A Study on the Development of Computer Aider Die Design System for Lead Frame of Semiconductor Chip

  • This paper decribes the development of computer-aided design of a very precise progressice die for lead frame of semiconductor chip. The approach to the system is based on knowledgr-based rules. Knowledge of fie이 experts. This system has been written in AutoLISP using AutoCAD ona personal computer and the I-DEAS drafting programming Language on the I-DEAS mater series drafting with on HP9000/715(64) workstation. Data exchange between AutoCAD and I-DEAS master series drafting is accomplished using DXF(drawing exchange format) and IGES(initial graphics exchange specification) files. This system is composed of six main modules, which are input and shape treatment, production feasibility check, strip layout, data conversion, die layout, and post processing modules. Based on Knowledge-based rules, the system considers several factors, such as V-notches, dimple, pad chamfer, spank, cavity punch, camber, coined area, cross bow, material and thickness of product, complexities of blank geometry and punch profiles, specifications of available presses, and the availability of standard parts. As forming processes and the die design system using 2D geometry recognition are integrated with the technology of process planning, die design, and CAE analysis, the standardization of die part for lead frames requiting a high precision process is possible. The die layout drawing generated by the die layout module s displayed in graphic form. The developed system makes it possible to design and manufacture lead frame of a semiconductor more efficiently.

  • This study provides a background on the growth of Indian automobile industry under different regulatory regimes. It is observed that the international joint ventures have played a key role in the growth of the sector. The study further examines the motives for forming IJVs in the auto component sector and also identifies the criteria for choosing the joint venture partner to mitigate conflicts. These two specific attributes form the core towards transfer of technology, promoting innovation and also act as a catalyst for adopting and choosing appropriate technology. The study brings out the relationship between motives, partner selection criteria and performance of the IJVs. Results indicate that firms gave maximum importance to technological skills, quality control measures and proprietary knowledge in selecting IJV partners. It is also observed that the motives affect the partner selection criteria in terms of skill and resources needed from the partner.

  • Recently, as researches and developments for milli-structure and micro machine are actively progressing, manufacturing technologies and skills for tiny small machine parts are getting more important. So, we have been trying to cut using high revolution air bearing spindle and micro-endmill, and studying for magnitude of cutting force, cutting force wave form and surface roughness. We figured out that in 60,000rpm is so slow that cutting is not perfact. Chatter occured to $2\mu{m}/rev\;at\;80,000rpm\;and\;4.4\mu{m}/rev$ at 100,000rpm. We confirmed that spindle run out increased surface roughness at high revolution.

  • In this paper the design method of a fuzzy logic controller with a genetic algorithm is proposed. Fuzzy logic controller is based on linguistic descriptions(in the form of fuzzy IF-THEN rules) from human experts. The auto-tuning method is presented to automatically improve the output performance of controller utilizing the genetic algorithm. The GA algorithm estimates automatically the optimal values of scaling factors and membership function parameters of fuzzy control rules. Controllers are applied to the processes with time-delay and the DC servo motor. Computer simulations are conducted at the step input and the output performances are evaluated in the ITAE.

Multidimensional Scaling of User Preferences for the Transportation Modes in Seoul. (다차원척도법에 의한 서울주민의 교통수단선호 분석)

  • This study examined user preferences toward transportation modes in Seoul. Two multidimensional scaling models, the ideal point and vector models, were applied to data on mode preferences of 114 adults in the metropolitan area. While both models produced fairly similar results, the vector model performed slightly better than the other in terms of interpretability of the results. The transport attributes elicited are comfort, flexibility, travel cost, travel time, privacy, and safety; among which comfort is salient most. The comfort variable is a multi-faceted attribute in nature. The variations of attribute preferences are most significant between the gender groups as well as worker/nonworker groups. In particular, male workers, female workers and female nonworkers form three distinctive market segments. An unidimensional scaling of the preference data reveals that subway, auto-driver, and subscription bus modes are preferred most, whereas motorcycle and bicycle least. The other modes of express bus, taxt, auto-passenger, bus and walk rank intermediately. An examination of how preference orders vary among modal groups hints that users align their stated attitudes to their choice in order to reduce cognitive dissonance.

  • We consider the irrational part of the basic pattern drafting of the Geo-Ko-ri so that we want to design it more scientically. So there are problems which is found after we considered with comparison about the existingly basic pattern drafting of Geo-go-ri. (1) there is a difference between the practical and Calculation. (2) The part of the curved line was mad indistinctly There is a difference betweence the calculating expression and calculating value. (4) There are some parts which lack objectivity about the reference size. (5) The calculating method of Collar-width and Neck-Nidth are not formative and rational. These are items that we must consider and study further. Especially if we can make up of the scientific form in consideration of the formativeness focused on "git" I think it will make a great contribution to not only the standardization of the basic pattern of Geo-go-ri and the use of the use of education but also the manufacture of individual clothing the production by Auto CAD.   • This paper deals with an automated computer-aided process planning system by which designer can determine operation sequences even if they have little experience in process planning of wheel bolt products by a multi-stage former. The approach to the system is based on knowledge-based rules and a process knowledge base consisting of design rules is built. Knowledge for the system is formulated from plasticity theories, empirical results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. Programs for the system have been written in AutoLISP for the AutoCAD using a personal computer and are composed of two main modules. An attempt is made to link programs incorporationg a number of expert design rules to form a useful package. Results obtained using the modules enable the designer and manufacturer of wheel bolt product to be more efficient in this field.

  • The static implicit finite element method is applied effectively to analyze back inner panel stamping processes, which include the forming stage Analysis results examining possibility and validity of the formulation and the factor of study are presented. Further, the simulated results for f/apron panel stamping processes are shown and discussed. Its application is being increased especially in the automotive industrial area for the cost reduction, weight saving, and improvement of strength.

  • This paper is to describe the development of nesting software for, the materials cutting plan of footware manufacturing processes. In shoes cutting process, almost of the materials cutting plan is dependent upon worker's experience. Thus the pattern nesting by worker's experience for materials cutting is different form the real cutting results and also different from the error size of yield in degree of worker's skill. Recently, a few of domestic shoes makers use of oversee's nesting software. But the nesting software unfits for the domestic actual circumstances, and is complex to use, and is expensive, and is not to be interfaced with the auto cutting machine. Therefore, we have developed the economic nesting systems that are easier for novice to use and fit for the domestic circumstances , which can syncronize with the development of the auto cutting machine. The system comprises interrelated modules for materials information, nesting simulation, utility . The architecture of system, the functions of each module and the information processing procedures of each function are discussed.
