This paper presents the AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) system using the binary CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) radio technology. The binary CDMA is the new radio technology in domestic research. Main implementation topics includes the binary CDMA remote meter reading system, the wireless piconet configuration for the wireless automatic meter reading, and the transmission scheduling for sending and receiving data. Also, the wireless packet data encryption is very important topics for the wireless automatic meter reading. The proposed AMR system is implemented as a pilot project in Jeju and Gangwon. It can be seen that the wireless remote reading using the binary CDMA wireless technology can be applied to the AMR system.

본 논문은 새로운 구조의 AMR(원격검침)/AMI(첨단계량인프라)를 시스템 개발에 관한 연구이다. 개발된 시스템은 기존시스템 보다 가격이 저렴하고, 검침 시간이 단축되고, 설치가 용이하다. 개발된 시스템을 적용하면 한국의 일반 가정에서 기본으로 사용하고 있는 전기, 수도, 가스, 온수 및 난방의 5종 계량기의 계량값을 원격검침 하고 이에 대한 AMI 적용이 가능하다. 제안된 시스템이 이론과 실제 적용에 있어서 경제성과 신뢰성 모두 우수함과, AMI 적용에 기존 시스템보다 더 적합함을 테스트 결과에 보여준다.

전력검침은 전력 사용요금을 부과하기 위하여 전력사용량을 측정하는 행위를 말하며, 이를 자동화한 시스템을 전력원격검침(AMR: Automatic Meter Reading)이라 한다. 전력원격검침은 검침 인력을 시스템으로 대체해 원가를 줄이고 고객 서비스를 강화할 수 있는 시스템으로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 전력원격검침 모델의 대안으로 스마트카드 기반의 전력원격검침 프레임워크 SCEMS를 제안하고 구현하였다. 제안된 SCEMS 프레임워크는 자바카드 기반의 다기능 스마트카드를 사용하며, 스마트카드에 수집된 자료와 가구의 전력사용 패턴을 활용하여 다양한 요금제를 지원하는 등의 고객서비스를 제공한다. 제안된 원격검침 모델 연구는 전력산업의 환경변화에서 초래할 다원화, 이질화, 복합화에 대한 해결방안이 될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Recently, distribution load analysis using AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) data is researched in electric utilities. Load analysis method based on AMR system generates the typical load profile using load data of AMR customers, estimates the load profile of non-AMR customers, and analyzes the peak load and load profile of the distribution circuits and sectors per every 15 minutes/hour/day/week/month. Typical load profile is generated by the algorithm calculating the average amount of power consumption of each groups having similar load patterns. Traditional customer clustering mechanism uses only contract type code as a key. This mechanism has low accuracy because many customers having same contract code have different load patterns. In this research, We propose a customer clustring mechanism using k-means algorithm with contract type code and AMR data.

본 논문은 가정의 6종 미터기(수도, 온수, 난방, 냉방, 가스, 전력량)의 계량을 통합하여 검침할 수 있는 통합 검침장치 지시부(HCD)를 개발에 대한 연구이다. 본 개발 장치에서는 각 세대의 6종 계량기의 계량값을 원격으로 검침하여 표시부에 표출하는 한편, 이 검침값들을 통신라인을 통하여 원격검침 서버컴퓨터로 보내질 수 있는 기능을 구현하기 위하여 2개의 MCU로 미터기 검침과 서버응답 기능을 분리하여 수행하는 방법을 제시한다. HCD의 하드웨어 설계, 통신 프로토콜, HCD 용 LCD 설계, 프로그램 구성 등과 함께 완성된 시스템의 테스트 결과를 보여준다. 제안된 방법에 의하여 개발된 시스템을 automatic meter reading(AMR)에 적용할 경우 기존시스템 보다 응답이 빠르며, 가격, 설치비, 유지비 등이 저렴한 장점이 있다.

검침원이 방문을 통하여 계량기 지침을 읽고, 핸디 터미널을 이용하여 지침값을 입력하는 검침업무 시스템은 사생활 침해, 미검침 처리 및 오검침, 과다한 검침 비용 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이런 고객서비스질의 저하를 막기 위하여 계량기의 지침을 자동으로 인식하고, RF 모듈를 이용하여 무선으로 검침데이터를 전송할 수 있는 원격검침 시스템을 설계하였다. 검침 데이터의 원시 자료 수집부터 수용가의 사용량 정보에 대한 통계정보 관리에 이르기까지의 전체적인 시스템을 설계함으로써 고객에게 보다 정확하고 구체적인 사용 정보를 제공하여 서비스의 만족도와 신뢰도를 향상 시킬 수 있으리라 사료된다.

본 논문에서는 자동 원격검침을 위한 전력선 통신에서의 등화기 기법인 zero-forcing (ZF)와 minimum mean square error (MMSE) 기법을 제안하고 분석하였다. 전력선 통신을 이용한 효율적인 AMR 시스템 구현을 위해서 임펄스 노이즈와 다중경로 채널의 영향들은 완화되어야 한다. 이러한 영향들을 극복하기 위해, 앞서 말한 등화기 기법들을 사용하였다. 시스템 성능은 비트오류율 (BER)에 의해서 평가되어진다. 모의실험 결과로부터 등화기가 전력선 통신 시스템의 BER 성능을 현저하게 향상시키고 MMSE가 ZF보다 더 나은 성능을 제공함을 확인하였다. 본 논문의 실험 결과는 AMR 시스템뿐만 아니라, 다양한 스마트 그리드 서비스에도 적용될 수 있다.

The research on Automatic Meter Reading(AMR) using PSTN. Power Line and Wireless network, is currently lead by the utilities, and it is intended to improve the ordinary manual reading method, so more accurate reading and management can be achieved. In this thesis, AMR system based on two-way paging was studied.

The inspection of a meter is an action that measures the amount of electricity, water and gas used to impose user on a charge. This paper deals with the measurement and analysis of radio characteristic of 424 MHz for using the automation of transmission and supply of electric power, ana automatic meter reading(AMR). Normally radio propagation characteristic is the base of system design, performance evaluation and choice of position of the base station in wireless communication. It is the most accurate way to design a base station through practical measurements, but it costs much time, money and engineers. So, we developed 424 MHz short range wave propagation model for AMR service.
