덕음광산(德音鑛山) 은광물(銀鑛物)의 입도(粒度)와 조직(組織) (Grain Size and Texture of Silver Minerals from Duk-Eum Ore Deposits)

  • The Duk-Eum mine located in Kongsan-myeon, Naju-gun, Cheolanamdo is producing silver ore mainly, with rare gold association. The grade-up and recovery of the concentrates have been concerned to the main problem. And then, this study aimed at applying the basic data for ore processing. In the first half of the study, the attempts were made to identify the ore minerals, this followed by determination of the mineral texture, paragenesis, grain size, and size distribution by employing the microscopical method and the etching test. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The ore deposit is composed of the hydrothermal fissure linked veins, and filling cavities are mostly tensile fractures or joints, in rhyolitic rocks as a wall rock. 2. The principle ore minerals are native silver, acanthite, canfieldite, pyrargyrite, galena, tetrahedrite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, chalcocite, covellite, zincite, and the gangue minerals are quartz and calcite. 3. The grain size of each ore minerals before grinding are; max. $2\frac{1}{2}$ mesh, medium 48-100 mesh(main size, contained over 80%), min. 3200mesh. And the grain size of each ore minerals after grinding is; max. 42mesh, medium 65-250mesh(main size, contained over 80%), min. 3200mesh. 4. The properties of the mineral texture effected on the ore dressing are follows; a) Inclusion texture; the fine grains of chalcopyrite is included in most acanthite, and rarely, that of galena included in acanthite. b) Exsolution texture; pyrargyrite is exsolved in acanthite. c) Replacement texture; native silver replaced pyrargyrite, and acanthite replaced galena. d) Interlocking paragenetic texture; the interlocking paragenetic minerals are pyrite, chalcopyrite, chalcocite, canfieldite. e) Fissure filling texture; chalcopyrite was filled along the cracks in acanthite. Among of the above texture, it is impossible to liberate the grains of a), and more difficult to liberate those of b) and c), while easy to liberate those of d) and e).

복합산화물 $(Ba Ca)TiO_3$-ZnO의 구조적 및 유전분극 특성 (The structural and dielectric polarization characteristics of composite oxide material in $(Ba Ca)TiO_3$-Zn)

  • The ZnO is stabilize dielectric constant over a broad temperature range because its addition makes the relaxation time short. In this study, the composite oxide material (B $a_{0.85}$ $Ca_{0.15}$)Ti $O_{3}$ was mixed by ZnO additive material and the dielectric polarization characteristics was studied. The relative density was over 90[%] at all specimen in the structural characteristics. Among of the specimen, the relative density of (B $a_{0.85}$ $Ca_{0.15}$)Ti $O_{3}$ with ZnO (0.4mol) has a 95[%]. The grain size of composite oxide material with an increasing ZnO increased and it was 1.0[.mu.m]-1.22[.mu.m]. In the electrical characteristics, the charge and discharge current was increased by ZnO addition. The dielectric relaxation time was increased by space charge polarization at above 110[.deg. C] and the dielectric relaxation time was fixed by space charge polarization of para-dielectric layer at below 110[.deg. C]. The dielectric relaxation time was maximum when the grain size was small. The dielectric relaxation time is decreased with an additive material ZnO and interface polarization, existing void at the grain and grain boundary. The remnant polarization is increased and the coercive electric field is decreased by ZnO.

Fe-Ni-Co 코바 합금의 고온변형거동에 미치는 합금원소(Mn, Mo, B) 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Alloying Elements(Mn, Mo, B) on the High Temperature Deformation Behavior of Low Thermal Expansion Fe-Ni-Co Alloy)

  • The effect of alloying elements(Mn, S, Mo, B) on the high temperature deformation behavior of Fe-29%Ni-17%Co (Kovar) alloy were investigated. And the effect of high temperature oxidation on the hot ductility was also studied. The hot ductility of Kovar alloy was drastically increased with the addition of Mn and lowering of S content. It has been found that the brittle intergranular fracture at high temperature cracking is closely associated with the FeS sulfide along the grain boundary. When Mn was added, the type of sulfide was changed to MnS from FeS and ductile intergranular fracture and transgranular fracture were promoted. The formation of oxide layer was found to have minimized the hot ductility of the Kovar alloy significantly. Grain boundary micro-cracks in the internal oxide region were noted following deformation due to high temperature, one of which acting as a notch that caused the poor hot workability of the oxidized specimen. The addition of Mo to the Kovar alloy could also retard the decrease in the hot ductility of the oxidized specimen through the prevention of notching due to internal oxidation. Hot ductility was remarkably improved by the addition of Boron. The improvement of hot ductility results from the grain boundary migration mainly due to the dynamic recrystallization at lower temperature range ($900{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$).

