When a small absorbing particle is exposed to a strong thermal radiation incidence, it moves towards or away from the radiation source due to the nonuniform internal absorption of the radiation. It is called the photophoretic phenomena and governed by the asymmetry factor. An asymmetry factor for the total wavelength range is calculated to estimate the photophoretic phenomena of a particle in a combustor or in the atmosphere and compared to that for a single wavelength. The samples are soot particulates, water droplets, ice particles, silicon particles, $SiO_2$ particles, aluminium oxide particles, whose spectral complex refractive index are available. Although differences between total and monochromatic asymmertry factors are not much for relatively uniform distribution of the spectral refractive index, they are great in general. Therefore the use of the monochromatic factor will considerably deteriorate the accuracy of the calculation of the photophoresis.

Asymmetry of rotor systems is an important factor for identification of dynamic characteristics including the stability and response of rotors and for condition monitoring. In this work, asymmetry of rotors is identified by applying curve-fitting method to the directional frequency response functions (dFRFs), which are known as a powerful tool for detecting the presence and degree of asymmetry. This method minimizes least square error between analytical and measured dFRFs by iteratively updating physical parameters associated with rotor asymmetry. The effectiveness of the identification method is demonstrated by experiments with a laboratory test rotor.
Purpose - The main purpose of the current study is to examine the impact of accounting information quality and information asymmetry on the underinvestment phenomenon among the listed companies on the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE). Research design, data, and methodology - The population includes 94 firms selected through systematic sampling. The data is collected from the audited financial statements of the firms provided by TSE's website from 2010 to 2015. Accounting information quality and information asymmetry is considered as independent variables, and their impact is examined on the dependent variable (underinvestment). Results - The statistical results, based on data collected from 94 listed companies on the TSE during 2010-2015, revealed positive impact of accounting information quality and positive impact of information asymmetry on underinvestment. There was a significant relationship between accrual quality (AQ) and underinvestment, and spread and underinvestment. The results also showed that information asymmetry is the main factor in the creation underinvestment. Conclusions - Findings of this article can assist accounting researchers and theoreticians in comparing Real world facts with hypotheses developed with respect to accounting information quality, information asymmetry and underinvestment. However, the results of fuzzy regression analysis indicate significant relationships between the independent variable except underinvestment.
The analyses of peak shapes in chromatography are useful in operating chromatographic system. The asymmetry and sharpness of a chromatographic peak are estimated by the reversed-phase adsorption of two standard peptides (angiotensin II bradykinin) on $C_{18}$ In this work, the average particle diameters of $C_{18}$ were 5 and 15 $\mu$m, while the pore sizes were 100 and 300 A. The composition of the mobile phase was $50/50\;vol.\;{\%}$ of a binary mixture of acetonitrile and water with $0.1\%$ TFA, and the particles were packed in a stainless column ($4.6{\times}150$ mm). The third and the fourth central movement were calculated from the chromatographic elution curves by moment analysis. The peak asymmetry was determined by two theoretical calculations: the asymmetry factor by elution peak analysis and skewness with moment analysis. The sharpness was estimated by the fourth central moment. In this work, the most acceptable skewness was calculated when the pore size was 300 A. The large excess was observed on small pore size.
The common features of walking in patients with stroke include decreased gait velocity and increased asymmetrical gait pattern. The purpose of this study was to identify important factors related to impairments in gait velocity and asymmetry in chronic stroke patients. The subjects were 30 independently ambulating subjects with chronic stroke. The subjects' impairments were examined, including the isokinetic peak torque of knee extensors, knee flexors, ankle plantarflexors, and ankle dorsiflexors. Passive and active ranges of motion (ROM) of the ankle joint, ankle plantarflexor spasticity, joint position senses of the knee and ankle joint, and balance were examined together. In addition, gait velocity and temporal and spatial asymmetry were evaluated with subjects walking at their comfortable speed. Pearson correlations and multiple regressions were used to measure the relationships between impairments and gait speed and impairments and asymmetry. Regression analyses revealed that ankle passive ROM and peak torque of knee flexors were important factors for gait velocity ($R^2=.41$), while ankle passive ROM was the most important determinant for temporal asymmetry ($R^2=.35$). In addition, knee extensor peak torque was the most significant factor for gait spatial asymmetry ($R^2=.17$). Limitation in ankle passive ROM and weakness of the knee flexor were major contributors to slow gait velocity. Moreover, limited passive ROM in the ankle influenced the level of temporal gait asymmetry in chronic stroke patients. Our findings suggest that stroke rehabilitation programs aiming to improve gait velocity and temporal asymmetry should include stretching exercise for the ankle joint.

