탄성받침의 강성 변동을 고려한 PSCI 거더 교량의 지진 응답 평가 (Seismic Response Evaluation of PSCI Girder Bridges Considering Stiffness Variation in Elastic Bearings)

  • An elastic bearing must be strong against vertical loads and flexible against horizontal loads. However, due to the material characteristics of rubber, it may show variability due to the manufacturing process and environmental factors. If the value applied in the bridge design stage and the actual measured value have different values or if the performance during operation changes, the performance required in the design stage may not be achieved. In this paper, the seismic response of bridges was compared and analyzed by assuming a case where quality deviation occurs during construction compared to the design value for elastic bearings, which have not only always served as traditional bearings but also have had many applications in recent seismic reinforcement. The bearing's vertical stiffness and shear stiffness deviation were considered separately for the quality deviation. In order to investigate the seismic response, a time history analysis was performed using artificial seismic waves. The results confirmed that the change in the bearing's shear stiffness affects the natural period and response of the structure.

  • In the history of the costume of Western Europe one of the most interesting apects is that the silhouette of women's dress has been continuously evolved. There can be various origins in this changing silhouette but the most important origin is that clothes of any period are the reflection of the architectural political religious and economic background against which they are worn they must also be djusted to the texture and design of the materials produced at the time and of course there is always the basic instinct of sex attraction. The changing line in men's and women's clothes has been demanded by each period but man's great active life did not required the development of exaggerated line which could restrict his movements. Exaggeration in men's clothes has usually been confined to accessories only details could be simplified or abandoned altogether in time of action. However Woman has no great concern in these restrivtions and when an era demanded an exaggerated silhouette she developed it to the utmost limit with out any hesitation plunged herself into whalebone cane and steel for the desired line and then later to adapt herself to a changing world just as without any hesitaion abandoned all these artificial props. In this study first of all the origin of the corset and the evolution of silhouette will be chronologically studied and rearranged on the basis of written materials such as text books theses and catalogs which are related to corset In this section the most important backgrounds-social religious and economic-which caused the chages of silhouette will be scrutinized in a time order. Then the shapes and functions of corsets will be looked into in a more detailed way. In addition the materials and decorations which were preferred to achieve the desired silhouette will be examined. Finally underwear which was and has been worn for cleanness protection the shapes of outer clothes and erotic mood will be studied.

시계열 예측 모델을 활용한 암호화폐 투자 전략 개발 (Developing Cryptocurrency Trading Strategies with Time Series Forecasting Model)

  • This study endeavors to enrich investment prospects in cryptocurrency by establishing a rationale for investment decisions. The primary objective involves evaluating the predictability of four prominent cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and EOS - and scrutinizing the efficacy of trading strategies developed based on the prediction model. To identify the most effective prediction model for each cryptocurrency annually, we employed three methodologies - AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Prophet - representing traditional statistics and artificial intelligence. These methods were applied across diverse periods and time intervals. The result suggested that Prophet trained on the previous 28 days' price history at 15-minute intervals generally yielded the highest performance. The results were validated through a random selection of 100 days (20 target dates per year) spanning from January 1st, 2018, to December 31st, 2022. The trading strategies were formulated based on the optimal-performing prediction model, grounded in the simple principle of assigning greater weight to more predictable assets. When the forecasting model indicates an upward trend, it is recommended to acquire the cryptocurrency with the investment amount determined by its performance. Experimental results consistently demonstrated that the proposed trading strategy yields higher returns compared to an equal portfolio employing a buy-and-hold strategy. The cryptocurrency trading model introduced in this paper carries two significant implications. Firstly, it facilitates the evolution of cryptocurrencies from speculative assets to investment instruments. Secondly, it plays a crucial role in advancing deep learning-based investment strategies by providing sound evidence for portfolio allocation. This addresses the black box issue, a notable weakness in deep learning, offering increased transparency to the model.

