Asian food and the Asian restaurant market have grown rapidly in the international market. It has become one of the major trends in the restaurant industry in the world. However, there has been little attempt to develop a scale for measuring customer's motivation to experience Asian restaurants, and cross-cultural approaches are very rare. From this point of view, this study examined an instrument to measure motivation to visit Asian restaurants developed by Jang and Kim (2015), which was originally developed based on UK customers, by applying the population from another cultural background, Thailand. A total of 308 valid responses were obtained in Thailand. CFA was performed with a Thai sample to test internal and external consistency of the scale with another population, and a comparison was made between UK and Thai customers.

Based on a total of 254 samples obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using structural equation model (SEM). SEM showed that the beneficialness (${\beta}=.187$, p<.01), amusement (${\beta}=.427$, p<.001) and vividness (${\beta}=.243$, p<.01) showed positive significant effects on customer's empathy. Customer's empathy had a positive significant effect on attitudes (${\beta}=.645$, p<.001) and visit intentions (${\beta}=.157$, p<.001). The information attributes of TV restaurant programs and the causal relationship between empathy of consumers were examined. We also verified that empathy positively affects attitudes toward intentions to visit restaurants introduced on TV restaurant programs. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of service quality mediating the linkage among food and beverage price, restaurant image and value. A total of 273 questionnaires were completed. MANOVA, ANOVA and ANCOVA were used to measure the mediating effect of service quality on the relationships among food and beverage price, restaurant image, and value. The effects of food and beverage price and restaurant image on service quality and value were statistically significant. Moreover, when restaurant image and service quality were regressed on the value, the restaurant image and service quality had a significant effects on value. The results demonstrated that service quality played a mediating role in the relationship between food and beverage price and value, and between restaurant image and value.
The principal objectives of this study were : 1) to classify groups via cluster analysis for undergraduate's attributes of restaurant choice, and 2) to assess differences in dining-out behaviors among each restaurant choice cluster. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 387 students, and the data were analyzed via frequency analysis, chi-square, one-way ANOVA, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. Three clusters were obtained by the attributes of restaurant choice from cluster analysis : Cluster 1 "indifferent style", Cluster 2 "ordinary style", and Cluster 3 "highly interested (careful) style". As for connections between the attributes of restaurant choice and distinctive dining-out behaviors in different undergraduates clusters, an indifferent style was rampant among the male students in their lower academic years. This group of students responded that they ate out only to satisfy their hunger, and stayed in a restaurant for one hour or less. Their friends made the choice of a restaurant on their behalf. The students in the "ordinary style" group spent between 5 and 10 thousand won to dine out, and stayed in a restaurant with their friends for two hours or less. They made the choice of a restaurant on their own, or together with their friends. A highly interested (careful) style prevailed among the female students in the upper academic year. This group of students ate out in order to mingle with their friends or colleagues rather than to satisfy their hunger, and they generally made a choice of a restaurant on their behalf.
