  • A bellows diaphragm design program for mechanical seal was developed in this study. This program was written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD system with a personal computer. Basic design concept used in this program is composition of a convolution that is tangent to two lines and five circles from given design parameters(initial radius, inner and outer diameter, thickness, pitch, etc.). The effects of altering some design parameters on stress distribution of bellows were estimated using commercial FEM code, NISAII. As a result, the bellows diaphragm for mechanical seal was successfully designed by the program. The FEM result shows that stress is dependent on straight line length and bellows diameter with same span.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a CAD/CAM system for generation of designing and manufacturing information such as total drawing sub-assembly drawing, part drawing detail drawing part list and NC data for machining by CNC lathe were CUT machining center. Through this study the CAD/CAM system for deep drawing transfer die in mechanical press process has been developed The developed CAD system can generate the drawings of transfer die in mechanical press. Using these results from CAD system. it can generate NC data to machine die's elements on the CAD system. This system can reduce design man-hours and human errors. In order to construct the system it is used to automate the design process using knowledge base system. The developed system is based on the knowledge base system which is involved a lot of expert's empirical knowhow in the practice field. Using AutoLISp language under the Auto CAD system. CTK customer language of SmartCAM is used as the overall CAD/CAM environment. Results of this system will be provide effective aids to the designer and manufacturer in this field

  • This paper describes a research work of developing a computer-aided design of lead frame semicon-ductor with piercing operation which is very precise for progressive working. An approach to the sys-tem is based on to knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the system is formulated from plasticity theories experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. This system has been writ-ten using AutoLISP to AutoCAD on a personal computer and is composed of three main modules which are input and shape treatment production feasibility check and strip-layout module. Based on the knowledge-based rules the system is designed by considering several factors such as material and thickness of product complexities of blank geometry and punch profile, and availability of press. Also strip-layout drawing generated by piercing operation according to punch profiles considered V-notch dimple. pad chamfer spank cavity punch camber and cross bow of lead frame is displayed in graphic forms. This system can be used by a novice who may not have any knowledge of tool design and will invrease efficiencies to the designer in this field.

The system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with a personal computer and is composed of three main modules which are input and shape treatment flat pattern layout and strip layout module. Based on knowledge-based rules the system is design by considering several factors such as radius and angle of bend material and thickness of product complexities of blank geometry and punch profile bending sequence and availability of press. Strip layout drawing automatically generated by piercing with punch profiles divided into for external area is simulated in 3-D graphic forms including bending sequences for the product with piercing and bending. Results obtained using the modules enable the manufacture of electronic products to be more efficient in this field.

  • A forging product in general is made through buster blocker and finisher processes. The dies used in these processes are designed by experienced forging engineers. In the present study an expert system is developed for the finisher die design of axisymmetric hot steel forging. It is a rule based system written in Fortran and AutoLISp operating on a personal computer. In this paper major rules consid-ered in the system are summarized and the capabilities of the system are examined through several examples.

  • In hot forging the blocker is a transient shape between the buster and the finisher, In general as the finisher shape becomes complicated the blocker design becomes quite difficult. In the present study an expert system is developed for the blocker die design of axisymmetric hot steel forging. It is a rule based system written in Fortran and AutoLISP operating on a personal computer. In this paper the major rules considered in the system are summarized and several blockers designed by the system are discussed with results of rigid viscoplastic finite element analysis.

  • 본 연구에서는 산업 현장에서 일반적으로 가장 많이 사용되는 CAD 소프트웨어를 이용하여 모든 기계류에 공통적으로 쓰이는 기본적인 기계 요소들에 대한 자동 설계 시스템을 구축하려는데 목적을 둔다. 이는 단순히 제도 수준에만 머무르고 있는 현재의 CAD 시스템에 사용 조건에 맞는 기계요소에 대한 강도를 평가하여 적절한 기계 부품을 자동적으로 선정하고 도면으로 보여 주는 기능을 부여하여 생산성을 높이는데 그 의미가 있다. 또한 설계 과정의 자동화 가능성 여부에 대한 타당성을 검토하고자 한다. 연구방법으로는 C언어를 이용하여 각 기계 부품에 대한 설계(선정) 프로그램과 데이타 베이스 관리 프로그램을 작성하고, LISP언어를 이용하여 선정된 기계 부품을 자동적으로 그려 주는 방안을 제시한다. 개발에 사용된 CAD 소프트웨어는 PC에서 가장 많이 사용되는 AutoCAD를 사용한다.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop a computer program for making patterns for women's traditional Korean stockings, Beoson, Thus, the IBM 386 DX computer, the HP DROFT Pro Plotter, and Auto LISP language are used in this study. The procedures for the automated drafting can be summarized as follows : 1. A Beoson pattern was selected. 2. 39 co-ordinate points necessary for designing patterns of Beoson were established. 3. A program for drafting the pattern was developed ; refer to Table 1. 4. The Program was designed by inputting individual body measurements (foot length, foot circumferenceI, and foot circumfer-enceII) and angle(30 degrees). 5. Beoson patterns were made very correctly and quickly by using computers.
