Dielectric Band-Pass Filter with Attenuation Poles at Desired Frequencies

  • An analytic design formula is proposed for a TEM mode dielectric bandpass filter with attenuation poles at desired frequencies in the stop band. In order to sustain the constant ripple in the passband due to attenuation poles, the initial resonant frequencies of the various resonators adopted in a filter with attenuation poles are newly calculated. The proposed design theory is verified by designing various bandpass filters with attenuation poles in the stop band.

  • 본 논문에서 변형된 generalized Chebyshev 유리함수가 제시되었다. 이 함수를 이용한 회로망 합성으로 새로운 원형 저역 통과 필터의 소자값이 구해졌다. 이 제안된 필터는 기존의 generalized Chebyshev 필터와 마찬가지로 통과 대역에서 등리플을 갖지만 유한 주파수에서 오직 하나의 감쇠극을 갖는 기존의 필터와는 달리, 제안된 필터는 저지 대역에서 서로 다른 두 개의 감쇠극을 갖는다. 만약 고조파가 두 번째 감쇠극 주파수에 맞춰진다면, 고조파를 효과적으로 억제할 수 있다. 게다가, 두 번째 감쇠극의 위치는 임의로 조정될 수 있기 때문에 제안한 필터는 넓은 저지 대역 구현에 특히 유용하다.

  • In this paper a novel dielectric resonator (DR) bandpass filter (BPF) with flexible arrangement of attenuation poles is proposed. This DR filter is similar to a conventional DR filter except adding a microstrip line below a DR, which not only shifts the location of attenuation poles, but also improves skirt characteristics. The duplexer with the proposed DR BPF has been yielded better isolation and sharper skirt behavior than that with a conventional DR alter. The implemented duplexer has shown a good performance and been well agreed with the simulation.

차세대 이동통신 단말기에 이용되는 적층 칩 필터 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of Multilayer Chip Filter for Next Generation Mobile Communication Phone)

  • It this paper the multilayer chip band pass filter for next generation mobile communication phone is fabricated and designed. For the design the multilayer chip filter of non-contented equivalent circuit and contented equivalent circuit with attenuation pole is presented. Finally it is fabricated and designed using the multilayer chip filter of contented equivalent circuit with attenuation pole. The size insertion loss center frequency and band width of multilayer chip filter are 4.5$\times$3.2$\times$2.0[mm], 3.0[d.B] and 1945$\pm$25 MHz respectively. The multilayer chip filter was fabricated by screen printing with Ag electrode after tape casting. Simulation results of multilayer chip filter are compared with experimental results and found to be in excellent agreements.

Semi-Lumped Compact Low-Pass Filter for Harmonics Suppression

  • In this paper, a new semi-lumped low-pass filter with three finite attenuation poles at stopband is presented. The new structure is composed of a pair of symmetrical parallel coupled-line and a shunted capacitor. With this configuration, three finite attenuation poles can be available for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th harmonics suppression. The research method is based on transmission-line model for tuning the attenuation poles. In order to examine the feasibility of the proposed structure, a low-pass filter based on microstrip structure with harmonics suppression is designed, fabricated, and measured. The experimental results of the fabricated circuit agree well with the simulation and analytical ones.

  • A proposed multi-layer ceramic (MLC) chip type band-pass filter (BPF) is presented. The MLC chip BPF has the benefits of low cost and small size. The BPF consists of coulped stripline resonators and coupling capacitors. The BPF is designed to have an attenuation pole at below the passband for a receiver band of IMT-2000 handset. The computer-aided design technology is applied for analysis of the BPF frequency characteristics. The passband and attenuation pole depend the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. The frequency characterics of the passband and attenuation pole are analysed with the variance of the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. An equivalent circuit and structure of MLC chip BPF are proposed. The frequency characteristics of the BPF is well acceptable for IMT-2000 application.

반사파가 있는 관내의 능동 소음제어 (Active Noise Control in a Duct With Reflected Wave)

  • This study is to describe the effects of the duct termination conditions conditions upon the active noise attenuation system. The adaptive filtering algorithm using FIR filter is implemented for duct noise attenuation. To avoid the instability caused by the acoustic feedback, two methods are considered. One is to use a compensating FIR filter. The other is to utilize uni-directional detecting microphone and uni-directional control speaker. Experimental results show that the reflections of sound from duct terminations greatly reduce the performance of ANC system. The directionality of detecting microphone and control speaker is a major factor to decide ANC performance. When there are some reflections from both duct terminations, the noise attenuation using finite FIR filter is not enough to model the duct plant. Especially, the reflection from the upstream termination reduces the noise attenuation in the frequencies related to the distance between control speaker and upstream termination. The performance of the noise attenuation is found to be largely enhanced by using uni-directional coupler, both on detecting microphone and control speaker, even if the duct system has an arbitrary termination conditions.

  • This paper has been proposed an audio DAC structure composed of FIRs and IIR filters as digital interpolation filter to integrate the off-chip analog low-pass filter on-a-chip. The passband ripple(< 0.41${\times}$fs), passband attenuation(at 0.41${\times}$fs) and stopband attenuation(> 0.59${\times}$fs) of the Δ$\Sigma$ modulator output using the proposed digital interpolation filter had ${\pm}$ 0.001 [㏈], -0.0025[㏈] and -75[㏈], respectively. Also the inband group delay was 30.07/fs[s] and the error of group delay was 0.1672%. Also, the attenuation of stopband has been increased -20[㏈] approximately at 65[㎑], out-of-band. Therefore the RC products of analog low-pass filter on chip have been decreased compared with the conventional digital interpolation filter structure.

감쇄극 인버터를 이용한 반파장 Partial H-Plane 여파기 (Half Wavelength Partial H-Plane Filter with Inverters having Attenuation Poles)

  • 본 논문에서는 차단 영역 도파로로 구현된 협소한 형태의 H-plane slot을 이용하여 다수의 감쇄극을 가지는 반파장 partial H-plane filter를 제안하였다. 협소한 형태의 H-plane slot은 대역 통과 필터의 어드미턴스 인버터 역할을 하는 동시에 특정 주파수에서 공진을 발생시킨다. 따라서 제안된 필터는 어떠한 부가적인 coupling이나 추가적인 구조의 변형 없이 저지 대역에서 감쇄극을 가지는 간단한 구조로 구현되고, 감쇄극 수는 인가되는 slot의 수만큼 발생된다. 제안된 필터는 일반적인 도파로의 1/4의 단면적을 가지는 partial H-plane waveguide로 설계되므로 소형화에 유리하다 저지 대역에서 각각 4개와 5개의 감쇄극을 갖는 3단과 4단 반파장 대역 통과 필터를 H-band에서 설계하여, 이론적 주파수 응답 특성이 실험적 응답 특성과 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.
