조선시대 궁궐 편액 복판의 단청 기법 연구 (Analysis of Dancheong Technique Used in the Middle Tablets of the Royal Palace Plaque during the Joseon Period)

  • This study attempted to analyze how dancheong for palace tablets during the Joseon period was designed as related to what plans and what materials were being used. It also investigated how this unique culture formed. The results found the following: First, the tablet dancheong unveiled through literature was designed using diverse techniques such as jinchae and yeokcheongchil. In jinchae, shell powder was applied to the tablet as the first lacquering, and then was colored. Second, in lacquer, maechil, chaesaekchil and jeohyeoptaechil were used. In yeokcheongchil, vegetable black, oil ash and perilla oil were applied to bitumen. Third, during the Joseon Dynasty, dancheong was applied to a tablet after first lacquering just like the danpihoe lacquering of Jiangsu Sheng, China. This tablet dancheong technique was developed based on a unique Korean lacquering culture that had been handed down from ancient times.

신라시대 목탑의 장엄조식(莊嚴彫飾)에 관한 연구 - 문헌을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Severe-Ornament of Wooden Pagodas in Silla Period - Focused on the study of the literature -)

  • This study is to examine the Severe-Ornament (Vyuha :Sanskrit) of wooden pagodas in Shilla period in order to assume a detailed shape of wooden pagodas called the palace style, the multi-story style, the towered namsion style, that were built at the temples in Gyeongju during Shilla period. The Severe-Ornament had been used traditionally by installing a Buddhist image, Guardians, Sarira and by printing a color. The other hand, The roof tiles and tiles were annexed to the Severe-Ornament so as to enhance the value of the wooden pagodas. The Vyuha had been used not only to install a highly valued Buddhist image in the wooden pagodas but also to represent an important part of ritual art of Silla period. Therefore, it was possible to find out a variety of details of the wooden pagodas in Shilla period.

  • Nowdays there needs a lot of nursery facilities for the women those who work. Whit the government promotion policy the quantity of those are progressive. The aim of this study is to upgrade the quality of the nursery with suggesting the architectural interior design criteriors. The criteriors are based on three important points that are children's emotion, body scale and especially their safety. Color, furniture style and qtmosphere are concern-ing about the first. The size of the furniture, urinal and window height etc. are abduy the second. Stair, handrail interval etc. are about the last. I hope that these criteriors will help those who want to design nursery and those children who use the build-ings.

중소도시 개인병원 건축물의 이미지에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Image of the Private Hospital Buildings in Small and Medium-Sized Cities)

  • This study aims to investigate what degree do the hospital buildings carry out their role in regional scenery. To carry out this study the existing theoretical and field survey was conducted to the 44 private hospitals in small and medium-sized cities - Jeonju city, Kunsan city and Iksan city in Jeonlabukdo district. The contents of the survey are the general aspect of the polled, the image of the buildings, that of medical treatment parts, the relations to the regional scenery. And they are questionnaire surveyed to the 44 private hospital buildings. In questionnaire survey, the 35 professional architects who major architecture and related design and 118 citizens who doesn't major architecture are participated. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Those surveyed who answered those private hospital buildings which have their functional images are barely 20%. Some of 27% answered they have images of the commercial building. Especially in professional architects, 5% of them answered thet have their hospital images. It showed that they don't have their identity in the architectural expression in the processof architectural design. 2. The architectural facade elements that express their images in surveyed buildings are answered that architectural building form is 62%, architectural color is 27% and architectural material is 10% in turn. And the architectural elements that express their images in surveyed buildings are answered that building wall is 56%, architectural decoration is 32%. In this article, the reason why the ratio of the architectural decoration is high is that they don' have their identity in building itself. And they expressed their identity by their decoration, sign system not their buildings. 3. As the preference level for their images, some of the 49% of the total surveyed answered common. The general surveyed answered a little preference. But the architect professional group answered preference is 14%, not preference is 29%. The reason of this article is that the general surveyed are familiar with their buildings. So the questionnaire of the harmony with the surrounding scenery, 25% of the general surveyed answered that they are in harmony with surrounding but 22% of them answered that they are not in them. But In professional group, they answered 6% oh them are positive 37% of them are negative. This results suggests that the identity of the private hospital buildings are established in the process of archiectural design.

표면 착색용 산화제를 사용한 컬러 콘크리트의 표면 특성 (Surface Properties of Color Concrete Using Acid Stained Agent)

