Delaunay triangulation for efficient reduction of measured point data (측정데이터의 효율적 감소를 위한 De Iaunay 삼각형 분할의 적용)

  • Reverse engineering has been widely used for the shape reconstruction of an object without CAD data and it includes some steps such as scanning of a clay or wood model, and generating some manufacturing data in an STL file. A new approach to remove point data with Delaunay triangulation is introduced to deal with the size problems of STL file and the difficulties in the operation of RP process. This approach can be used to reduce a number of measuring data from laser scanner within a specified tolerance, thus it can avoid the time for handing point data during modeling process and the time for verifying and slicing STL model during RP process. Developed software enables the user to specify the criteria for the selection of group of triangles either by the angle between triangles or the percentage of triangles reduced, and thus RP models with accuracy will be helpful to automated process.

  • The Controller Area Network (CAN) is being widely used in real-time control applications such as automobiles, aircraft, and automated factories. Unfortunately, CAN, in its current form, is not able to either share out the system bandwidth among the different devices fairly or to grant an upper bound on the transmission times experienced by the nodes connected to the communication medium as it happens, for instance, in the token-based networks. In this paper. we present the message scheduling for CAN, based on the distributed control scheme to integrate actuators and sensors in a humanoid robot. Besides introducing the new algorism, this paper also presents some performance figures obtained using a specially developed software simulator, while the behavior of the new algorism is compared with the traditional CAN systems, in order to see how effective they are.

Computer Aided Design of RC Structures

  • After reviewing the background and motivations for using modern computational methods for the design of reinforced concrete structures, an algorithm making use of the object oriented programming language Python and professionally developed finite element software is presented for the sizing and placement of the reinforcement in RC structures. The developed method is then used to design the reinforcement of a deep beam. To validate the design, two identical deep beam specimens were manufactured with the obtained steel, and then tested in the laboratory. It was found that the experimental results corroborated those predicted with the finite element design method.

GIS-based Meteorological Data Processing Technology for Forest Fire Danger Rating Forecast System of China

  • The data of average temperature, average relative humidity, precipitation and average wind speed were collected from 674 meteorological stations in China. A specific procedure that processes original data into a new data format needed in forest fire danger rating forecast system of China was introduced systematically, and the feasibility of this method was validated in this paper. In addition, a set of meteorological data processing software was constructed by the secondary development of GIS in order to realize automation of processing data for the system. Results showed that the approach preformed well in handling temperature, average relative humidity and average wind speed, and the processing effect of precipitation was acceptable. Moreover, the automated procedure could be achieved by GIS and the working efficiency was about 3 times as much as that of manual handling. The informationization level of processing meteorological data was greatly enhanced.

  • Riveting is mainly used to assemble the aircraft fuselage. An average of 2~3 workers is needed to assemble an aircraft fuselage consisting of various size frames by riveting. In this study, a riveting process that enables one-person operation using an automated C-frame riveting machine was proposed for improving the efficiency of productivity. The proposed process was verified stability through structural analysis. In the range that can maintain structural stability, panel thickness of the riveting machine and shape were modified to optimizing the shape for reducing the weight of the riveting process. The structural analysis was performed by software ANSYS workbench 19.2. The optimized riveting machine was reduced by 257kg compared to the existing model.

  • 본 연구에서는 자동화된 VLSI 제조 시스템 환경에서의 로트 조정기 및 범용 셀 제어기의 구축에 필요한 새로운 소프트웨어 구조 및 프로토콜을 제시하였다. 반도체 제조 시스템의 운용 제어 활동은 로트 조정기와 범용 셀 제어기가 상호 협조적으로 통신하는 클라이언트/서버 구조로 모형화 되었으며, 로트 조정기는 하나 이상의 작업을 수행할 수 있는 범용 셀 제어기에 작업을 의뢰하는 클라이언트로서 작동된다. 반도체 제조 시스템의 운용 소프트웨어와 관련된 기존의 연구들이 개념적인 구조와 전략 만을 다루었던 것과는 달리, 본 연구에서는 생산 설비 뿐만 아니라 물류운반 장치의 제어를 위하여 상세한 수준에서의 설계가 제시되었다. 본 연구의 특징으로는 설비 구성, 로트 형태, 일정 계획 규칙 등의 변경에 대한 동적 재구성 가능성을 들 수 있다. 또한 제안된 설계는 상용화된 프로세스 통신 기능을 사용하여 구현이 용이하다.

  • GPIB-based measurement applications are common in every field of multi-instrument environment. Also personal computers and workstations play a key role in measurement ability to create cost-effective instrument control solutions. For simple data acquisition systems which are automated by GPIB interface, standard GPIB controllers add a little burden to the budget for DAQ. In this paper, we provide software and hardware construction methods for cost-effective custom-made GPIB controller boards both for controllers and instruments. This way of tailored configuration to suit a particular application of GPIB-based instrument control solution pays dividends in cost and flexibility for data processing management.

  • In this study we do for the thing to develop automatic geometry design program of a mechanical element that we have used in CAD/CAM system. The program, which produces automatically three-dimensional surface and a solid model that have been used in CAD/CAM system, widely create automated two and three-dimensional model to by inputting several necessaries for a design, fur the design element. It is emphasized if you are just a beginner having only basic knowledge of the mechanical engineering, you might be able to design easily a three-dimensional model. The software to be used to develop automatic geometry design program is visualLISP to be a developer program of AutoCAD.

Development of Multiple Neural Network for Fault Diagnosis of Complex System (복합시스템 고장진단을 위한 다중신경망 개발)

  • Automated production system is composed of many complicated techniques and it become a very difficult task to control, monitor and diagnose this compound system. Moreover, it is required to develop an effective diagnosing technique and reduce the diagnosing time while operating the system in parallel under many faults occurring concurrently. This study develops a Modular Artificial Neural Network(MANN) which can perform a diagnosing function of multiple faults with the following steps: 1) Modularizing a complicated system into subsystems. 2) Formulating a hierarchical structure by dividing the subsystem into many detailed elements. 3) Planting an artificial neural network into hierarchical module. The system developed is implemented on workstation platform with $X-Windows^{(r)}$ which provides multi-process, multi-tasking and IPC facilities for visualization of transaction, by applying the software written in $ANSI-C^{(r)}$ together with $MOTIF^{(r)}$ on the fault diagnosis of PI feedback controller reactor. It can be used as a simple stepping stone towards a perfect multiple diagnosing system covering with various industrial applications, and further provides an economical approach to prevent a disastrous failure of huge complicated systems.