비탄성 지진응답평가를 위한 Spectrum Intensity Scale 분석 (Analysis of the Spectrum Intensity Scale for Inelastic Seismic Response Evaluation)

  • 최대지반가속도(PGA : Peak Ground Acceleration)는 지진파의 최대값을 나타내는 매개변수(Parameter)이며 주로 지진파의 강도를 나타낸다. PGA가 동일하더라도 지진파에 따라 다른 동적특성을 가질 수 있고 구조물에 미치는 영향도 다를 수 있다. 따라서 PGA만으로 구조물에 미치는 지진의 특성을 평가하는 것은 바람직하지 못하다. 본 연구에서는 구조물의 비탄성 지진응답해석을 위하여 단자유도(Single Degree Of Freedom) 구조물의 시간이력해석 수행하였으며, 수치해석모델은 완전 탄소성(Perfect Elasto-Plastic)으로 가정하였다. 검토한 입력 지진파는 El Centro NS(1940)의 값을 증감한 지진파를 포함한 실측지진파, 인공지진파를 사용하였다. 이와 같은 수치해석을 통하여 PGA가 동일한 인공지진파들에 대해 비탄성 지진응답해석을 수행하고, 각 지진파에 대하여 변위연성도와 누적소산에너지를 비교하였다. 그 결과 동일한 PGA를 가지더라도 지진파에 따라 서로 다른 응답을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 지진의 특성뿐 아니라 구조물의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 지표가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 구조물의 비탄성 지진응답을 대표할 수 있는 SI(Spectrum Intensity)는 속도응답스펙트럼의 일정구간에 대한 적분을 통하여 얻을 수 있다. 이러한 SI와 변위연성도 및 누적소산에너지의 상관관계 분석을 통하여 구조물의 지진에 대한 비탄성응답의 대표값으로 SI가 적합하다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

A research on the possibility of restoring cultural assets of artificial intelligence through the application of artificial neural networks to roof tile(Wadang)

  • 역사적 지역에서 발굴되는 문화재는 시대적 배경을 바탕으로 고유의 특징을 가지고 있으며, 역사와 전파 지역의 흐름에 따라 그 문양과 특징이 조금씩 변화하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 어떤 지역에서 발굴된 문화재는 그 당시의 문화를 대표하며 온전한 모습을 유지하는 것도 있지만, 대부분이 파손/손실되거나 일부분으로 나누어져 그 구성을 연구하고 파손된 부분을 복구하기 위해 많은 전문가가 동원된다. 이 연구의 목적은 이러한 복원연구에 인공지능 신경망을 통해 과거의 문양과 패턴들을 학습시키고, 출토된 문화재에서 손실된 부분을 복원시키는 데 있으며, 문화재를 복원하기 위해 기본적인 생성적 적대 신경망인 GAN(Generative Adversarial Network)[1]을 사용한다. 연구에서는 GAN을 기반으로 출토된 문화재 일부를 기반으로 하여 손상/손실된 나머지 부분을 복구한 연구 과정으로, 학습에 기반이 되는 온전한 문화재의 이미지로 훈련을 하고, 일부를 마음대로 손상해 복구할 수 있도록 했다. 연구는 문화재 복구에 있어, 시대적 특징을 어느 정도 복구하는지, 색상과 재질을 복구하는지에 중점을 두고 있다. 마지막으로는 실제 출토된 비슷한 문화재를 기반으로 훈련된 신경망을 사용하여 문양을 복구함으로써 인공신경망의 적용 범위를 연구한다.

