  • This paper describes a hybrid multi-output three-level DC/DC converter suitable for a wide, high-input voltage range of an auxiliary power supply for a high-power photovoltaic generating system. In a high-power photovoltaic generating system, the solar panel output voltage depends on solar radiation quantity and varies from 450Vdc to 1100Vdc. The proposed hybrid multi-output three-level DC/DC converter, which is an auxiliary power supply, would be used as power source for control printed circuit boards and relay and cooling fans in a high-power photovoltaic generating system. The proposed multi-output ($24V_{DC}/30A$, $230V_{DC}/5A$) hybrid three-level boost converter, which uses an energy recovery snubber, is controlled by variable-frequency and phase-shifted modulations and can achieve zero-voltage switching with all operating conditions of input voltage and load range. Experimental results of a 2kW prototype are evaluated and implemented to verify the performance of the proposed converter.

  • In this paper, an auxiliary power supply (APS) for railroad cars is proposed. The APS can reduce the number of devices required to supply power through structural modification and operates at a high switching frequency by application of a SiC device. The voltage stress on the device in the proposed circuit can be reduced to less than half of the input voltage of the system; thus, a device with low breakdown voltage can be designed. By adapting a SiC device instead of an IGBT device, the proposed circuit can reduce switching and conduction losses and operate at a high switching frequency, thereby reducing output voltage and inductor current ripples in the proposed circuit. The theoretical analysis results of the proposed APS are verified with a 40 kW computer-based simulation and a 2 kW experiment.

  • 본 논문은 각종 보조운전설비가 연계된 제지공장용 열병합발전시스템의 합리적인 운전계획을 수립하는 기법을 제시하였다. 보조운전설비로서는 보조보일러, 폐열보일러 및 슬러지 소각로가 있으며, 이 설비들이 다기 열병합발전시스템과 연계하여 운전되고 있다. 최적운전계획은 특히 환경을 고려하기 위해 목적함수에 환경요소를 추가하여 수립하였다. 전력은 구매할수있도록 전력회사와 연계되어 운전된다. 본 논문에서 제시한 최적운전계획기법은 제지공장의 에너지이용률을 향상시키는데 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

  • As a main part of an utility helicopter, the APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) has a solenoid valve system operated with a torque motor, which controls the flow rate in the fuel supply system. In this paper, we solved the Maxwell potential equations to analyze the electromagnetic force in the torque motor, and some additional analytic methods are used to compute the quantity of torque produced by the torque motor for the given circuit current. For the convenience, small displacement is assumed, and only magneto-static problem is considered for the two-dimensional cross section. The result will be compared with the three-dimensional analysis that will be studied in the near future.

  • The diesel Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for vehicle applications is a complex nonlinear system. For the purpose of this paper presents a dynamic average model of the whole system in an entirely physical way, which accounts for the non-ideal behavior of the diode rectifier, the nonlinear phenomena of generator-rectifier set in an elegant way, and also the dynamics of the dc load and diesel engine. Simulation results show the accuracy of the model. Based on the average model, a simple PI control scheme is proposed for the multivariable system, which includes the steps of model linearization, separate PI controller design with robust tuning rules, stability verification of the overall system by considering it as an uncertain one. Finally it is tested on a detailed switching model and good performances are shown for both set-point following and disturbance rejection.

  • This paper explores the power distribution problem of parallel-connected inverter system which supplies auxiliary power for railway facilities. We propose a droop control method which facilities power distribution and restrain of voltage drop by tracking the average power control command by adjusting the virtual impedance. The performance of proposed droop method is verified by the PSIM simulation.

개선된 보조전원장치에 의한 고조파 저감대책 (Harmonic Reduction Scheme By the Advanced Auxiliary Voltage Supply)

  • 본 논문에서는 12펄스 정류기의 커패시터 중앙 DC버스에 개선된 보조전원장치를 설치하는 방법을 제안하였다. 11차 및 13차 고조파가 감소하는 이론적인 배경을 다루었으며 부하전류의 크기, 전원전압의 위상 및 크기, 커패시터 전압에 따라 개선된 보조전원의 파형 및 크기가 어떻게 제어되어야 하는지를 제시하였다. 기존의 구형파 보조전원장치를 적용한 경우는 전 영역에서 고조파 왜형률이 6~60[%]로 큰 편차를 보이지만 본 눈문에서 제안하는 개선된 보조전원장치를 적용한 경우 저 부하에서 고 부하에 이르는 전 영역에서 57~71[%] 라는 안정되고 뛰어난 고조파 왜형율 저감 효과를 보인다. 특히 10[%] 부하상태에서 기존방식은 고조파 왜형율 저감 효과가 6[%]로 효과가 거의 없지만 제안된 방식은 71[%]라는 놀라운 저감성능을 보여주고 있다. 소프트웨어 PSIM을 활용하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방식의 유효성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper proposes a 18-step back-to-back voltage source converter using four sets of 3-Level converter module with auxiliary circuit to increase the number of steps. The proposed back-to-back voltage source converter has an independent control capability of active power and reactive power at the interconnected ac system. The operational feasibility of proposed system was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was verified through experimental results with a scaled hardware model. The proposed back-to-back converter can be widely applied for interconnecting the renewable energy source to the power grid.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 이중접속 방식의 60-스텝 인버터를 제안하고 이를 이용한 대용량 STATCOM에 관하여 동작원리 및 제어방식을 기술하기로 한다. 기존의 12-스텝 인버터에 간단한 보조회로를 추가하여 출력전압의 파형을 60-스텝으로 개선하였다 제안한 방식의 인버터는 커패시터의 전압분할이 필요하지 않아 간접제어 방식의 적용이 용이하며 $10Mvar\~30Mvar$급 범위의 STATCOM에 적용하면 경제적이다. 2KVA급 시작품의 실험결과로부터 제안한 방식의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper describes performance analysis of ARCP Inverter, which can offer zero voltage switching at nominal voltage stress. The system consists of a voltage-source inverter with sort-switching module. Each main switch is connected in parallel with resonant capacitor and two auxiliary switches are placed in series with a resonant reactor for soft-switching capability. The described ARCP inverter could be effectively applied for active power filter reactive power compensator, and UPS.
