This study was carried out to obtain basic data on mycelial growth characteristics for an artificial cultivation of Grifola frondosa. Ten strains of G. frondosa were collected from Korea, China and Japan and investigated its optimal culture condition. Among four kinds of mushroom culture media, PDA medium was selected as the suitable culture medium. The optimal conditions for the mycelial growth of G. frondosa in PDA medium were $25^{\circ}C$ and $4{\sim}5$ of pH, respectively. The carbon and nitrogen sources for the optimum mycelial growth were fructose and peptone, respectively, and the highest mycelial growth was observed when the C/N ratio was $10{\sim}20$.

This study was conducted to research how UCD(Ultra Constant Discharge) lamp lighting affects plant cultivation. To get the results within a short time, lettuce seedling was selected as a plant and nutrient hydroponic beds were used in a dark room for 100% artificial lighting. Two beds were installed for same distance lighting condition with UCD lamp and Hi-pressure Sodium lamp each and another two beds were installed for same light intensity condition with each type of lamp. After 15 days of cultivation, for both conditions, the yields under UCD lamp were weighed more than that under Hi-pressure Sodium lamp. The result can be analyzed that the spectrum of UCD lamp having near sunlight characteristic is much superior to that of Hi-pressure Sodium lamp having a line spectrum characteristic on yellow and red wavelengths for plant cultivation.
This study was carried out to determine the effect of the artificial pollination on fruit set, seed formation and fruit quality in kiwifruit and to confirm the effective pollination time for optimal fruit set in the shelter greenhouse cultivation. Also, the effect of artificial pollination practice by the pollen diluent solution was tested. By artificial pollination, fruit set, seed formation, and fruit quality was improved both in the open field condition and in the shelter greenhouse cultivation. In order to find the effective pollination period (EPP), artificial pollination was carried out every day until 7 days after full bloom. Number of seeds and fruit set rate and fruit growth of kiwifruit were no significantly different until 4 days after full bloom (DAFB), but, those of kiwifruit from 5 DAFB significantly decreased. Consequently, the effective pollination period of kiwifruit in the shelter greenhouse was 4 days after full bloom. Also, artificial pollination by the pollen diluent solution was showed the similar fruit set and fruit quality compare to that by lycopodium powder. Accordingly, artificial pollination by the pollen diluent solution should be very effective practice for labor saving in kiwifruit cultivation.

For the purpose of application for biomass of Pleurotus eryngii, the optimum culture condition were tested. It was found that the optimum culture condition for spot culture of pleurotus eryngii were 24$^{\circ}C$ for 18 days with PDA medium. And the optimum culture condition of bioreactor for biomass were pH 5.5, 18$^{\circ}C$ and 27 days with PDMP broth. It was possible to artificial cultivation of mycelial from Pleurotus eryngii using bioreactor for biomass under the optimum conditions, and it was also possible for Pleurotus eryngii biomass because the forming of fruiting body when Pleurotus eryngii was cultivated using mass artificial cultivated mycelial in the bioreactor.
To produce fruiting bodies of Oudemansiella mucida, porcelain fungus, on the oak sawdust medium, additives suitable for the mycelial growth and fruiting body formation were screened. In general, the mycelial growth of the three strains of O. mucida used in this study have been good on oak sawdust mixed rice bran of $20{\sim}30%$. The mycelia incubated in potato dextrose broth for 7 days were inoculated on oak sawdust medium supplemented with various ratios of rice bran and incubated for 30 days at $25^{\circ}C$ in the dark condition until the mycelia of O. mucida fully colonized the media from top to bottom. Then, top surface of the media in the bottles were horizontally scratched with a spatula and filled with tap water for 3 hours. To induce the primordial formation of O. mucida, the bottles were transferred to the mushroom cultivating room under 12 hrs of light (350 lux) and dark condition with relative humidity of 95% at $17^{\circ}C$. The primordia of O. mucida were formed on the surface of oak sawdust media after 7 days of incubation. The mature fruiting bodies were observed 5 days after primordial formation. The fruiting bodies O. mucida were formed on oak sawdust medium mixed with 5 to 30% rice bran. However, abundant fruiting-bodies of O. mucida were produced in oak sawdust medium supplemented with 20% rice bran. This is the first report associated with an artificial fruiting body production of O. mucida in Korea.

Sargassum macrocarpum is a rich source of anti-inflammatory compounds. Recently, one of the compounds, tuberatolide B, has been reported as a functional anti-inflammatory additive for foods and nutraceuticals. The artificial seeding, growth and maturation of S. macrocarpum were investigated from May 2018 to September 2019. Indoor culture experiments for induction of egg release were conducted at temperatures of 17, 20, 23, and 26℃ and irradiances of 0, 10, 20, 40, and 80 μmol photons m-2 s-1 under 14 : 10 h (L : D) photoperiod. Within a given treatment combination, higher temperatures and irradiance levels favoured the maturation of receptacles in S. macrocarpum. Using artificial temperature and irradiance control, thalli matured one month earlier than thalli in nature. Under natural condition, receptacle formation began in April, and the eggs were released in June and July. The release of eggs from the receptacles was promoted at 17-20℃ and 40-80 μmol photons m-2 s-1, and the fastest growth of germlings occuring at 15-17℃ and 40 μmol photons m-2 s-1. For mature thalli, 300 g wet-weight was sufficient to seed 100 m of seed string. Thalli grew to 10.5 ± 2.6 cm in length at a density of 6.7 ± 3.3 individuals m-1 after 1 year of cultivation, from germination. This study demonstrates that it is possible to cultivate S. macrocarpum for the production of anti-inflammatory products.

