Growing interest in everyday-life archives and community archives leads to the establishment of small-scale archives in the private sector. Interoperability of descriptive information is necessary to be able to have a link between these factors. The purpose of this study is to explore how descriptive information can be interoperable in private archives, which participate in the archives network, and to suggest a direction in organizing the private and community archives network. For this purpose, it investigated the current situation of archival description in small-scale private archives in Korea, especially in terms of collection, and analyzed descriptive information applied to four foreign archives networks. Based on the analysis, it gives some suggestions for sharing descriptive information in Private and Community Archive Network (PCAN) in Korea.

The research on the archiving performing arts has recently been conducted on various aspects in Korea, but there has been no research or attempts to build a digital archive that can systematically identify the information on classical music performances in one place and get the past performance information. In this study, we proposed a participatory archive portal for providing, preserving and servicing information on all classical music performances, and tried to design the functions based on the requirements of the performance archive portal identified in previous research. We identified and proposed functional requirements of the portal, reorganized the characteristics of classical music performance information, and designed metadata elements. Then we presented the design and implementation direction of search and facet navigation, as well as user participation and communication functions. Lastly, we developed a prototype that implemented the requirements of the interface.

To research the directionality of Korean literary archives, this paper introduces the modern literature archive of the National Library of Korea and discusses the future direction of the archive of the National Museum of Korean Literature. The modern literature archive of the National Library of Korea is operated with focus on digitizing the original text of modern literature, providing professional release information, and constructing contents related to modern writers and literary history. As such, the National Museum of Korean Literature, which aims to open in 2023, needs to refer to the case of the National Library of Korea but introduce more professional curating. In other words, the archivist should have the initiative to document the context of the records so that literature can be reproduced creatively based on the archived data. Moreover, he/she should actively implement archive policies to expand the availability of materials.

This study raises the need to establish a 'Presidential Digital Archive Platform' that actively shares and opens related information and data by linking and integrating the presidential knowledge infrastructure. The Presidential Digital Archive Platform can promote the quality and value of presidential records as a "Governance Platform" where "Presidential Archives", "Presidential Archives-related Institutions" and "users" can interact through presidential records. And it will provide an opportunity to create a new paradigm. For this purpose, 'Presidential archives portal analysis' and 'Presidential Archives-related Institutions analysis' will be conducted to identify improvements and requirements when establishing the Presidential Digital Archive Platform. In addition to deriving implications through 'Digital Archive Platform case analysis' at home and abroad, measures to strengthen presidential archival reference services were discussed. Finally, based on the results, a step-by-step implementation strategy for platform construction was presented.

In 2001 a large amount of labor record have been donated from Jeontaeil Labor Archive-Institute to SungKongHoe University(SKHU). Institute of Labor History in SKHU was established in the wake of the installation of the labor archive. Development of oral archive raised the awareness of the various relationships between the use and production of labor record. Interviewees of oral testimony expressed dissatisfaction and the role of the researchers was not sufficiently exhibited. Examining the main cases of Korea union movement history, we can find contradictions between the use and production of labor record clearly. Interval of interpretation and memory was too big between the parties of 'democratic' union movement in the 1970s. While among the parties who took part in Guro Alliance Strike of 1985, there is a group that remains in the "winner" in history on the one hand, but "loser" on the other without any reasonable criterion. Active intervention of the record users(researchers) is very limited. Among citizens or workers how will be resolved such "struggle of memory" in due process can not be seen. This is one of the reasons why labor archive is not rooted in the region. In this paper, I present a methodological alternatives for the production and use of records through the construction of participatory labor archive. Further, the reconstituted contents of the "documenting locality" strategy by complementing the theoretical part of the method of participation. The study of local and locality requires a "scale" dimension that will make up the identity recognition space, a memory and identity, a social relationship rather than the dimension of the physical space. Alternative "documenting locality" strategy will be able to contribute to solve the problems that occur between the production and use of the recording in labor archive.

For the purpose of the optimization or the break through of production processes, it is essential to understand or theoretically interpret dominant mechanisms of the processes, and further more, archive them. and utilize them combining some of them which are needed. Especially in the technology for micro- or nano-scaled objects, adhesion phenomenon is no more negligible, because the adhesion force is proportional to the size of objects meanwhile gravity force is proportional to the third power of it. Author has been working about the mechanisms for micro-assembly processes, which include joining processes and manipulation processes. In the present paper, the strategy and the progress to establish the micro-assembly technology archive are introduced. Some of the mechanisms are introduced with related basic approaches to the adhesion phenomena. Also it will be expressed that our data base project for the surface and interfacial energies is strongly related to these basic approaches.

Selection, identification, preservation, and maintenance components of the digital archive is be investigated.

This thesis concerns urban construction archive management business of China in the 20th century 12 items of state level construction archives, 11 categories of urban construction archives was initially studied. And studies on data collection method, obligations and range of service, etc. of urban construction archives center were conducted as well. Urban construction archive management business was aggressively pursued in terms of national policy, based on the state plan to construct medium-sized and large cities and Mao ZeDong(毛澤東)‘s direction regarding of urban construction archives. As a result, there happened to be various levels and types of 3,186 archive centers, as of 2003. And the archives centers of urban construction have been estavlished in 662 cities all over China so far, while the establishment of the urban construction archives centers was pursued only in 42 cities in 1960s. Another point to note is that staff members of junior college or higher educational background account for 70% - 80% of overall human resources of the archives center of urban construction, while 60 - 70% of them are technical level. This makes professional human resources represent at least 60% of the total human resources of the centers. This is a result of effort of China to enhance urban construction archive management business on both quantitative and qualitative level. And through the study on the situation of urban construction archive management business in Beijing(北京), it was learned that urban construction archives are being collected and managed in archives centers of the respective areas as well as in professional archives centers of urban construction. Some suggestions were also made regarding what kind of direction Korea should take to pursue the business of urban construction archive management.

This study aims to share a methodology for locality reproduction by concretely explaining the theoretical model, procedure, and practice of constructing the Port of Busan Image Digital Archive, based on the photographic and postcard images of the Port of Busan, the representative place of Busan. Among the open-source record management programs, Omeka was chosen in implementing the digital archive because of its suitability for image exhibition. After establishing the principles for archive implementation in accordance with the purpose of the archive, a basic investigation was conducted for the record collection. With the consent of the individuals and institutions that possess the related records on the Port of Busan, such as the National Archives of Korea, the Busan Museum, and the City of Busan, original image artifacts were thus collected. The collected artifacts were then described using the Dublin Core metadata and categorized by time period. The Port of Busan was classified through four distinctive spatial characteristics (transportation, historic, industrial, and living spaces). A total of 11 themes for the exhibition was then suggested. The Busan-Shimonoseki Ferry Boat was chosen as an example exhibition of transportation space.

이 연구는 대학도서관 사서에게 어떠한 지적 기반을 요구하고 있는가에 대한 물음에서 시작되었다. 현 문헌정보학 교과과정이 대학도서관에 필요한 사서를 양성하는데 적합한지 현장 사서들의 의견을 들어보았다. 특히, 시대가 요구하는 대학도서관 사서들이 갖추어야 하는 능력이 무엇인지 지식, 기술, 태도의 측면으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 대학도서관이 요구하는 사서를 양성하기 위해서 문헌정보학 교과과정은 어떻게 변화되어야 하는지 논의해보았다.
