The purpose of this study is to investigate the understanding on the acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification of the elementary students. The participants in the current study were 280 6th graders from a elementary school in Gyeongnam Province. A questionnaire consists of four categories: understanding of (a) acid-base basic knowledge, (b) acid rain and (c) soil acidification. (d) In addition, students were asked to comment about the introduction of the acid rain experiment in the science textbook. The results are as follows; First, the results regarding acid-base basic knowledge. They know the classification, characteristics, and properties of acid-based solutions well but they don't know the acid-base neutralization, examples using properties and application in real life. Second, the results regarding acid rain, students know the definition and damage of acid rain but they don't know the causing substances, emission source and way of solution of acid rain for lack of knowledge. Third, the results regarding soil acidification was the well-known part for the students because they had continued learning about the soil from the lesson of acid rain. Also, we looked into the difference in gender and region about the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification. According to the gender of the data about the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification, the percentage of correct answers of female was higher than male's. Also we expected that urban students were higher than rural students on the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification, but the understanding of urban students were similar to rural students. Fourth, we got positive answers and negative answers to the introduction of acid rain experiment. Most of the positive opinion were I want to know a lot acid rain experiment", followed by "It is possible to prevent the risk of the damage and It seems to having fun and new order. Most of the negative opinion were Acid rain experiment may be difficult and complicated followed by Just a theory in the book is enough, Acid rain experiment were boring and not fun, Acid rain experiment is dangerous, There are many to study in this order.

Recently, it is a pretty well known way to compute GPS/INS using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) and Network-based RTK for obtaining Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters of aerial photogrammetry. In this study, it is way to compute Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters using ground base stations, using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) broadcast orbits and International GNSS Service (IGS) rapid orbits. And the residuals of Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters were computed based on the results of ground base station. As a result, the case of using SmartBase to obtain Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters was showed the high accuracy of X, Y, K more than using Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) of National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). Also, distance and direction of Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) of National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) from ground base station affected Exterior Orientation (EO) parameters. And different forms of residuals were shown according to the aerial photo courses.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the behavior of H-shape column base plates subjected to axial loads and moments. In this study, the behavior of H-shape column base plates is investigated using finite element analysis method and an analytical modelingof the base plates is obtained. The variations of six test specimens include ratiosof axial load, sizes of anchor bolts, and thicknesses of base plates. The experimental results are compared with the results from the finite element analyses and those of the analytical modeling. Bearing pressures of base plates from the finite element analyses are compared with those that are assumed in the design of the base plates. From the results of the research, it is observed that the initial stiffness and yield strengths in the analytical study are very similar to the experimental results. And bearing pressures are concentrated under column section with thin base plates.
CRISPR/Cpf1 has emerged as a new CRISPR-based genome editing tool because, in comparison with CRIPSR/Cas9, it has a different T-rich PAM sequence to expand the target DNA sequence. Single-base editing in the microbial genome can be facilitated by oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis (ODM) followed by negative selection with the CRISPR/Cpf1 system. However, single point mutations aided by Cpf1 negative selection have been rarely reported in Corynebacterium glutamicum. This study aimed to introduce an amber stop codon in crtEb encoding lycopene hydratase, through ODM and Cpf1-mediated negative selection; deficiency of this enzyme causes pink coloration due to lycopene accumulation in C. glutamicum. Consequently, on using double-, triple-, and quadruple-base-mutagenic oligonucleotides, 91.5-95.3% pink cells were obtained among the total live C. glutamicum cells. However, among the negatively selected live cells, 0.6% pink cells were obtained using single-base-mutagenic oligonucleotides, indicating that very few single-base mutations were introduced, possibly owing to mismatch tolerance. This led to the consideration of various target-mismatched crRNAs to prevent the death of single-base-edited cells. Consequently, we obtained 99.7% pink colonies after CRISPR/Cpf1-mediated negative selection using an appropriate single-mismatched crRNA. Furthermore, Sanger sequencing revealed that single-base mutations were successfully edited in the 99.7% of pink cells, while only two of nine among 0.6% of pink cells were correctly edited. The results indicate that the target-mismatched Cpf1 negative selection can assist in efficient and accurate single-base genome editing methods in C. glutamicum.