Recently the artificial intelligence green house system, which collects automatically the informations of plants cultivation circumstances and controls the growing circumstances, is studied using temperature, humidity and illuminance sensors. In this paper, the inference for plants cultivation of optimum circumstance conditions is simulated on the internet bases by predicting the temperature, humidity and illuminance. On the IOT circumstances, the plant cultivation conditions of temperature, humidity and illuminance, using Arduino sensor, are transmitted to the manager on realtime and if the optimum condition of temperature and humidity for plant cultivation is not equal to the values, the system transmits automatically the SMS warning messages on realtime. Although the sudden climite conditions(snow, rain, hot weather) are occurred, the optimum condition of plant cultivation can be controlled. In this paper, using Fuzzy rules and WEKA TOOL, although the same flora temperature zone is used, the simulation is produced for the optimum value of temperature, humidity and illuminance for the zone.
A edible mushroom, Hypsizygus marmoreus is commercially cultivated in Northeast Asia. Japan's annual production is 110,000ton or more. Since 2002, cultivation is expanded in Korea. To investigate the morphological, cultural and microscopic characteristics of Hypsizygus marmoreus, 109 isolates were collected from Korea and other countries. Clamp connection, chlamydospore and arthrospore were present in all tested isolates of H. marmoreus except HYM-002 and HYM-004. Also pilealtrama, gilltrama, basidia, basidiospore and cystidia of fruiting body were no difference among the isolates in the present investigation. Morphological characteristics of fruiting body was that color of pileus was brown and white, irregular as marble, the average size 12~22mm and stipes was $46{\sim}91{\times}6{\sim}10mm$. Isolates HYM-031, HYM-047 and HYM-109 formed grayish-brown pileus with a faint pattern. Molecular analysis with RAPD and ITS rDNA sequence analysis were also performed to check the genetic relationships among H. marmoreus isolates. Based on the RAPD analysis using the URP-PCR, all isolates of H. marmoreus were clustered into large 3 groups but more than 90% showed high similarity. In addition, morphological and geographical differences have been classified as an independent cluster. The brown and white strains enclosed in same cluster. So genetically no significance difference was observed between these two strains. ITS gene sequences of 16 selected isolates which were 640 bp long, were aligned and compared. The similarity in ITS sequence was 94.8 to 99.1% among tested isolates and the H. marmoreus isolates in GeneBank. In conclusion the tested isolates were H. marmoreus. Morphological and molecular observations proved that all tested isolates were belonging to H. marmoreus. For the stable artificial cultivation, composition of optimum media, mature period and light condition were established. Optimal formula of artificial cultivation medium was Douglas sawdust: corn cob: soybean meal: wheat bran = 40:30:15:15. In addition, 7% rice bran and 3% yellow sucrose was the most effective composition for spawn's liquid medium. For the maturation of the isolates was favorable for growing for 20 to 30 days at $25^{\circ}C$ and the LED lights in mixture of white and blue was good for growth period. For effective growth, the temperature, humidity and aeration control in every step was important.
For artificial cultivation of Phellinus pini (Thore. Fr.) Ames, we conducted some study on mycelium growth and optimum condition for fruitbody formation. The optimum condition for mycelial growth was $25{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ at pH $5.0{\sim}6.0$. Optimum sawdust media were oak sawdust+willow sawdust+rice bran (4.5:4.5:1, V/V) and oak sawdust+pine sawdust+rice bran (4.5:4.5:1, V/V) and the optimum spawn incubation period was about $33{\sim}34$ days. Mycelial growth in the inner portion of oak log was 40 mm after 60 days and duration for first fruitbody primordia formation was about 110 days after inoculation.
This study was performed to produce basic data for silty reclaimed tidal lands and to develop techniques of environmentally-friendly utilization in agricultural system. We chose the two sites in Saemangeum reclaimed tidal lands, one (Site I) has been treated with cultivating green manure and conducting the desalinization process through submergence since April, 2007 and the other (Site II) has been under natural condition without artificial treatment. In situ and ex situ physic-chemical properties were determined and comparisons were made for soil profiles examined at these two sites in April 2009. Surface soil of Site I had lower EC and higher field saturated hydraulic conductivity than those of Site II, uncultivated land. Especially, exchangeable sodium content was lowest in Site I Ap1 layer than in other layers. This is probably due to flooding desalination and green manure cultivation. Besides, Ap1 and A2 layers of soil profile in Site I showed brighter soil color and more root observation than those of Site II. This is probably due to green manure cultivation. By the large, for high cash upland crops and intensive agricultural use of silty reclaimed tidal land, site-specific soil ripening such as flooding desalination and green manure cultivation could be useful.
