Layout Based Multimodal Contents Aughoring Tool for Digilog Book (디지로그 북을 위한 레이아웃 기반 다감각 콘텐츠 저작 도구)

  • In this paper, we propose layout based multimodal contents authoring tool for Digilog Book. In authoring step, users create a virtual area using mouse or pen-type device and select property of the area repetitively. After finishing authoring step, system recognizes printed page number and generate page layout including areas and property information. Page layout is represented as a scene graph and stored as XML format. Digilog Book viewer loads stored page layout and analyze properties then augment virtual contents or execute functions based on area. Users can author visual and auditory contents easily by using hybrid interface. In AR environment, system provides area templates in order to help creating area. In addition, proposed authoring tool separates page recognition module from page tracking module. So, it is possible to author many pages using only single marker. As a result of experiment, we showed proposed authoring tool has reasonable performance time in AR environment. We expect that proposed authoring tool would be applicable to many fields such as education and publication.

  • The XMT standard is MPEG-4 Scene Description of textual format. It can be utilized to edit the audio/video media for broadcasting and develop the user oriented media contents. This paper proposes XMT authoring system that supports exchange among contents in various presentation environment. The XMT authoring system creates two levels of textual syntax and semantics: XMT-$\alpha$ format and XMT-$\Omega$ format. Because XMT-$\alpha$ and XMT-$\Omega$ have different expression method about an object, the authoring tool offers interface for them. the authoring tool offers interface for them. Also, it defines interior data structure that can support two file formats, and offers the function that transforms XMT-$\alpha$ into BIFS and transforms XMT-$\Omega$ into SMIL or XMT-$\alpha$. It offers interoperability among multimedia data in various environment that is XMT's characteristic.

  • This research is one the design and implementation of XSL document authoring system based on the XSL pattern to transform XML document. This system is developed not according to the rule of conventional CSS methods but according to the rule of XSL syntax for document processing language of SML structure. The XSL authoring system supports Korean character documents and is available of various kinds of pattern generations so that it is useful for generation of XSL document. This system is implemented for the environment of Window NT2000 in compatible IBM PC an develops by Visual J++6.0.

  • This study proposes a method to develop an authoring system(GeoMaTree) for diverse trees that constitute a virtual landscape. The GeoMaTree system enables the simple, intuitive production of an efficient structure, and supports real-time processing. The core of the proposed system is a procedural modeling based on a mathematical model and an application that supports digital content creation on diverse platforms. The procedural modeling allows users to control the complex pattern of branch propagation through an intuitive process. The application is a multi-resolution 3D model that supports appropriate optimization for a tree structure. The application and a compatible function, with commercial tools for supporting the creation of realistic synthetic images and virtual landscapes, are implemented, and the proposed system is applied to a variety of 3D image content.

Multimedia Information and Authoring for Personalized Media Networks

  • Personalized media includes user-targeted and user-generated content (UGC) exchanged through social media and interactive applications. The increased consumption of UGC presents challenges and opportunities to multimedia information systems. We work towards modeling a deep structure for content networks. To gain insights, a hybrid practice with Media Framework (MF) is presented for network creation of personalized media, which leverages the authoring methodology with user-generated semantics. The system's vertical integration allows users to audition their personalized media networks in the context of a global system network. A navigation scheme with dynamic GUI shifts the interaction paradigm for content query and sharing. MF adopts a multimodal architecture anticipating emerging use cases and genres. To model diversification of platforms, information processing is robust across multiple technology configurations. Physical and virtual networks are integrated with distributed services and transactions, IoT, and semantic networks representing media content. MF applies spatiotemporal and semantic signal processing to differentiate action responsiveness and information responsiveness. The extension of multimedia information processing into authoring enables generating interactive and impermanent media on computationally enabled devices. The outcome of this integrated approach with presented methodologies demonstrates a paradigmatic shift of the concept of UGC as personalized media network, which is dynamical and evolvable.

  • The desire of achieving abundant and various information in Web-sites through portable devices is increased as the mobile communication technology is matured. WML(Wireless Markup Language) is the fundamental language to fill up the those desires. The number of commercial WML sites which can be accessed by PCS(Personal Communication System) over the Internet are growing rapidly worldwide. In this paper, a WML authoring tool which can author easily the homepage suitable for PCS is designed and implemented. The usability of the proposed WML authoring tool was confirmed by using UP.SDK simulator over the Internet.

  • In this paper, we implement the multimedia dynamic authoring system based on causality model. we define two specifications which support user to specify intuitively and naturally what he/she wants, The temporal specification describes causal-based temporal relationships between presentation objects, and the spatial specification describes relative layout structure among objects on the screen. Using the specifications, the system processes for multimedia documentation are one-dimensional string list, relational trees, such as temporal. spatial, and annotated composition tree generation phases.

  • MPEG 4 Part 20 LASeR (ISO/IEC 14496 20) is a specification designed to deliver rich media services in a mobile environment. The specification is an emerging standard that can replace the MPEG 4 BIFS specification designed to deliver PC based heavyweight media contents. The specification describes the representation of scene information in a resource constrained mobile environment. Unlike the BIFS standard designed to deliver heavyweight rich media, the LASeR specification has a restricted description that conforms to the SVG Tiny 1.2 specification. Also, the specification has an advantage of allowing for the efficient conversion of one graphics format to another. In this paper, we present the design and the implementation of a LASeR authoring system that allows for fast and efficient creation of interactive rich media contents in a mobile environment. The Gill interface of the authoring system presented in this paper allows users, who do not have prior knowledge of the scene description language, to conveniently create contents and store the produced scenes using the internal list data structure. The system allows users to navigate scene objects internally stored and to create LASeR XML files in the structured XML format.

  • For temporal relations of interactive media such as MPEG-4, it is necessary for a temporal model that can update dynamically presentation time and temporal relations among objects by user events occurring during playback. Also, 811hough the temporal attributes are changed by user events, the validity of scene must be maintained. In this paper, we propose a temporal model that supports user interaction and developed an MPES-4 contents authoring system applying this model. We define the temporal relations of MPEG-4 that tan be authored and user interactions that can change the temporal properties. This authoring system defines the constraints on temporal relations and events and can generate the scene without error by checking the constraints. Also it provides the authoring environment to author visual]y temporal relations and events in MPEG-4 scene and generates the MPEG-4 stream by encoding the authored scene.

  • It is difficult to merge text document and to remake use of documents on the most collaborative document authoring system using text document, and also to provide the storage place for saving and keeping documents. It has vulnerable drawbacks about the security though it provides the accessible abilities due to basing it on Web. In this paper, we design and implementation the collaborative document authoring system for XML document to improve a couple of problems on these systems. For these, we based on the DOM to manipulate the modeling object documents and utilized RMI on this system without considering socket communication when it transmits and receives Java objects. We improved the security through processes of authentication. By providing templates and editing functions such as annotation, visualization of document structures, we made easier making collaborative document authoring more than ever.
