Design of an Intelligent Robot Control System Using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 지능형 로봇 제어 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we have proposed a new approach to the design of robot vision system to develop the technology for the automatic test and assembling of precision mechanical and electronic parts for the factory automation. In order to perform real time implementation of the automatic assembling tasks in the complex processes, we have developed an intelligent control algorithm based-on neural networks control theory to enhance the precise motion control. Implementing of the automatic test tasks has been performed by the real-time vision algorithm based-on TMS320C31 DSPs. It distinguishes correctly the difference between the acceptable and unacceptable defective item through pattern recognition of parts by the developed vision algorithm. Finally, the performance of proposed robot vision system has been illustrated by experiment for the similar model of fifth cell among the twelve cell for similar model of fifth cell among the twelve cell for automatic test and assemblig in S company.

  • A lab-use home made control valve was made of easily obtainable materials and its performance was examined through a fluid flow experiment. By modifying the hole of a commercial valve a linearly adjustable valve for the flow control is made. The detail of valve assembling and modification is explained for the researchers who intend to employ a similar control valve.

Study on seismic performance of shaking table model of full light-weight concrete utility tunnel

  • In order to study the anti-seismic performance of full light-weight concrete utility tunnel, EL Centro seismic waves were input, and the seismic simulation shaking table test was carried out on the four utility tunnel models. The dynamic characteristics and acceleration response of the system consisting of the utility tunnel structure and the soil, and the interlayer displacement response of the structure were analyzed. The influence law of different construction methods, haunch heights and concrete types on the dynamic response of the utility tunnel structure was studied. And the experimental results were compared with the finite element calculation results. The results indicated that with the increase of seismic wave intensity, the natural frequency of the utility tunnel structure system decreased and the damping ratio increased. The assembling composite construction method could be equivalent to replace the integral cast-in-place construction method. The haunch height of the assembling composite full light-weight concrete utility tunnel was increased from 30 mm to 50 mm to enhance the anti-seismic performance during large earthquakes. The anti-seismic performance of the full light-weight concrete utility tunnel was better than that of the ordinary concrete utility tunnel. The peak acceleration of the structure was reduced by 21.8% and the interlayer displacement was reduced by 45.8% by using full light-weight concrete. The finite element simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results, which could provide reference for practical engineering design and application.

  • The errors can cause the serious loss of the performance of a precision machine system. In this paper, we proposed the method of allocating the alignment tolerances of the parts and applied this method to get the optimal tolerances of a Confocal Scanning Microscope. In general, tight tolerances are required to maintain the performance of a system, but a high cost of manufacturing and assembling is required to preserve the tight tolerances. The purpose of allocating the optimal tolerances is minimizing the cost while keeping the high performance of the system. In the optimal problem, we maximized the tolerances while maintaining the performance requirements. The Monte Carlo Method, a statistical simulation method, is used in tolerance analysis. Alignment tolerances of optical components of the confocal scanning microscope are optimized to minimize the cost and to maintain the observation performance of the microscope. We can also apply this method to the other precision machine system.

A Study on the Bore-Sighting Automation for Small Arms Using the Image Processing (영상처리기법을 이용한 소화기 조준감사 자동화에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is launched to get an exact bore-sighting value in the process of assembling for a dual-barrel weapon. Image processing method with a CCD(Charged Coupled Device) camera is chosen for the error reduction of bore-sighting. The results of this method by using a CCD camera and the testing target method are described in this paper. After the performance of the dual-barrel weapon and that of the fire-control system in the dual barrel weapon system is confirmed, the bore-sighting which is a part of the process in the system assembly is accomplished. In this process, the position of the barrel is identified by using the testing target method that is an existing bore-sighting method. Then, the fixing line of the fire-control system is checked by a day-optical part. The precision of the bore-sighting is required within several mils, however the manual method using the naked eyes makes it worse. Therefore, a CCD camera is installed in the eyepieces. Next, we can get an image of the sighting and the center coordinate values of the laser-pointer from each barrel by image processing method. A required bore-sighting value is calculated from the eccentricity of the center coordinate. Finally, It can be applied to adopt this result in the assembling process of the dual-barrel weapon.

Low-Cost Hologram Module for Optical Pickup by Adjusting Photodiode Package (포토 다이오드 조정방식을 이용한 광 픽업용 저가 홀로그램 모듈)

  • We proposed a new and cost-effective method fer assembling holographic pickup modules without any high resolution vision system. Assembling was accomplished by adjusting photodiode package only, leading to a low cost, holographic pickup module. Focus and tracking error signals were simply determined by comparing spot sizes and by using the 3 beam method, respectively, based on four-sectional holographic optical elements. In experiment, we assembled a hologram module and estimated performance of the proposed method fur a holographic pickup module used in compact disc system.

  • SMD mounter is necessary in PCB assembling line. To feed SMD components to the mounter, high performance feeders are needed. Until now, mechanical air feeders have been mainly used. However, in these days, electrical feeders with network are developed. There are many kinds of feeders with various control techniques. In this paper, a feeder with BLDC motor and LON chip is designed and implemented. And, the experimental results are presented.

  • A pilot system for flexible automatic assembly has been built at ASRI in Seoul National University. The system is designed for being capable of assembling different variants and products. The system consists of three industrial robots, four free-flow conveyors, automatic tool changers, RCC and fixtures. This paper describes the concept and the technical solutions of the developed flexible assembly cell. Results of performance evaluation using colored petri net are also presented and discuss.

  • OBS망에서 버스트의 충돌로 인한 버스트의 drop은 TCP의 성능에 중요한 영향을 끼치나, 기존의 drop policy에서는 이를 고려하지 않으며 TCP에 대한 연구로는 버스트의 assembling이 주를 이루고 있다. 본 논문에서는 OBS망에서 TCP의 재전송 문제를 drop policy와 연계하여 그 성능을 향상시키고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 drop policy는 버스트의 재전송 횟수가 더 작은 버스트를 drop시키는 TCP 기반 DP이다. TCP 기반 DP 모델과 일반적인 DP 모델의 성능을 ns­2를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 평가하며, 이 때 시간의 변화에 따른 TCP throughput과 패킷의 drop rate을 비교 분석한다.

  • It is difficult to separate those of NC controller from the error of machine tools because the conventional testing methods to inspect the performance are including the errors of moving system, therefore it has been used as the methods that compare the other controllers. Also, it is hard to predict the machine itself errors with the methods assembling the NC controller and moving system on machine because of the variable load conditions. In this study, the performance inspecting system was developed by analyse the $axis\_rotating$ properties of servo system finally outputting from NC controller. The axis torque was controlled by motor dynamometer and the rotating position accuracy was measured by this developed system.
