The type of moxibustion, the material beneath moxbustion, main outcome and the amount of information were reviewed. The amount of information was defined as 1 for one main outcome reported in each article. Results : Direct moxibustion were used in 15 articles and indirect moxibustion were used in 19 articles. 11 researches used anti-heating plate for the material beneath moxibustion, one article used steel ring, agar with anti-heating plate, six articles used skin and another six articles used heater. Two articles used animals and another two articles used metals. The mean value of the amount of information was $4.41{\pm}2.94$(SD). Conclusions : Research articles assessing properties of moxibustion have been consistently published since 1993, and employed various methodologies. The amount of information has been associated with four section analysis and is currently decreasing. Research assessing properties of moxibustion with clinical effectiveness is needed.
The purpose of this study was to examine UK students' use of multimodal representations in science. Students were asked to explain their understandings of the scientific concept and presentation of the multimodal representations in a science Assessing Pupils' Progress (APP) task. Participants of this study were fifty-four Year 7 students taught by the same teacher. Students from one class (27 students) were assigned to the experimental group, and then they received instruction encouraging the using of multimodal representations as evidences to support students' claims. One class (27 students) was assigned to the control group and they received instruction with traditional teaching methods. Both groups performed an APP task for assessment. The samples of APP assessments produced by students both from the experimental and control groups were analyzed using an analysis framework of multimodal representations, embeddedness in evidence and understanding of scientific concepts. Data analysis indicated that the students in the experimental group performed better than that of the control group on embeddedness of multimodal representations in the APP task. In addition, there was a significant difference between the two groups in the evaluation of understand of the scientific concepts.

Compared to the U.S. Government Accountability Office(GAO) and the U.K. National Audit Office(NAO), the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea(BAI) has not laid a rather solid system for effective assessment and judgment on the reliability of computer-processed data used as audit evidence in its public auditing activities. Accordingly, based on the experiences of GAO and NAO, this study suggests criteria and methods as the key elements of the methodological framework for assessing the reliability of information system data. Then, the usefulness and effectiveness of the criteria and techniques for assessing data reliability were tested and proved by applying to the analysis of allotment for mandatory disabled employment data that have been computer-processed and managed by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled(KEAD).
Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of satellite image is an important performance index in satellite image applications. Therefore MTF performance is assessed using satellite image for the ground target during LEOP phase after launch. But the MTF performance assessment using the ground target can be affected by imaging conditions such as cloud and weather. In this paper system requirements and satellite operation for assessing MTF performance of satellite image using stellar sources are proposed. Satellite capability in collecting stellar sources using the satellite which is designed for earth observation and satellite image usefulness for assessing MTF performances were analyzed. The proposed approach will be useful to assess MTF performance of earth observation satellite in lower earth orbit.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to survey the current status of use of questionnaires for evaluating Yin Deficiency Syndrome and analyze the comparison with questionnaires. Methods We searched online medical databases to find domestic/international articles using questionnaires for evaluating intensity of Yin Deficiency Syndrome. Finally 18 articles were collected to be reviewed and they were classified according to their subjects and type of the Questionnaires. Results Out of 18 articles, 11 were based on the Yin-Deficiency Questionnaire (Yin-DQ) and the others used various questionnaires, except the Yin-DQ, for assessing Yin Deficiency Syndrome. In Korea the Yin-DQ was used widely but in foreign countries, for instance, China, Taiwan, a variety of questionnaires were used. Conclusion The Yin-DQ had a wider use in assessing Yin Deficiency Syndrome, but cut-off score for diagnostic criteria was not defined. Therefore, we decided that the YDS (Yin Deficiency Scale) with cut-off score was more suitable for screening patients with Yin Deficiency Syndrome. Moreover, we suggested that additional studies on using the YDS and developing more appropriate diagnostic tool should be conducted to improve diagnostic objectivity.

Most of the statistical signal analysis processed in the time domain and the frequency domain are based on the assumption that the signal is weakly stationary(wide sense stationary). Therefore, it is necessary to know whether the surface EMG signals processed in the statistical basis satisfy the condition of the weak stationarity. The purpose of this study is to find optimal segment length of surface EMG signal for assessing stationarity with the modified Run-test and RA-test. Ten stationary surface EMG signals were simulated by AR(autoregressive) modeling, and ten real surface EMG signals were recorded from biceps brachii muscle and then modified to have non-stationary structures. In condition of varying segment length from 20ms to 100ms, stationarity of the signals was tested by using six different methods of modified Run-test and RA-test. The results indicate that the optimal segment length for the surface EMG is 30ms~35ms, and the best way for assessing surface EMG signal stationarity is the modified Run-test (Run2) method using this optimal length.

Livestock production in Vietnam is, as in most Asian countries, increasing rapidly and changing into specialized highly intensified operations. The volume of animal excreta generated exceeds the capacity of the operation land base and cannot be utilized efficiently. As a consequence, there is a loss of plant nutrients from livestock farms that causes environmental pollution. This study carried out a feed and excretion experiment measuring fecal characteristic, daily fecal production, daily nitrogen and phosphorous excretion from grower-finisher pigs fed prevalent rations in Vietnam. Furthermore, equations for assessing the excretion were tested, which can be used in farm models for optimal recycling of manure while focusing on reducing pollution. The results indicated that fecal production and nutrient excretion were affected by the different rations tested. This study showed that five selected equations for predicting excretion from grower-finisher pigs in Danish conditions can also be used with precision in Vietnamese pig farming systems. The equations have been proven valid and can, therefore, be used as a much needed tool for assessing fecal production and nitrogen in excreta on pig farms. The study also showed that about 12% of nitrogen excreted was emitted during housing. Waste water contains more than half of the nitrogen excreted, mainly in ammonium form which has a high potential for gaseous emission.
Chlorophyll fluorescence has been researched for assessing fruit post-harvest quality and condition. The objective of this preliminary research was to investigate the potential of fluorescence spectroscopy for measuring apple fruit quality. Ultraviolet (UV) and blue light was used as an excitation source for inducing fluorescence in apples. Fluorescence spectra were measured from 'Golden Delicious' (GD) and 'Red Delicious' (RD) apples using a visible/near-infrared spectrometer after one, three, and five minutes of continuous UV/blue light illumination. Standard destructive tests were performed to measure fruit firmness, skin and flesh color, soluble solids and acid content from the apples. Calibration models for each of the three illumination time periods were developed to predict fruit quality indexes. The results showed that fluorescence emission decreased steadily during the first three minutes of UV/blue light illumination and was stable within five minutes. The differences were minimal in the model prediction results based on fluorescence data at one, three or five minutes of illumination. Overall, better predictions were obtained for apple skin chroma and hue and flesh hue with values for the correlation coefficient of validation between 0.80 and 0.90 for both GD and RD. Relatively poor predictions were obtained for fruit firmness, soluble solids content, titrational acid, and flesh chroma. This research has demonstrated that fluorescence spectroscopy is potentially useful for assessing selected quality attributes of apple fruit and further research is needed to improve fluorescence measurements so that better predictions of fruit quality can be achieved.