The effectiveness of fuzzy supervisory control technique for the control of seismic responses of smart base isolation system is investigated in this study. To this end, first generation base isolated building benchmark problem is employed for the numerical simulation. The benchmark structure under consideration is an eight-story base isolated building having irregular plan and is equipped with low-damping elastometric bearings and magnetorheological (MR) dampers for seismic protection. Lower level fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) for far-fault or near-fault earthquakes are developed in order to effectively control base isolated building using multi-objective genetic algorithm. Four objectives, i.e. reduction of peak structural acceleration, peak base drift, RMS structural acceleration and RMS base drift, are used in multi-objective optimization process. When earthquakes are applied to benchmark building, each of low level FLCs provides different command voltage and supervisory fuzzy controller combines two command voltages io one based on fuzzy inference system in real time. Results from the numerical simulations demonstrate that base drift as well as superstructure responses can be effectively reduced using the proposed supervisory fuzzy control technique.

In this study, a smart base isolation system has been proposed to reduce dynamic responses of a spacial structure subjected to seismic excitation. MR dampers and low damping elastomeric bearings were used to compose a smart base isolation system and its vibration control performance has been investigated compared to that of the optimally designed lead-rubber bearing (LRB) isolation system. Control performance of smart base isolation system depends on control algorithm. Fuzzy controller was used in this study to effectively control the spacial structure having a smart base isolation system. Dynamic responses of the spacial structure with isolation system is conflict with base drifts and thus these two responses are selected as objective functions to apply multi-objective genetic algorithm to optimization of fuzzy controller. Based on numerical simulation results, it has been shown that the smart base isolation system proposed in this study can drastically reduce base drifts and seismic responses of the example spacial structure in comparison with the optimally designed LRB isolation system.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of thermocycling on the shear bond strength of Co-Cr alloy to denture base resin. PMMA denture base resin such as heat-cured $Vertex-RS^{(R)}$, self-cured $Vertex-SC^{(R)}$ and 4-META denture base resin such as heat-cured $Meta-Dent^{(R)}$, self-cured $Meta-Fast^{(R)}$ was bonded to Co-Cr alloy. Samples were divided into 3 groups : no thermocycling group as control, thermocycling between $5^{\circ}C\;and\;55^{\circ}C$ with 15 second dwell time as group 1, thermocycling with 1 minute dwell time as group 2. The shear bond strength was measured and the interface between metal and resin was observed by SEM. The results were as follows. 1. The shear bond strength decreased significantly according to thermocycling and dwell time(P<0.001). 2. The bond strength of Co-Cr alloy and 4-META denture base resin was significantly higher than that of Co-Cr alloy and PMMA denture base resin(P<0.001) 3. In SEM, there was no gap in control group, but there was much and large gap in group 1, 2. The longer dwell times, the lower bond strength. PMMA denture base resin had more gap than 4-META denture base resin in the interface. These results revealed that thermocycling decreased the bond strength between Co-Cr alloy and denture base resin and dwell time of thermocycling changed the effect of thermocycling. The results suggested that oral temperature change affect the bond strength of prosthesis.

Genome editing using programmable nucleases such as CRISPR/Cas9 or Cpf1 has emerged as powerful tools for gene knock-out or knock-in in various organisms. While most genetic diseases are caused by point mutations, these genome-editing approaches are inefficient in inducing single-nucleotide substitutions. Recently, Cas9-linked cytidine deaminases, named base editors (BEs), have been shown to convert cytidine to uridine efficiently, leading to targeted single-base pair substitutions in human cells and organisms. Here, we first report on the generation of Xenopus laevis mutants with targeted single-base pair substitutions using this RNA-guided programmable deaminase. Injection of base editor 3 (BE3) ribonucleoprotein targeting the tyrosinase (tyr) gene in early embryos can induce site-specific base conversions with the rates of up to 20.5%, resulting in oculocutaneous albinism phenotypes without off-target mutations. We further test this base-editing system by targeting the tp53 gene with the result that the expected single-base pair substitutions are observed at the target site. Collectively, these data establish that the programmable deaminases are efficient tools for creating targeted point mutations for human disease modeling in Xenopus.