Introducing SEABOT: Methodological Quests in Southeast Asian Studies

  • How to study Southeast Asia (SEA)? The need to explore and identify methodologies for studying SEA are inherent in its multifaceted subject matter. At a minimum, the region's rich cultural diversity inhibits both the articulation of decisive defining characteristics and the training of scholars who can write with confidence beyond their specialisms. Consequently, the challenges of understanding the region remain and a consensus regarding the most effective approaches to studying its history, identity and future seem quite unlikely. Furthermore, "Area Studies" more generally, has proved to be a less attractive frame of reference for burgeoning scholarly trends. This paper will propose a new tool to help address these challenges. Even though the science of artificial intelligence (AI) is in its infancy, it has already yielded new approaches to many commercial, scientific and humanistic questions. At this point, AI has been used to produce news, generate better smart phones, deliver more entertainment choices, analyze earthquakes and write fiction. The time has come to explore the possibility that AI can be put at the service of the study of SEA. The paper intends to lay out what would be required to develop SEABOT. This instrument might exist as a robot on the web which might be called upon to make the study of SEA both broader and more comprehensive. The discussion will explore the financial resources, ownership and timeline needed to make SEABOT go from an idea to a reality. SEABOT would draw upon artificial neural networks (ANNs) to mine the region's "Big Data", while synthesizing the information to form new and useful perspectives on SEA. Overcoming significant language issues, applying multidisciplinary methods and drawing upon new yields of information should produce new questions and ways to conceptualize SEA. SEABOT could lead to findings which might not otherwise be achieved. SEABOT's work might well produce outcomes which could open up solutions to immediate regional problems, provide ASEAN planners with new resources and make it possible to eventually define and capitalize on SEA's "soft power". That is, new findings should provide the basis for ASEAN diplomats and policy-makers to develop new modalities of cultural diplomacy and improved governance. Last, SEABOT might also open up avenues to tell the SEA story in new distinctive ways. SEABOT is seen as a heuristic device to explore the results which this instrument might yield. More important the discussion will also raise the possibility that an AI-driven perspective on SEA may prove to be even more problematic than it is beneficial.

영화색채의 주황, 현실과 가상 (Orange in Film Color: Real and Virtual)

  • 이 글에서는 현실과 가상이라는 개념을 중심으로 영화색채의 주황을 분석한다. 색채학에서 주황은 달콤하면서 신맛을 연상시킨다. 심리적으로는 자연에서 오렌지의 주황은 건강하지만, 도시에서 늦은 오후의 주황은 해롭다. 따뜻하고, 천진난만하고, 낭만의 주황이 다른 편에서는 낯설고 해롭다. 영화에서 주황은 가장 기본적인 색이다. 그것은 이미지를 재현하는 인공조명의 원천이 주황이기 때문이다. 한국영화에서 표현된 주황의 주요 특성을 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 영화에서 표현된 주황은 영화적 사실을 현실의 진실처럼 보이게 한다. 둘째, 주황은 가상의 역사를 표현하며, 가짜이미지와 기억에 해당한다. 셋째, 빛과 색으로서의 주황은 아우라이다. 일출과 일몰의 주황은 영화의 인공조명과 유사하며, 텅스텐 조명의 주황은 실재 인물들을 초현실적이고 신비스럽게 만든다. 넷째, 달콤한 환상으로서의 주황은 다른 세계와의 의사소통을 중개한다. 슈퍼마켓에 가고, 커피숍에서 친구와 노닥이고, 텔레비전 앞에서 시간을 보내는 일상에서 주황은 삶을 자유롭게 꿈꾸게 한다. 그것은 현존과 다른 세계 사이의 커뮤니케이션을 매개한다. 이상의 네 가지 범주의 규정은 이 글의 가정이자 결과이다.

단토의 '철학하는 예술' 개념에 대한 비판적 고찰 (A Critical Study on Arthur C. Danto's' Philosophizing Art')

