In this paper, we propose an ensemble model facilitated by multi-channel palm images with attention U-Net models and pretrained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for establishing a contactless palm-based user identification system using conventional inexpensive camera sensors. Attention U-Net models are used to extract the areas of interest including hands (i.e., with fingers), palms (i.e., without fingers) and palm lines, which are combined to generate three channels being ped into the ensemble classifier. Then, the proposed palm information-based user identification system predicts the class using the classifier ensemble with three outperforming pre-trained CNN models. The proposed model demonstrates that the proposed model could achieve the classification accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score of 98.60%, 98.61%, 98.61%, 98.61% respectively, which indicate that the proposed model is effective even though we are using very cheap and inexpensive image sensors. We believe that in this COVID-19 pandemic circumstances, the proposed palm-based contactless user identification system can be an alternative, with high safety and reliability, compared with currently overwhelming contact-based systems.

In recent decades, human action recognition (HAR) has demonstrated potential applications in sports analysis, human-robot interaction, and large-scale signage content. In this paper, spatial temporal attention graph convolutional network (STAGCN)-based HAR system is proposed. Spatioal-temmporal features of skeleton sequences are assigned different weights by STAGCN, enabling the consideration of key joints and viewpoints. From simulation results, it has been shown that the performance of the proposed model can be improved in terms of classification accuracy in the NTU RGB+D dataset.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of attention, intellectual functioning and adaptation of girls with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methods : The scores of the ADHD Diagnostic System (ADS), the Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III (K-WISC-III) and the Korean Personality Inventory for Children (KPI-C) were compared between 26 girls with ADHD and 26 boys with ADHD. Results : 1) There was no significant gender difference in the intellectual functioning, except for the picture completion subscale. 2) Compared to the boys, the girls responded more slowly on the ADS visual task. 3) The girls were rated higher by their parents for the depression and social relationship problems of the KPI-C. Conclusion : The results suggest that there are noticeable gender differences for the attention problems and social functioning of children with ADHD.
In the near future, traditional narrow and fixed viewpoint video services will be replaced by high-quality panorama video services. This paper proposes a visual-attention-aware progressive region of interest (RoI) trick mode streaming service (VA-PRTS) that prioritizes video data to transmit according to the visual attention and transmits prioritized video data progressively. VA-PRTS enables the receiver to speed up the time to display without degrading the perceptual quality. For the proposed VA-PRTS, this paper defines a cutoff visual attention metric algorithm to determine the quality of the encoded video slice based on the capability of visual attention and the progressive streaming method based on the priority of RoI video data. Compared to conventional methods, VA-PRTS increases the bitrate saving by over 57% and decreases the interactive delay by over 66%, while maintaining a level of perceptual video quality. The experiment results show that the proposed VA-PRTS improves the quality of the viewer experience for interactive panoramic video streaming services. The development results show that the VA-PRTS has highly practical real-field feasibility.
This study analyzed of the themes (wounding and healing); concerning the Sandplay therapy process applied to children with emotional instability and attention deficit problems. The subjects of the study were 30 elementary school children who agreed to a personal-interview with the author. They all were families of receiving basic livelihood welfare living in the same county. After the preliminary analysis, the main study data collected from subjects was analyzed by variance (t-test), frequency analysis, and correlation analysis using the standard table modified in accordance with Mitchell's classification system. Particular attention was made in the analyses of the characteristics of the subjects as members of low-income families. As the Sandplay therapy proceeded, it became evident that the wounding area showed a low frequency while the healing area featured a high frequency, and confirmed (as in previous studies) that the Sandplay therapy would be effective for children with emotional instability as well as for those with attention deficit problems. The analysis of difference between the types of children with both problems revealed that Sandplay therapy was more effective for children with emotional instability than for those with attention deficit problems. The analysis also revealed that Sandplay therapy was more effective for girls than for boys.

The purpose of this study analyzes the basic elements of film acting based on Stanislavsky Circles of Attention. This research also demonstrates the basic elements on how to become a good film actor. I attempt to interpret Stanislavsky Circles of Attention, in order to adapt the size of camera shots and the location of microphones. This Circles of Attention is an effective method utilized for actors to help them understand and be absorbed in the work of art both in film and stage. It is useful for building a character in realism drama as well as in film. I believe Stanislavsky Circles of Attention is certainly the most advanced acting style in film because it proposes the importance of physical action for actors.
Purpose: This study investigated the influence of attention-demanding tasks on gait and measured differences in the temporal, spatial and kinematic characteristics between young healthy adults and elderly healthy adults. Methods: We recruited 16 healthy young adults and 15 healthy elderly adults in this study. All participants performed two cognitive tasks: a subtraction dual-task (SDT) and working memory dual-task (WMDT) during gait plus one normal gait. Using the LEGSys+ system, knee and hip-joint kinematic data during stance and swing phase and spatiotemporal parameter data were assessed in this study. Results: In the elderly adult group, attention-demanding tasks with gait showed a significant decrease in hip-joint motion during the stance phase, compared to the normal gait. Step length, stride length and stride velocity of the elderly adult group were significantly decreased in WMDT gait compared to normal gait (p<0.05). In the young adult group, kinematic data did not show any significant difference. However, stride velocity and cadence during SDT and WMDT gaits were significantly decreased compared to those of normal gait (p<0.05). Conclusion: We determined that attention-demanding tasks during gait in elderly adults can induce decreased hip-joint motion during stance phase and decreased gait speed and stride length to maintain balance and prevent risk of falling. We believe that understanding the changes during gait in older ages, particularly during attention-demanding tasks, would be helpful for intervention strategies and improved risk assessment.

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of rosemary oil inhalation on memory, attention and autonomic nervous system according to the concentration difference in the aged. The research design was non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Participants were 89 individuals aged 65 or older who live in the community. Participants inhaled almond carrier oil(control group), 10%(experimental group A) and 100%(experimental group B) rosemary oil. Memory, attention, and autonomic nervous system responses were measured. This study is aimed to find out whether there is difference in the physiological change of a human body according to the illumination and color of interior space or not and to specify the effect of the condition of illumination and color, respectively on the attention. In order to do so, White and Green were selected for colors and 4,000k, 5,000k, and 6000k were done for color temperature, and then attention was identified. Examining the results, the more color temperature increased, the more attention improved (P < 0.05), and in the case of EEG, ${\alpha}$ wave decreased while performing the task of attention (P < 0.01), and ${\beta}$ wave decreased more in Green than White in color condition, and it increased more in 4,000k than 5,000k and 6,000k (p < 0.05) in color temperature condition. To sum up, color condition didn't contribute to the attention much, in the case of color temperature, when it is 6,000k, it is judged that it helped to improve attention. It is considered that relaxation contributed to improving attention, as ${\beta}$ wave and sympathetic nerve decreased in 6,000k (p < 0.05). It is judged that the relaxation of tensions which happened due to a beta wave and the reduction of sympathetic nervous system activity in 6,000k, a condition of high color temperature, contributed to the improvement of concentration. In further researches, it is intended that a test will be conducted for the subjects of different ages, and the correlation between color temperature and color stimulation and the influence of them on human body would be observed in subdivided, various test conditions through various color temperature and color stimulation.
