Purpose: This study was aimed to provide information on the awareness of patient safety culture and safety care activities among operating room (OR) nurses and to analyze the factors influencing the safety care activities. Methods: For this descriptive research, self-reported questionnaires were administered to 168 OR nurses who were working at the university-affiliated and general hospitals. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\grave{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 17.0. Results: The mean score of the awareness on patient safety culture was 3.27 out of 5 points and that of safety care activity was 4.31 out of 5. The statistically significant difference was found between experience of safety education and the awareness on patient safety culture. Also, the scores of safety care activities were significantly different according to OR nurses' position, education levels, and experience of safety education. There was a positive correlation between the awareness of patient safety culture and safety care activity. Their explanatory power on safety care activity was 8.8%, which includes working environment in operating room 3.3% and nursing position 5.5%. Conclusion: Compared to the level of patient safety activities, the OR nurses' awareness on patient safety culture was low. Given the specific characteristics and conditions in each hospital, it needs to increase the OR nurses' awareness on patient safety culture and activities related to patient safety.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness levels of Korean textile companies and develop appropriate response plans for the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement. Through such, the study aims to explore practical and realistic directions that the Korean textile industry must take in the future. As for the research method, a survey on the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement was conducted to 50 Korean textile companies which mainly deal in textile exports. Results showed that Korean textile companies possess above average awareness for the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement and carry the perception that the FTA has thus far had a positive effect of market revitalization and contributions to sales. Nonetheless, perceptions on the needs for the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement and level of awareness were below average while government assistance seen to be unsatisfactory. Such results suggest that measures for successful access to the U.S. market require developing products customized for the U.S. market and creating new market opportunities by participating in U.S. exhibits and shows. In addition, textile companies must develop their abilities for self-sustainability through continuous FTA related programs provided by government in addition to investing efforts to understand global markets within companies through response measures on the FTA as a whole.
The aim of this paper is to provide teacher awareness and the status of robot based instruction(RBI) by focusing on the school curriculum. To gather that information, we conducted a questionnaire survey composed of six items to 116 teachers who have had experiences on RBI. The questions are about the fit school year for RBI, the fit subjects for it, the possibility of applying it to regular subject, the fit students' learning levels for it, the fit learning styles for it and effective methods to apply it to regular subject teachers. The result is as follows: (1) RBI is suitable for fifth and sixth grade in elementary school and all grades in high school. (2) It is suitable for all regular subjects in all schools. (3) It is more effective for the students who have average learning level. (4) It fits into introverted students more than the other style of learners. (5) It is likely to be more effective in supporting of learning and understanding of the contents than merely assisting the teachers' instruction. (6) The teachers showed positive awareness on applying RBI to subject of creative activities. The results are significant in relation to the following two views. First, we can get the positive possibility in applying school curriculum using RBI. Second we can foresee that RBI will provide an innovative paradigm to school curriculum. In addition, the results of this paper can be used as preliminary information for developing models and programs on RBI.
Objectives: In this paper, we propose the ethical education direction by analyzing the personal information recognition and practice of music therapists. Methods: For the analyses, we selected 60 music therapists who answered a questionnaire from members of K Music Therapy Association, and analyzed task recognition and practice ask performance using IPA method. Results: In the IPA table, the areas of high recognition and practice (1) are the areas of personal information protection information management. In the IPA table, the areas of low awareness and high practice (2) are areas of privacy communication for those who have completed ethics education. In the IPA table, the areas of low awareness and low practice (3) are areas of privacy communication when ethics education is not completed. In the IPA table, areas of high awareness and low levels of practice (4) are areas of privacy protection. Purpose: This study investigated the effects that the use of a booklet for intensive care unit nurses had on radiation safety management education (knowledge about and behaviors in radiation safety management, and awareness of anxiety caused by radiation hazards). Methods: A randomized control group pretest-posttest design was used. A booklet about radiation safety management developed by the authors was used as educational material. Participants (N=42) were intensive care unit nurses of P hospital in B city. Training was provided to the experimental group (N=21). Knowledge about and behaviors in radiation safety management and awareness of anxiety caused by radiation hazards were measured by questionnaires before and after the intervention. Data was analyzed by an $X^2$-test, non-paired t-test, and paired t-test. Results: There was a significant difference between groups in knowledge of (t=-14.932, p<.001) and behaviors in (t=-8.297, p<.001) radiation safety management and awareness of anxiety caused by radiation hazards (t=9.378, p<.001). Conclusion: The levels of knowledge about and behaviors in radiation safety management and awareness of anxiety generated by radiation hazards of intensive care unit nurses increased after receiving one session of radiation safety management education using the booklet. Therefore, providing radiation safety management training is suggested as an effective strategy for improving radiation safety management.
This study compared data regarding industrial accidents and awareness level for beauty product safety for four main parts of beauty industry such as hair-care, nail-care, skin-care, and make-up. Major risk factors in beauty industry are dust, musculoskeletal disorders, and organic solvent of beauty product in order of percentage. The specific types of industrial accidents in beauty industry are mainly associated with musculoskeletal system such as cuts, sprain, and varicose vein. They are mainly compensated by personal budget. The awareness levels of chemical and heavy metal containment for beauty product by beauty industry employee were 77.2% and 59.1% respectively. Most employee confirmed only important items of labelling requirement of beauty product. Also, most employee did not understand MSDS(Materila Safety Data) for chemicals used in beauty industry. Only 38.1% of beauty industry employee has had safety education while most employee (73.6%) realized that they needed safety education. Also, safety education supervised by KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency) was the most preferred. This study would be good basis for safe and healthy working environment of beauty industry employee.
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of the individual nutrition education for type 2 diabetes who participate the diabetes buffet. The subjects were 66 patients and divided into education (n=34) and control groups (n=32). The mean age of education and control groups were 59.8 and 56.6 years old, respectively. There were no differences in age and body mass index (BMI) between two groups. Initial glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), post prandial plasma glucose (PP2), total plasma cholesterol, and blood pressure were not different between two groups. But fasting blood sugar (FBS) was higher in education group than in control group. On completion of the study, the education group showed significant decreases in body weight, BMI, FBS and PP2, however, the control group showed no changes in body weight, BMI and PP2, and showed a significant increase in FBS. Initial calorie and protein intakes of the education group did not meet the prescribed amount, however, mineral and vitamin intakes were higher than estimated average requirement (EAR). By the end of study, calorie and protein intakes were significantly increased to meet the prescription. In order to evaluate the effect of diet education, awareness of calorie requirement was used as an index of understanding diet prescription. The degree of awareness of calorie requirement was dependent on age: younger patients showed higher awareness than older subjects. The subject who showed better understanding of diet prescription showed lower levels of HbA1c, FBS, and PP2 at the end of the experiment period. The results of this study clearly show that individual diabetes diet education is effective to make the patient understand their diet prescription, and is effective to control body weight and blood sugar level. Awareness of calorie requirement could be used as an index of understanding of prescribed diet. Since age is an important variable to determine the awareness of calorie requirement, different strategies of nutrition education should be developed for different age groups, especially patients over 70 years old.
