V345 Cas의 주기변화와 광도곡선 분석

  • Hoffmeister(1943)에 의해 변광성으로 발견된 V345 Cas (2MASS J23083986+5406545, ${\alpha}$(2000.0)=23h08m39.86s & ${\delta}(2000.0)=+54^{\circ}06^{\prime}54.6^{\prime\prime}$)는 B 필터에서 13.1~14.2의 광도 변화를 보이는 것으로 알려진 별이다. 우리는 레몬산 천문대(LOAO)에서 2007년과 2008년에 걸쳐 총 22일간 V345 Cas의 BVRI CCD 측광관측을 수행하여, 처음으로 V345 Cas의 년도 별 전체 광도곡선을 완성하였다. 우리의 관측 자료와 Super WASP에서 공개한 자료를 이용하여 각각 7개의 극심시각을 산출하였다. 우리가 결정한 극심시각을 포함하여 여러 문헌에서 수집한 총 68개의 극심시각을 이용하여 V345 Cas의 주기 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, V345 Cas의 궤도주기는 포물선 모양의 영년변화와 함께 약 30년의 규칙적인 변화를 겪고 있음을 발견하였다. 규칙적인 변화를 제3천체에 의한 광시간 효과로 가정하여 관측된 극심시각에 잘 맞는 광시간 궤도 해를 산출한 결과, 영년주기가 증가하는 경우와 감소하는 경우에 대해, 각각 29.0년과 39.7년 주기를 갖는 두 개의 광시간 궤도 해가 가능하다. 이러한 모호성을 해결하기 위해서 앞으로의 극심시각 관측이 중요하다. 2007년과 2008년 BVRI 광도곡선들은 부극심을 기준으로 좌우가 거의 대칭이며, 1년 사이에 특기할 만한 광도변화를 보이지 않았다. 우리는 이 광도곡선들을 Wilson-Devinney 쌍성 모델을 이용하여 분석하여, V345 Cas의 측광학적 해를 처음으로 산출하였다. 우리가 구한 해에 의하면, 약 88도의 궤도경사각에 두 성분별의 질량비가 약 0.5인 V345 Cas는 질량과 표면 온도가 큰 주성과 로쉬 로브를 채우고 있는 반성으로 구성된 준 분리형 식쌍성계이다.

  • This paper presents an approach for rate control by adaptively selecting macroblock modes in video coding.The problem of rate control has been investigated by many authors where quantizer level is adjustedbased on the buffer fullness. The proposed approach is different fron the previous ones [4] id that it finds the optimal decision curve rather than finding a set of the modes. Proposed algorithm extends the coding decision options for rate control to motion/no-motion compensation as well as inter/intra decisions. Instead of having a fixed motion/no-notion compensation or inter/intra decision curve, one can utilize an adaptive decision curvebased on the characteristics of input frames so that the PSNR at a given bit rate is maximized. Therefore, the proposed approach provides better rate control than simple quantizer feedback approach interns of visual quality. The curve is obtained by utilizing simulated annealing optimization technique. Thealgorithm is implemented and simulations are compared with other approaches within H.261 video codec.

Simulation of lesion-to-liver contrast difference curves in Dynamic Hepatic CT with Pharmacokinetic Compartment Modeling (Pharmacokinetic Compartment Modeling을 이용한 나선식 CT에서의 간암-간 대조 곡선의 Simulation)

  • Contrast-enhanced CT has an important role in assessing liver lesions, the optimal protocol to get most effective result is not clear. The mein goal when deciding injention protocol is to optimize lesion detectability with rapid scanning when lesion to liver contrast is maximum. For this purpose, we developed a physiological model of the contrast medium enhancement based on the compartment modeling and pharmacokinetics. Blood supply to liver is achieved in two paths. This dual supply characteristic distinguishes the CT enhancement of liver from that of the other organs. The first path is by hepatic artery and to second, by portal vein. However, it is assumed that only gepatic artery can supply blood to hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) compartment, thus, the difference of contrast enhancement is resulted between normal liver tissue and hepatic tumor. By solving differential equations for each compartment simultaneously using the computer program Matlab, CT contrast-enhancement curves were simulated. The simulated enhancement curves for aortic, hepatic, portal vein, and HCC compartments were compared with the mean enhancement curves from 24 patients exposed to the same protocols as the simulation. These enhancement curves showed a good agreement. Furthermore, we simulated lesion-to-liver curves for various injection protocols, and the effects were analyzed. The variables to be considered in the injection protocol were injection rate, dose, and concentration of contrast material. These data may help to optimize scanning protocols for better diagnosis.

  • Forming limit diagram is created by graphical illustration indicating major and minor strain. In order to provide the criterion for forming safety, FLC(forming limit curve) need to be fitted to the diagram. However, the standard method for the strain measurement and FLC plotting are not fixed yet, which results in inconvenience in digitalized analysis. In this study, new construction method for FLC was suggested in order to minimize operator dependency. For this purpose, major and minor strain were measured automatically and analyzed. Then, a second order equation is adopted to fit the FLC. Optimized by response surface method was performed to ensure particular characteristics of the FLC.