THE EFFECT OF $HfB_{2}$ ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF NANOCOMPOSITE $Fe_{2}Nd_{14}B/Fe_{3}B$ MAGNET

  • By adding 1wt.% $HfB_{2}$ into $Nd_{3-4}Fe_{77-78.5}B_{18.5}$ alloys, the grain growth of $Fe_{3}B/Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B$ composite phases during annealing was found to be hindered by 40~50%. It is proposed that the addition of $HfB_{2}$ leads to the formation of fine dispersoids of $HfB_{2}$ in the $Fe_{3}B/Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B$ composite magnet. The maximum energy product($(B.H)_{max}$) as well as intrinsic coercivity($_{i}H_{c}$) for the $Nd_{3}Fe_{78.5}B_{18.5}\;+\;1wt.%\;HfB_{2}$ alloy were enhanced by more than 25% $(B.H)_{max}=10\;MGOe,\;_{i}H_{c}=2.5\;kOe)$ due to the addition of $HfB_{2}$ while remanent magntization($B_{r}$) was reduced slightly. Itis deduced that the formation of fine dispersoids will also play a role of magnetic domain pinning.

Observations on the heating of grain caused by insects

  • 1. 곡물중의 해충이 발열에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 Oryzaephilus surinamensis, Triborium confusum, Sitophilus zeamais 및 Sitophilus granarius의 중요해충을 공시로 이들의 각각을 $25^{\circ}C$$70\%$의 사육실에서 2-7 파운드의 사육병에 사육하면서 온도의 변화를 조사하였다. 3. 그러나 4종의 해충은 공히 발열의 시기는 각 해충의 유충 1-2령기에 해당하였으며 발열량의 정점은 유충 4령기와 일치하였다. 4. 발열량을 비교해 보면 Sitophilus spp.와 같이 유충기를 종자내에서 경과하는 해충이 곡물 표면에 서식하는 Triborium sp. 및 Oryzaephilus sp. 보다 대체적으로 발열량이 많았다. 5. 공시된 해충 중에서 Sitophilus zeamais가 발열량이 제일 높고 다음이 Sitophilus granarius, Tribolium confusum 및 Oryzaephilus surinamensis의 순서였다. 6. 이상의 결과를 보면 해충으로 인한 발열은 해충의 종류, 령기 및 이의 밀도, 곡물의 크기 및 형태, 그리고 환경에 따라 영향을 받는다고 하겠다. 7. 해충으로 인한 발열관계는 많은 수의 곤충을 사용하여 이의 생활사를 시험할 때는 필히 검토되어야 한다고 믿어진다.

태양열을 이용한 농산물건조에 관한 연구 (I)-벼의 건조에 대하여 (Drying of Crops with Solar Heated Air -Drying of Rough Rice -)

  • Drying grain with conventional artificial drying methods requires great quantities of petroleum fuels. Depletion of fossil fuel increases the need of the utilization of solar energy as an alternative to petroluem fuels for drying grain , an energy intensive agricultural operation. Many techniques for the utilization of solar energy in grain drying have been developed, however, there are many problems in adopting solar energy as an energy sources for drying grain. Futhermore, very little research has been done on solar grain drying in Korea. This study was conducted to evaluate the availability of solar energy for drying of rough rice in Chuncheon, Suweon, and Jinju areas based on 50year meteorological data, and to analyze experimentally the performance of a solar air collector for dying grain, and to find the effects of solar heated air compared to unheated air on the rate of drying and energy consumption required for drying of rough rice. The results of this study was may be summarized as follows ; 1. Monthly average daily total radiation on a horizontal surface in October was 260.6 ly/day for Chuncheon, 240.3 ly/day for Suweon , and 253.4 ly/day for Jinju area, respectively. 2. the ratio of monthly average daily diffuse radiation to daily total radiation on a horizontal surface was approximately 0.41 for Chuncheon, 0.45 for Suweon, and 0.44 for Jinju area, respectively. 3. Although the statistical distribution curves of daily total radiation for the three locations were not identical , the differences among them were not large and may be neglected for many practical purposes. 4. I was estimated that the optimum tilting angle of the collector in October was approximately 46 degrees for Chuncheon and Suweon and 45 degrees for Jinju. 5. The ratio of the total radiation on a optimum tilting plane to that on a horizontal plane was estimated to be 1.36 for Chuncheon, 1.31 for Suweon, and 1.27 for Jinju , respectively. 6. The collection efficiency of the solar air collector ranged from 47. 8 to 51. 5 percent at the air flow rates of 251. 1-372.96 $m^3$/hr. High efficiency remained nearly , constant during the best sunshine hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and decreased during other hours. More energy was collected as the air flow rate incresed. 7. The average temperature rise in the drying air from the solar collector for the test period varied from $6.5^\circC$ to $21.8^\circC$ above the ambient air temperature. 8. Solar-dried rough rice averaged 13.7 percent moisture (w.b.) after 130 hours of drying with the air flow rate of 1. 64 ccm/$m^3$, and rough rice dried with natural air averaged 15.1 percent moisture (w.b.) after 325 hours of drying with the same air flow rate. 9. Energy saving of 2.4 kwh per $m^3$ percentage point of moisture removed was obtained from solar heated air drYing. The solar bin used 53.3 percent less energy per percentage point of moisture removed than the natural air bin.

