a good performance in mean square error (MSE) and bit error rate (BER).
