Threshold level analysis of the FFH-MA system using noncoherent FSK modulation under the presence of frequency and timing offsets (주파수와 타이밍 옵셋에 의한 빠른 주파수 호핑 시스템의 임계값 분석)

  • Under the prsence of the frequency and timing offset, we evaluate the BER performance of the FFH-MA system using noncoherent M-ary FSK modulation in the Rayleigh fading channel. The numerical resuts show that while the frequency and timing offset increases at a given SNR, the BER is severely degraded. The threshold level used in the envelope detector increases with the increase of the frequency and timing offset, and with the proper selection of the threshold level, the BER can be improved under the presence of such offsets.

  • A time synchronization method for Advanced T-DMB is proposed using PN sequence inserted in PRS for the transmission of hierarchical modulation mode information. The time synchronization offset is estimated through the cross-correlation of the PN sequence and the received PRS. The performance of the proposed method is analyzed by the BER analysis in mobile channel and the results are shown.

  • ATM techniques ar ewidely accepted as a key transport mechanism infiber-based broadband network. However, to keep pace with the rpid emerging wireless high speed market, it is desirable to verify the reliability & daptability of ATM protocol on high error environment. This paper investigates the various ATM cell transfer characteristics over air interface. Though simulation, we analyze their usabilities of HeC mechanism and single-bit error correction algorithm based on ITU-T recommendation. We propose some methods for cell transport improvement over errored environment and investigate their performance for suggested schemes.

Performance Analysis of FFH/MFSK System with Clipper Receiver in the Presence of Multitone Interference (다중톤 재밍 환경에서 clipper 수신기를 사용하는 FFH/MFSK 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, the bit error rate (BER) performance of the fast frequency hopping/M-ary frequency shift keying system using the clipper receiver is analyzed by using the characteristic function (CF) technique in the presence of n=1 band multitone jamming and additive white Gaussian noise environment. The CFs of the clipper receiver outputs are derived as a infinite series representation using Gamma function and Marcum's Q -function. The analytical results are validated with various simulation results. Performance comparisons with linear combining receiver are shown that the BER performance of the clipper receiver is much better than that of the linear combining receiver In addition, as the clipping level approaches to infinity, it is shown that the clipper receiver simply performs a linear combining without clipping and there exists an optimum value of diversity level (the number of hops per symbol) that maximizes the worst case BER performance of the clipper receiver.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 경로 레일리 페이딩 채널에서 MC (Multi-Carrier) CDMA 시스템의 BER 성능을 분석하였고, 최근에 가장 강력한 부호화 기법으로 급부상하고 있는 터보 코드를 MC CDMA 시스템에 적용하여 성능 개선 정도를 평가하였다. 성능 해석 결과, 레일리 페이딩 채널에서는 강력한 성능 개선 기법을 적용하지 않는 한 사용자수와 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 값에 관계없이 음성 서비스를 지원하지 못함을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 터보 코드를 성능 개선 기법으로 적용하면 BER 성능이 매우 개선되고, 사용자 수와 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 값에 관계없이 음성 서비스를 충분히 지원할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 예를 들어 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 가 10 dB이고 사용자 수가 10명인 경우, 터보 코드를 적용함에 의해 BER 성능이 약 5$\times$$10^{-3}$ 정도 개선됨을 알 수 있었다.

Performance Analysis of Multi-Carrier CDMA System by Co-Channel Interference Cancellation Technique in Mobile Communication Channel (이동 통신 채널에서 동일 채널 간섭 제거 기법에 의한 Multi-Carrier CDMA 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 Multi-Carrier CDMA 시스템 성능 열화의 주요 원인인 다중 접속 간섭 (MUI : Multi-User Interference)이 존재하는 이동 통신 채널 환경에서 MU 제거를 위한 성능 개선 기법으로 동일 채널 간섭 제거기를 적용하여 성능 개선 정도를 평가하였다. 성능 해석 결과, 동일 채널 간섭 제거기를 적용함에 의해 BER 성능이 매우 개선되며, 특히 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 값을 높일수록 성능 개선 효과가 현저히 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 예를 들어 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ =12 dB로 데이터 서비스 (BER = $10^{-5}$)를 지원하고자 하는 경우, 동일 채널 간섭 제거기를 사용하지 않으면 4명의 사용자밖에 지원할 수 없지만, 동일 채널 간섭 제거기를 사용하면 약 30명의 사용자까지 지원할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 를 고정시키고 동일 채널 간섭 제거기를 적용하면 BER면에서 약 5$\times$$10^{-3}$ 정도의 성능 개선 효과가 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

  • The use of concatenated codes in noncoherent synchronous optical fiber CDMA networks is proposed. The concatenated code sequences are generated using balanced Walsh code sequences and Walsh code sequences. The selection of balanced Walsh code sequences is presented and the design of fully programmable transmitter and receiver is reported. The analysis of the system BER performance shows that multiple-access interference is completely eliminated and the BER performance of the proposed system is better than that of the non-coherent synchronous optical fiber CDMA system using optical orthogonal codes with double hard-limiters.

  • Using electronic cochlear implant system, we studied in cats the difference in the response of the brain stem evoked response (BER) during the stimulation with the acoustic signals and the electric signals. These brain stem electric responses were analyzed using the integral pulse frequency modulation method of the auditory nervous system. Animal experimental results and the analysis show that the carrier wave hasimprored the frequency specificity. of the electronic auditory prosthesis.

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB(초광대역 : Ultra-Wideband) 시스템에서 FCC 위원회에서 제안한 규정을 근거로 산출된 파라미터를 이용하여 M-ary PPM 시스템에서 고려되는 파라미터 값의 관계를 분석한 후 최적의 파라미터 값을 산출하였다. AWGN 채널에서 다중 접속을 고려하지 않은 단일 사용자일 경우로 가정시, 펄스 반복 개수 N/sub s/가 변화함에 따른 BER 특성과 M=4, 8인 경우 채널부호화 기법을 채용시 성능 개선으로 부호율 R(1/2, 1/3)과 구속장 K(7, 9)에 따른 Convolution 부호화를 고려하였을 경우 BER 특성을 분석하였다.