  • The addition of titanium has come to produce an increase in the conductivity of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ and has been shown NTC ( negative temperature coefficient ) characteristics. Titanium enters the ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ lattice substitutionally as $Ti^{4+}$,thus producing an $Fe^{2+}$ and maintaining the average charge per cation at three. Thus the $Fe^{2+}$ acts as a donor center with respect to the surrounding $Fe^{3+}$ ions. The sintering temperature, compacting pressure and sintering tire have an effect on the electrical properties. C-V and other properties have been measured on polycrystalline samples of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ containing small deviations from stoichiometry and small amounts of added Titanium. This measurment was made in the course of an investigation of the NTC mechanism in oxides whose cations have a partially filled d-level. C-V and frequency properties have been applied to the measurement of the trap barrier properties at the grain boundary. The double Schottky barrier at the grain boundary is the major cause of the NTC mechanism in NTC thermistor of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ containing N-type impurity.

  • The effects of B2O3 addition on the sintering behavior and th microwave dielectric properties of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics were investigated. By addition of $B_2O_3$, increases the density of the ceramics increases and grain growth enhances, It was densified to over 94% of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ theoretical density by the addition of 0.15-1.0wt% B2O3 and stable microwave dielectric properties observed by the addition of 0.2-0.4wt% $B_2O_3.\;(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ exhibits maximum dielectric constants of 24-25 quality factor($Q{\times}f$) of more than 70000 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of $0\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ by adding of 0.15-0.4wt% $B_2O_3$.

  • 초미세결정렵 Nd-Fe-B-Mo-Cu합금에서 Co 치환이 미세조직과 자기특성에 미치는 영향을 조사 하였다. 급속응고법으로 제조된 비정질 Nd-(Fe, Co)-B-Mo-Cu합금은 결정화에 의하여 $\alpha$-Fe기 초미세결정립 Nd-(Fe, Co)-B-Mo-Cu합금이 제조되었다. Co로의 Fe치환은 결정립 미세화에 기여하며, 이로 인하여 경자기특성이 개선되었다. 최적열처리된 초미세결정립 N $d_4$(F $e_{0.85}$ $Co_{0.15}$)$_{82}$ $B_{10}$M $o_3$Cul합금의 잔류자화, Curie온도는 Co가 치환되지 않은 합금에 비하여 개선된 우수한 특성을 나타내었다. 64$0^{\circ}C$, 10분 열처리된 초미세결정립 N $d_4$(F $e_{0.85}$ $Co_{0.15}$)$_{82}$ $B_{10}$M $o_3$Cu 합금의 평균결정립 크기는 약 15 nm이며, 이때 보자력, 잔류자화 및 최대에너지적은 각각 239kA/m, 1.4 T 및 103.5 kJ/ $m^3$이었다.

  • The molding pressure is also one of the important parameters in the preparation of HTSC materials by the solid state reaction method. In the present study, changes in structural, electrical and microstructural proper-ties with the molding pressure in YiB $a_{2}$C $u_{3}$ $O_{70{\delta}}$ superconductors have been performed. The investigated molding pressures were 0.5*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, 1*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, 2*10$^{3}$ n/c $m^{2}$ and 4*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$. As the molding pressure increased, the anisotropy of the crystal structure decreased and the grains have been grown preferentially in a c-axis direction. Since the size of the grain becomes larger with the decrease of the porosity, denser textures are formed. The results indicated that the critical current density is improved resulting from the enhanced densification due to higher molding pressure. When the molding pressure was between 1*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$ and 2*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, while it did not affect the oxygen deficiency and Tc, the increase of the molding pressure affects remarkably on grain size and densification of the $Y_{1}$B $a_{2}$C $u_{3}$ $O_{7-{\delta}}$. When the molding pressure is larger than 2*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, electrical proper-ties are independent on the molding pressure..
