  • This paper is to investigate the efficacy of cyber education by self-assessment strategy. Self-assessment strategy contains self-monitoring function and self-control function. 202 students of online university attended and analyzed with frequency, correlation, t-test, Paired t-test. The major findings were as follows. The learners who experienced self-assessment in the initial stage of class had higher changes in social distance to the mentally disabled people positively than the learners who didn't experienced that. This self-assessment strategy can be assumed that it is effective strategy to improve e-learning efficacy and it will contribute to self-directed education for enhancement of on-line education.

  • A three-dimensional thermal-hydraulic code, CUPID, has been developed for the analysis of transient two-phase flows at component scale. The CUPID code adopts a two-fluid three-field model for two-phase flows. A semi-implicit two-step numerical method was developed to obtain numerical solutions on unstructured grids. This paper presents an overview of the CUPID code development and assessment strategy. The governing equations, physical models, numerical methods and their improvements, and the systematic verification and validation processes are discussed. The code couplings with a system code, MARS, and, a three-dimensional reactor kinetics code, MASTER, are also presented.

  • The conventional methods for noise control attempts to simply reduce the level of product noise. This has been common practice in noise control industry. However, it is very straightforward common sense that we have consider human perception on noise. In this paper, we propose a noise control strategy which takes into account the subjective perception of product noise. We especially has concentrated on a refrigerator noise. The proposed method is composed of 3 steps. Firstly, the actual refrigerator noise signal is measured. Then, to make the sample noise set for subjective assessment the noise signal is edited in 1/3 octave bands. Finally, we establish a strategy of refrigerator noise control by using the results from subjective assessment of these noise signals

  • A thermal-hydraulic code, named CUPID, has been being developed for the realistic analysis of transient two-phase flows in nuclear reactor components. The CUPID code development was motivated from very practical needs, including the analyses of a downcomer boiling, a two-phase flow mixing in a pool, and a two-phase flow in a direct vessel injection system. The CUPID code adopts a two-fluid, three-field model for two-phase flows, and the governing equations are solved over unstructured grids with a semi-implicit two-step method. This paper presents an overview of the CUPID code development and assessment strategy. It also presents the code couplings with a system code, MARS, and, a three-dimensional reactor kinetics code, MASTER.

  • Recently, the assessment of a bank efficiency focusing on its branches has been conceived as important in developing a competitive strategy. DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model can be employed as an effective analysis model for such an assessment. Therefore, this paper proposes an analysis process using DEA model to conduct an efficiency assessment of bank branches. The proposed process includes a segmentation of branches considering their competitive environment and strategy for target market : this approach can help to develop effective strategies for each group of branches. The proposed DEA model can analyze efficiency in terms of not only cost but also marketing. Finally, a real case is analyzed, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed model and process.

  • In this study, the effects of a teaching strategy based on interactive formative assessment on students' science concept understandings and science-related attitudes were investigated. Students' perceptions toward this teaching strategy were also examined. Eight classes chosen from a co-ed middle school in Seoul. Four classes were assigned to the experimental group and the other four classes were assigned to the control group. After the instructions, tests regarding students' conceptions and science-related attitudes were administered. We also interviewed 24 students randomly chosen from the experimental group to investigate their perceptions toward the teaching strategy used. The results showed that the teaching strategy used was more effective for enhancing students' science concept understandings. However, there was no significant difference in science-related attitudes between the two groups. For the experimental group, no significant differences were found in the gain scores of the conceptions tests between the subgroups by previous achievement or cognitive levels. From interviews, it was found that students thought that the teaching strategy used encouraged much interactions and motivated them to think, and that teacher's appropriate feedbacks were helpful to their understanding scientific concepts.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and demonstrate a framework for evaluating the maturity of big data for effective data strategy establishment and efficient investment of companies. By supplementing the shortcomings of the evaluation developed so far, a framework was developed to evaluate the maturity of a company's big data in an integrated process. As a result, four evaluation areas of 'Vision and Strategy', 'Management', 'Analysis' and 'Utilization', assessment items for each area, detailed content, and criteria for each stage were derived. This was verified through a survey of entrepreneurs, and the maturity level of big data of domestic companies was confirmed. As a future research direction, it is proposed to develop detailed assessment factors according to the characteristics of each industry, to develop a data utilization framework according to the assessment results, and to improve validity and reliability through adjustment of verification targets.