  • This study was conducted to investigate and interpret the stand structure of Korean Red pine (Pinus densiflora) stands in Kangwon province, so as to provide basics information for effective forest management. The results obtained in this study were as follows : 1. Number of trees distribution for each diameter class have left nonsymmetrical in Gosung districts, but symmetrical distribution in Pyungchang districts. 2. Height curve for D.B.H. Distribution becames liner shape in Pyungchang districts that more higher than Gosung districts. 3. Stand volume and number of trees per ha in Pyungchang districts are higher than Gosung districts. 4. D.B.H. growth increments during recent 5 years at large D.B.H. class has much lager than low D.B.H. class. 5. Total growth increments of D.B.H., height and volume in Pyungchang districts are or the higher than Gosung districts overtimes 15 years later.

  • The power performance monitoring system for a small class of wind turbine is established. The wind turbine power performance characteristics are determined by measured power curve and the estimated annual energy production (AEP). The measured power curve is determined by collecting simultaneous measurements of wind speed and power output at the test site under varying wind conditions. In order to determine the power performance characteristics of the wind turbine accurately, the data are of sufficient quantity and quality shall be corrected according to defined criteria. In this study, the 6kW wind turbine made by Germany Inventus GmbH is examined.

  • Thermoluminescent properties of $Li_2B_4O_7$ single crystal grown by Czochralski method have been investigated. The high quality $Li_2B_4O_7$ single crystal without core was obtained at rotation speed of 10 rpm for seed crystal and pulling speed below $0.18\;mm{\cdot}h^{-1}$. The structure of $Li_2B_4O_7$ single crystal was classified as tetragonal by XRD analysis. The TL glow curve was composed with three overlapped peaks which can be easily deconvoluted and the TL response of $Li_2B_4O_7$ single crystal TLD to X-ray radiation is linear within the range of $50\;mGy{\sim}1.5\;Gy$. Activation energies of three TL glow peaks analyzed by the various heating rates method and PL spectrum were 0.93, 1.78 and 2.25 eV, respectively.

  • 소하천에서의 효율적인 유량측정 수행을 위해서 K-water(한국수자원공사) 충청지역본부에서는 금강유역의 보청천 지류인 곰쟁이천에 원격유량측정시설 개념의 위어(weir)를 이용한 고정단면 시설물을 2006년도에 설치하였으며, 2007년부터 2009년까지 시설물 직하류에서 도섭을 통한 유량측정을 실시하였고 3차원 흐름해석 결과와의 비교를 통해 소하천 원격유량측정시설의 적정성을 분석하였다. 총 55회의 유량측정 성과를 이용하여 수위-유량 관계곡선식을 산정하였으며, FLOW-3D를 이용하여 3차원 흐름해석을 실시하였다. Francis 유량산정 공식인 Q=$1.84bH^{3/2}$을 통해 계산되는 수위별 유량, 유량측정 성과에 의한 수위-유량 관계곡선식, 그리고 FLOW-3D로부터 계산된 수위별 유량을 비교하였으며, 실측유량과 계산된 유량의 차이를 비교 검토하였다. 이러한 비교 검토를 통해 소유량 구간에 대해서는 원격유량측정시설의 적정성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 갈수시 미소유량이 흐르는 소하천에 위치한 지점에 대해서는 인력 및 비용이 많이 소요되는 도섭을 통한 직접 유량측정 수행보다는 검증된 유량측정시설(위어, 파샬플룸 등)을 통한 유량측정이 더욱 효과적인 것으로 판단되었다.

Antifungal Activity of Bacillus polyfermenticus CJ6 Isolated from Meju (메주로부터 분리한 Bacillus polyfermenticus CJ6의 항진균 활성)

  • The CJ6 bacterial strain, which possesses strong antifungal activity, was isolated from meju and identified as Bacillus polyfermenticus based on Gram staining, biochemical properties, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. B. polyfermenticus CJ6 showed antimicrobial activity against the various pathogenic molds, yeasts, and bacteria. Antifungal activity from B. polyfermenticus CJ6 was reduced after 24 hr at $70^{\circ}C$ but antifungal activity was not completely destroyed. The antifungal activity was stable in the pH range of $3.0{\sim}9.0$, and inactivated by proteinase K, protease, and ${\alpha}$-chymotrypsin, which indicate its proteinaceous nature. The apparent molecular masses of the partially purified antifungal compound, as indicated by using the direct detection method in Tricine-SDS-PAGE, was approximately 1.4 kDa.

  • 최근 시공간 데이타에 대한 OLAP연산 효율을 증가시키기 위한 여러 가지 연구들이 행하여지고 있다. 이들 연구의 대부분은 다중트리구조에 기반하고 있다. 다중트리구조는 공간차원을 색인하기 위한 하나의 R-tree와 시간차원을 색인하기 위한 다수의 B-tree로 이루어져 있다. 하지만, 이러한 다중트리구조는 높은 유지비용과 불충분한 질의 처리 효율로 인해 현실적으로 시공간 OLAP연산에 적용하기에는 어려운 점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 근본적으로 개선하기 위한 접근 방법으로서 힐버트큐브(Hilbert Cube, H-Cube)를 제안하고 있다. H-Cube는 집계질의(aggregation query) 처리 효율을 높이기 위해 힐버트 곡선을 이용하여 셀들에게 완전순서(total-order)를 부여하고 있으며, 아울러 전통적인 누적합(prefix-sum) 기법을 함께 적용하고 있다. H-Cube는 적응적이며, 완전순서화되어 있으며, 또한 누적합을 이용한 셀 기반의 색인구조이다. 본 논문에서는 H-Cube의 성능 평가를 위해서 다양한 실험을 하였으며, 그 결과로서 유지비용과 질의 처리 효율성면 모두에서 다중트리구조보다 높은 성능 향상이 있음을 보인다.
