A Bio-database Management System for the Monitoring and Automatic FTP of Public Databases

  • Many bioinformatics sites have managed local bio-databases, including major databases such as GenBank and PIR with update load. We have developed several programs to monitor the update status of these databases and to FTP them automatically. These programs can be used for maintaining local bio-databases as recent versions and providing up-to-date databases through FTP sites. Currently, the program serves major bio-databases and will extend to accommodate many more bio-databases.

  • Nowadays, due to development of automatic control devices and various sensors, one operator can freely handle several remote plants and processes. Automatic diagnosis and warning systems have been adopted in various fields, in order to prepare an operator's absence for patrolling plants. In this paper, a Bayesian networks based on-line diagnosis system is proposed for a wastewater treatment process. Especially, the suggested system is included learning structure, which can continuosly update conditional probabilities in the networks. To evaluate performance of proposed model, we made a lab-scale five-stage step-feed enhanced biological phosphorous removal process plant and applied on-line diagnosis system to this plant in the summer.

  • In this paper, I propose an automatic background extraction method and continuous background updating technique. Because there is a movement of a vehicle and a change of a background is feeble, the area moving through the time axis is looked for and a background and a vehicle image is divided. A way to give dynamically the threshold which divides the image frame into a vehicle image and the background in a space is enforced. Through the repetition of the above-mentioned process, the background pictorial image is gained. Using the karlman filter technique, the update is done so that a background image can obey a climate situation and an environmental change in day and night. A background image processed algorithm is better than the existent one. Through simulation, the feasibility of the algorithm has been verified.

  • In this paper, we develop system to backup automatically personal data by real time based on ECA model. This system backups data that is changed in user PC using CDP technology based on ECA model. Proposed ECA model defines file's change such as file creation, update, remove etc. in user PC to event for synchronization between server and user PC. If event is detected about file, proposed system examines condition that is defined and backup the file to server. Backup data that is stored to server can recovery on point of time that user wants. The proposed system can be applied to data management system for business, personal data management system, high-capacity contents management system etc.

  • As video equipments such as CCTV are used for various purposes in fields of society, digital video data processing technology such as automatic motion detection is essential. In this paper, we proposed and implemented a more stable and accurate motion detection system based on background subtraction technique. We could improve the accuracy and stability of motion detection over existing methods by efficiently processing color information of digital image data. We divided the procedure of color information processing into each components of color information : brightness component, color component of color information and merge them. We can process each component's characteristics with maximum consideration. Our color information processing provides more efficient color information in motion detection than the existing methods. We improved the success rate of motion detection by our background update process that analyzed the characteristics of the moving background in the natural environment and reflected it to the background image.

  • 이 논문은 단백질의 기능분석을 위해 핵심적으로 요구되는 단백질 상호작용 관계정보 및 기능정보 등을 체계적으로 제공할 수 있는 WASPIFA (Web-based Assistant System for Protein-protein Interaction and function Analysis) 시스템에 대해서 다루고 있다. WASPIFA 시스템은 특정 분야에 국한해서 단편적 정보를 제공하는 기존의 단백질 기능 및 상호작용 분석 시스템과는 달리 분석하고자 하는 서열의 종합적인 정보 즉, 기능정보 및 주석정보, 도메인 정보, 상호작용 관계정보 등을 제공한다. 일반 검색 및 분석 시스템에서 제공하지 못하는 종합적인 정보들은 다양한 전처리 과정을 통해서 얻어진 데이터 및 정보 등을 시스템 내에 로컬 데이터베이스화해 놓은 것이다. 최종 사용자는 종합적인 정보를 통해서 올바른 평가와 판단을 통해서 효과적인 단백질 상호작용 분석과 기능분석을 행할 수 있다. 또한 자동관리 및 데이터 갱신 기능을 갖추고 있어 시스템 관리자가 효율적으로 시스템을 유지 및 관리할 수 있다.

전자책에서 동적 사용자 피드백의 편집을 위한 피드백 클루 모델의 제안 (A Feedback Clue Model for Dynamically Updating e-book Content from User Feedback)

  • The emergence of E-book have allowed readers to interact with other readers and to actively participate (e.g. social reading). Furthermore, there is a growing demand in writer's community to take the advantage of the feedback from their readers to update the content of E-book. To do that, they require the service that utilizes the user feedback while creating or updating the e-book content. This study aims to let authors collect and to apply the reader's feedback on E-book content. However, in order to apply the user feedback, users first need to explicitly type the feedback, and even if they do, authors need to develop the software to automatically analyze and to apply the user feedback. This makes difficult for authors without programming background to produce E-book with automatic content adaptation. In this paper, we propose Feedback Clue Model to generate, analyze and apply the user feedback into E-book content. Based on this model, we develop the block editor which allows easy implementation of E-book that can be dynamically updated.

Analyzing Online Customer Reviews for the Hotel Classification in Vietnam

  • The classification standards for hotels in Vietnam are different from many other hotel classification standards in the world. This study aims to analyze customer reviews on the TripAdvisor website to develop a new algorithm for hotel rating that is independent of Vietnam's hotel classification standards. This method can be applied to individual hotels, or hotels of a region or the whole country, while online booking sites only rate individual hotels. Data was crawled from TripAdvisor with 22,287 reviews of 5 cities in Vietnam. This study used a statistical model to analyze the review dataset and build an algorithm to rate hotels according to aspects or hotel overall. The results have less rating deviation when compared to the TripAdvisor system. This study also supports hotel managers to regularly update the status of their hotels using data from customer reviews, from which, managers can strategize long-term solutions to improve the quality of the hotel in all aspects and attract more travelers to Vietnam. Moreover, this method can be developed into an automatic system to rate hotels and update the status of service quality more quickly, thus, saving time and costs.

XML 문서에 자동 전파하는 XML 스키마 변경 접근법 (XML Schema Evolution Approach Assuring the Automatic Propagation to XML Documents)

  • XML은 자기 기술적인 특징이 있기 때문에 구조를 한정하기 위해서 DTD 또는 XML 스키마를 사용한다. XML 스키마가 아직 권고안에 불과하지만 DTD는 XML 언어가 아니고 표현에도 한계가 있기 때문에 XML 스키마의 사용이 보편화 될 것이다. XML 문서의 구조와 데이터는 XML 스키마의 잘못된 디자인, 어플리케이션의 새로운 요구 등의 여러 복합적인 이유로 변할 수가 있다. 이에 우리는 XML 스키마 진화(schema evolution)을 분석하여 w;ls화의 기능을 실현할 수 있는 최소한의 연산자들을 제안한다. 이러한 스키마 진화 연산자들은 XML스키마에 순응하는 XML 문서의 수가 많을 경우, XSE가 없다면 불가능한 XML 스키마와 XML 문서의 수정을 가능하게 한다. 더욱이 연산자들은 자동적으로 XML 스키마에 등록되어 있는 모든 XML 문서의 수정위치를 찾아주고 수정 후에도 XML 문서를 well-form 상태가 아닌 valid 상태를 유지시키는 기능을 포함하고 있다 이 논문은 XML 스키마를 체계적으로 수정하는 첫 번째 시도이며 XML의 수정에 필요한 대부분의 연산을 제공한다. 이 논문의 연구는 XML 문서의 구조뿐만 아니라 데이터까지 쉽고 정확하게 수정하는 것을 도와주기 때문에 XML 어플리케이션의 개발과 유지를 위해 꼭 필요한 작업이다.
