  • This paper first examines the notion of software and the importance of software development and then presents twelve fundamental principles for software architecture design as the key enabling technology for effective software development. This paper divides design steps into four groups, i.e. analyzing the problem, deciding architecture modeling methods, architecture design process and architecture evaluation. Then it identifies the principles within and across the various steps of software architecture design and explains their roles.

  • Component-Based Development(CBD) leverages software reusability and diminishes development costs. Various works about component models, such as EJB, COM, and CCM are in progress to support CBD. However, current component models hardly support flexible assembly of pre-built components. To cope with this problem, architecture for component assembly must be defined in the abstract level and the gap between system architecture and its implementation should be diminished in the implementation level. This paper proposes a method for architecture-based design and implementation of component assembly. Architecture is described by the ADL, and the tool, COBALT Assembler, is introduced to support the proposed design and implementation phase of component assembly.

  • Recently, Architecture Frameworks are used to develop Information Management System (IMS). This paper describes an operational architecture development method for railway system safety assessment. using DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture framework). The need of IMS is increasing to perform safety assessment task effectively and efficiently as safety-critical system like railway System. It is necessary that operational architecture based IMS requirements generated fir safety assessment. ARP(Aerospace Recommended Practice)4761 are referred to develop safety assessment operational architecture applicable to railway system. Firstly, schema and template was developed to perform the operational architecture development process using a commercial CASysE(Computer-Aided Systems engineering) tool, CORE. Not only the operational architecture allows building flexible IMS, but also helps business process solving.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the neuro architecture items and detailed elements that can be considered for each detailed space in the future medical space design development through the development of a checklist of neuro architecture elements that can be utilized in medical space design. Methods:: This study first develops the neuro architecture element through theoretical research and prepares the basic plan for the checklist through consultation with the employees of the design company in which the researcher works. Finally, a checklist was developed through a survey of nine experts, including designers, hospital staff, and professors. Results: The result of this study 1) The neuro architecture component was developed in seven categories: light, color, sound, air, image, nature, ergonomic furniture and equipment. 2) Specifically, it consists of 49 elements including 7 light elements, 7 color elements, 5 sound elements, 4 air elements, 11 image elements, 6 elements in nature, 9 elements in ergonomic furniture and equipment. It was. 3) Although each of the detailed elements is more preferred according to the space, in general, all the elements should be considered in the context of the hospital space design. Implications: The checklist on the neuro architecture element will enable the development of the most faithful design as an efficient and useful tool for applying the neuro architecture philosophy that considers human beings in hospital design and pursues healing and happiness.

  • In the 21st century modem architecture, not only environmental problems and sustainable development but also two subjects, 'Globalization' and 'Localization', have become important issues. The modern application of vernacular design which is the design model including the characteristics of region, a people and tradition can be a solution for localization and sustainable development. Vernacular design gives many ideas in respect of organic art and design, the dilemma of modern architecture, and practical solution of its problems, and is considered as an important resource of modern ecological architecture. This study aims to investigate the meaning and types of vernacular design and confirm the development possibility of this design as the important element of modem regional ecological architecture. In addition, through case studies, it will demonstrate that the regional ecological architecture based on vernacular design can solve new multidimensional architectural problems in the 21st century.

  • The operational concept of control systems on surface combatants has been changed from individual control for each system to integrated control for all systems due to computing technology development and crew reduction policy of navy. The purpose of this study is to identify current status of control technology, to analyze user requirement and to develop an architecture to support the conceptual change of ship control. An architecture, which integrates several control and monitoring systems on naval surface combatant, is proposed. The proposed architecture is focused on sharing network and computing resources related to user command, and reducing systems complexity. The architecture can be adopted to next surface combatants in Korean navy.

  • We need development methodology of security architecture which offered various levels of security management in case of the organization required more than two security certifications. In this study, therefore, development methodology of Multi-level Security Architecture(MLSA) proposed. Specifically, we should consider factors of commonness and difference between information security management level evaluation of multiple security architecture. This kinds of endeavor can suggest the direction of the improvement of the evaluating security management and the dynamic plan for the security architecture, and it will make the continuous and systematic security management.

  • This paper proposes an object-oriented software development guidance and an evaluation index for the productivity related to spring framework 2.5. Non EJB and the EJB architecture to resolve the problem with benefits to support the new architecture is a lightweight container architecture. This architecture, such as the EJB, but not heavy, to provide all of the architecture is possible. The lightweight container architecture is most often used in business spring framework is well-known architecture. Therefore, this research has the Non EJB and the EJB to solve the advantages and disadvantages developed to support the latest spring framework 2.5 lightweight container architecture based on the design and implementation of a pilot system with the objective through the specification of the software previously to provide guidance to development productivity.

  • In Harbin, a network of underground commercial spaces has been developed to occupy spaces that were originally created as civil defense shelters. With the gradual extension of the local metro rail system, the existing underground commercial space is no longer an isolated regional development, but a space that represents "three-dimensional city" and coordinated development taking place in many Chinese cities. Based on the analysis of the unique development process taken in underground space of Harbin, this paper summarizes three characteristics of its early model of "fragmented development" of underground space. By conducting a comprehensive field research and survey, the researchers analyzed 472 questionnaires related to the development trend, and proposed multi-level synergistic elements for the renewal and development of underground commercial space. The paper concludes by discussing the trend of "three-dimensional and collaborative development," suitable for the development needs of the new era, and the corresponding development strategies for the renewal of underground space.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-layered architecture of workflow management systems based on CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture). The system aims to support product development processes in distributed environment. Many companies have started to adopt workflow management systems to manage and support their business processes. However, there are many problems in direct application of those systems to product development environments. These mainly resulted from the dynamic features of product development processes. It is strongly required to support dynamic processes as well as static and procedural ones in an integrated and consistent manner. To meet these requirements, a basic workflow management system has been developed as the core component of the integrated architecture. This performs the basic functions of workflow management system. Second, a dynamic workflow management system based on a bidding mechanism has been developed to manage processes that cannot be easily defined or are likely to be modified, Finally, an SGML workflow management system, which is the third layer in the architecture, has been developed to manage documents processing workflows by integration SGML documents contents and process information into the structured SGML document.