In orthognathic surgery, precise analysis and diagnosis are essential for successful results. In facial asymmetric patient, traditional 2D image analysis has been used by lateral and P-A Cephalometric view, Skull PA, Panorama, Submentovertex view etc. But clinicians sometimes misdiagnose because they cannot find exact landmark due to superimposition, moreover image can be magnified and distorted by projection technique or patient's skull position, when using these analysis and method. For overcome these defects, analysis by using of 3D CT has been introduced. In this way we can analysis precisely by getting the exact image free of artifact and finding exact landmark with no interruption of superimposition. So we want to review of relationship between various skeletal landmarks of mandible or cranial base and facial asymmetry by predictable analysis using 3D CT. We select the cases of the patients who visited our department for correction of facial asymmetry during 2003-2007 and who were taken image of 3D CT for diagnosis. 3D CT images were reconstructed to 3D image by using V-Work program (Cybermed Inc., Seoul, Korea). And we analysis the relationship between facial asymmetry and various affecting factor of skeletal pattern. The mandibular ramus hight difference between right and left was most affecting factor that express facial asymmetry. And in this research, there was no relationship between cranial base and facial asymmetry. The angulation between facial midline and mandibular ramus divergency has significant relationship with facial asymmetry

When we establish treatment planning of facial asymmetry, we must predict each asymmetrical element that will be changed upon coronal, axial, sagittal plane. At the visual point, prediction of the change of coronal plane is most important. It is important difference between Rt. and Lt. mandibular angle belonging to posterior coronal plane, as well as anterior coronal plane, such as upper and lower incisor, or midline of chin point. Several methods for control bulk of mandibular angle are additional angle shaving after osteotomy, grinding contact area between proximal and distal segment for decrease the volume, or bone graft for increase the volume. But, at the point of bimaxillary surgery, transverse position of posterior maxilla is an important factor for control it. So, we would report transverse movement of posterior maxilla for decrease asymmetry on the posterior coronal plane of face, that is, asymmetry of mandibular angular portion.

We report on the analytical results of examination of fully developed asymmetric flow and heat transfer between parallel plane plates. The asymmetry was introduced by roughening one of the plane while the other was left smooth. The integral method together with a turbulence model based on modified Prandtl's mixing length theory for the rough was used to determine the velocity distribution and friction. The temperature distrtibution is then predicted and heat transfer coefficients are calculated. The present paper shows that the heat transfer increases more than the friction factor for a given roughness structure. Generally the results show the strong effect of asymmetry on engineering parameters. Furthermore it is the roughness structure which influences the nature of asymmetry and heat transfer.
Purpose: To statistically evaluate the contributing role of the 3 radiographic factors (Obliquity, Asymmetry, Joint deviation) of the hallux valgus interphalangeus with comparison to the normal control group. Materials and Methods: The study is based on the standing foot AP radiographs of the 77 feet (56 patients) of the hallux valgus interphalangeus out of 119 feet of randomly sampled patients of the age range 20 to 60. Fractures or other foot disorders have been excluded. Obliquity, asymmetry and joint deviation factors formed by proximal and distal phalanges of hallux are measured by one observer and evaluated the statistical significance of the contribution of the 3 factors to the hallux interphalangeal angle (HIA). Results: The average age of the patients were 36.0 years old and average HIA was $14.5^{\circ}{\pm}2.8^{\circ}$. Obliquity was measured $4.8^{\circ}{\pm}2.90^{\circ}$, asymmetry $8.2^{\circ}{\pm}3.28^{\circ}$ and joint deviation $2.0^{\circ}{\pm}1.85^{\circ}$. All 3 factors showed the statistical significance as the contributing factors to the HIA and among them, the asymmetry played the biggest role (p<0.05). Conclusion: Hallux interphalangeal angle is formed by 3 radiographic factors (Obliquity, Asymmetry, Joint deviation), and among them the asymmetry factor plays the biggest role.
Purpose: This study examines the opportunism moderating effect by the startup experience in the relationship between franchisor and franchisees. In the case of a franchise system that has a continuous relational exchange transaction, relationship management is a very important activity because the relationship management between franchisor and franchisees improves the quality of the relationship. Nevertheless, there is insufficient of research on opportunism, which is a negative factor in managing the relationship between franchisor and franchisees in continuous relationship. Research design, data and methodology: This study, we explore the cause of opportunism based on transaction cost theory through prior research and establish a research model based by goal incongruity, uncertainty, information asymmetry, transaction specific assets, the relevance to determinant of opportunism and the startup experienced which is a moderating variable. To verify several hypotheses, the data were collected from 300 out of 1,760 domestic franchisees and analyzed using multiple regression analysis with SPSS program. Results: The findings are as follows. Goal incongruity did not affect opportunism. Opportunism increased as uncertainty increased, and as information asymmetry increased, opportunism increased. An opportunism decreased as transaction specific assets increased. Moreover, the findings show that startup experience only plays a moderating role in the relationship between information asymmetry and opportunism. Therefore, 4 out of 8 hypotheses were supported. Conclusions: The findings show that uncertainty, information asymmetry, and transaction specific assets are the determinants of opportunism. In addition, the results of the analysis of the moderating role of startup experience show that the less entrepreneurial experience, the greater the influence of information asymmetry on opportunism. Our findings mean that maintaining a successful relationship between franchisors and franchisees is possible when franchisors provide knowledge sharing, goal sharing, environmental sharing, and management information sharing to franchisees. In addition, the findings of this study shows that the contract content and management should be changed according to the entrepreneurial experience. In other words, the franchisors must share and integrate the accumulated franchisees' and franchisors' experience with the franchisees to create a synergy that can lead to successful bilateral relationship maintenance, which in turn reduces opportunism.