  • The term "philosophizing art" was coined by Arthur Danto, who tried to define new forms of art, especially Andy Warhol's pop art appeared in New York after 1960's, which could not be explained by traditional concept of "representation". As Danto said "the term 'philosophizing art' is unclear, whether art discusses philosophical issues or art is the object of philosophic discussions", it does not seem like Danto himself had a specific idea when he used this term. The background for Danto coining this term derives from the fact that the old art concept such as denotation and connotation could not fully explain phenomenalistic aspects of concept art which appeared frequently at that time. Many articles in his book "philosophizing art", in which many of his criticism are included, mainly say that art begins philosophizing by dealing with not mimesis or representation but concepts. According to his argument, the history of western art, which has been consisted of mimesis and representation, has come to end when art is about physically embodied with meaning. Of course, as Danto say so, what goes to end is not art itself, but the narrative of art. It means master narrative saying art should be shown different from nature or artificial daily product is over. Danto could not find principals of mimesis and representation which had been main logic in the western art history, when he saw Andy Warhol's Brillo Boxes at Stable Gallery, New York in 1964. Danto questioned "if we can not distinguish Brillo box's artistic aspects visually from other factory-made products, how can we distinguish art from non-art", By answering those questions, he discovered two facts which made him realize the end of Art: One is there is no special way in which works of art have to be shown or has to exist. Therefore, art history has proven that commercial boxes, trashes and files of underwear can be a work of art. The other is we have fully recognized it at the end of 20thcentury. Danto confessed that through Brillo Boxes, he realized the works of art are decided by something can not be seen by eyes, not by distinguished differences by looking at it. This thesis is trying to show personal understanding about art, philosophy and discourses surrounding them and to figure out how Dante opened a new world to art criticism by using new definitions such as 'end of art' and 'philosophizing art' which Danto used to explain inner aspects of art.

일측성 유방절제술이 척추측만증을 일으키는가? (0Does Unilateral Mastectomy Cause Scoliosis?)

  • Purpose: It is known that the chronic absence of unilateral breast can cause spine curvature. The artificial breast manufactures take up the position of that possibility. This study was designed to evaluate the influence of the mastectomy on the spine and appearance of scoliosis among women who wanted delayed breast reconstruction. ted delayed breast reconstruction. Methods: The study population consisted of 47 women who underwent delayed breast reconstruction at our Department of Plastic Surgery from April 2001 to May 2007. The whole spine anteroposterior and lateral X-ray was taken to evaluate the Cobb's angle. As a general rule a Cobb angle of 10 is regarded as a minimum angulation to define scoliosis. We evaluated Cobb's angle and drew a correlation between the duration of the mastectomy state and the weight of the mastectomy specimen. Results: There were no family history of scoliosis, and no numbness or weakness in the upper or lower extremities. They had normal reflex and experienced no tenderness of the perispinal area. The Spearman Correlation Coefficient between Cobb's angle and the period that took time from the mastectomy to the X-rays and analysis between Cobb's angle and specimen weight was 0.032 and-0.115. there were no correlation between Cobb's angle and time, or between Cobb's angle and specimen weight. Conclusion: lthough the patients attribute their back pain and distorted posture to having received an one-sided mastectomy, it is unlikely that one-sided mastectomy causes spinal deformity and scoliosis.

지능사회의 패러다임 변화 전망과 정책적 함의 (Paradigms of the Intelligent Society : Analysis and Policy Implications)

  • 지능사회의 등장은 급격한 패러다임 변화를 몰고올 것으로 예상된다. 역사상 처음으로 사물이 지능을 갖게 되고, 그 결과 사회의 모든 영역에서 예상치 못한 변화가 초래될 것으로 보인다. 이 글은 지능사회의 변화 방향을 전망하기 위해 우선 세계관의 변화 이슈를 분석하였다. 인간과 자연을 두 축으로 하는 이원적 세계관과 인간-기계-자연으로 이루어진 삼원적 세계관을 비교한 후 '기술이 매개하는 이원적 세계관'을 지능사회의 세계관으로 제안하였다. 이 세계관에 기초하여 지능사회의 패러다임 변화방향을 네 가지로 요약하여 전망하였다. 1. 지능의 외부화, 2. 생산성 폭발, 3. 플랫폼 사회, 4. 자기조직화 사회가 그것이다. 지능기술의 발전으로 인간은 지능증강, 생산능력 제고, 자기조직화 효과 등 다양한 이점을 누리겠지만, 다른 한편으로 기술에 대한 통제력이 약화되어 시스템 실패 가능성도 높아진다. 결론적으로 지능사회의 변화는 가치중립적이기 때문에 인간의 선택과 노력에 따라 유토피아가 될 수도 있고 디스토피아가 될 수도 있다.