  • 콘크리트는 건축물을 구성하는 가장 중요한 재료이지만, 단순한 색상에 의해서 도시 경관을 손상시키는 주요 요인으로 인식되어 왔다. 콘크리트의 이러한 제한점을 개선하기 위하여 안료를 사용하거나 페인팅의 방법에 의해 다양한 색상을 구현하고 있지만, 안료의 사용은 비용 상승을 유발하고 페인트의 경우에는 내구적인 피막을 얻는 것이 어렵다. 최근 콘크리트의 컬러화 방안으로서 착색용 산화제를 사용하는 것이 제안되고 있지만, 사용한 경험이 부족하여 안정적 사용을 위한 체계적인 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 착색용 산화제는 금속이온을 함유한 산성계열의 용액으로 콘크리트 부재에 도포하여 색상을 구현한다. 용액은 Cl성분을 바탕으로 갈색은 Fe, 흑색은 Mn과 Cr, 녹색은 Cu, 적색은 Fe와 Cr이 함유되어 있다. 착색용 산화제는 일시적인 도포로 매우 얇은 착색층을 형성시켜 컬러를 구현하는 것으로, 비교적 용이하게 색상을 구현하는 것이 가능하다. 이 연구는 착색용 산화제를 모르타르 표면에 도포하여 구현된 색상의 특성과 색상을 나타내는 피막의 미세 구조 및 화학적 조성을 검토하였다. 색상은 자연스러운 얼룩의 형태이다. 표면의 변화는 육안으로 확인할 수 없었지만, 미세 구조는 거칠어 졌으며 수화 생성물의 결정인 수산화칼슘과 C-S-H 겔을 관찰할 수 있었다. 표면 거칠기는 산술 평균 거칠기와 단면 굴곡 모두 동일하게 증가하였다. 표면경도는 도포하지 않은 경우와 비교하여 유사하거나 높다. pH는 모르타르에 대해 약 10% 저하된다. 화학적 구성은 모르타르의 원소인 Ca, Si, Al은 감소하고, 시멘트에 함유되어 있지 않는 Mn, Cr, Cu가 생성되고, Fe와 알칼리 원소인 K 및 Na는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

역사·문화 가로경관의 구성요소 및 색채특성 연구 - 중국 카이펑시 (中国 開封市) 서점거리를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Components and Color Characteristics of the Streetscape of History·Culture Streets - Focused on the Bookstore Street in Kaifeng, China -)

  • 본 연구에서는 카이펑 시 역사 문화거리인 서점거리를 대상으로 서점거리의 경관 구성 요소에 나타난 경관 색채의 특징을 분석하여 서점거en리의 환경 색채에 대한 전체성을 이론적 배경을 제공하고자 한다. 문헌 고찰을 통해 역사 문화거리의 경관 구성요소에 대한 체크리스트를 도출하고, 청대 건축적 색채의 일반적인 특징과 경관 색채의 기본적인 분석방법에 대해 파악하였다. 또한, 서점거리 경관 구성의 요소 및 경관 색채에 대한 현장조사를 실시하고 색채 분석은 <한국표준색 색채분석> 프로그램을 적용하여 분석을 진행하였으며, 색상수치 표기는 먼셀 표색계를 사용하여 표기하였다. 연구 결과를 보게 되면 서점거리의 경관색채는 R계열, PB계열, Y계열, 무채색(N)계열로 구성되어 있으며 전체적으로 색채는 높은 전체성을 나타내었다. 청대 건축 색채의 일반적인 특성을 비교함으로써 서점거리의 전체적인 경관 색채는 청대 건축 색채의 일반적인 특성에 상당 부분 부합한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 사인과 시설물, 조형물의 색채 활용에서는 미흡한 부분이 많이 존재하였기에 사인과 시설물 등 경관 요소의 색채계획을 추가하여 시각 정보의 식별 가능성을 강화하고 거리 색채의 단계적인 변화를 증가시켜야 할 필요성이 요구된다.

로드코의 로드코 채플과 펠드만의 로드코 채플에서의 숭고성 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Sublimity expressed by Rothko and Feldman respectively in their works of Rothko Chapel)

  • The sublime as one of categories of aesthetics has given a great influence over art. Particularly, painters of Color-field Abstract, which can be considered as the art of the sublime, have tried to sublimate their art to the level of spirituality through expression of sublimity. The purpose of this study is to grasp distinctive peculiarities of sublimity expressed by Rothko, a Color-field painter, in his architectural work, Rothko Chapel, and manifested by Feldman through his musical piece, also titled Rothko Chapel, respectively.In conclusion, it is found that sublimity was expressed in both works through ‘immobile procession’ corresponding to ‘dualism’ of the sublime as Kant defined. More specifically, it is clarified that such immobility was expressed through the attributes of the sublime as suggested by Burke, and they implied dualism.

Open Space Design Elements and Social Support Design In Healing Facilities

  • This study suggested the environmental components for open space in a healing environment based on the social support approach for integrating and enhancing users' activities and interactions. The physical environments of the open space in healing facilities should be suggested by social support design and support the interactions of various users. Particularly architectural environment conditions should reinforce the contribution to the revitalization of medical facilities based on improving the healing effect of patients through mutual exchange of users. The open space environment conditions influence users' healing process with physical design factors and users' interactions, and the flexible environments based on the social support that is crucial for circulation and mutual exchange of users. The open space transformation, integration of technology, and wayfinding system with color and signage also allow users to improve the space experience and easy access. The environmental components of open space design should include easy access for user inflow, flexible layout for comfort, access to outdoor spaces, integration of warm color schemes for relaxation, personalization of spaces with artwork, and visual interest through the use of textures and materials.

근대이후(近代以後) 구미(歐美)의 건축설계경기(建築設計競技)에 대한 연구(硏究) (A study on the modern architectural design competition of Europe and America)

  • This paper aims to study on the periodical competition, the program, the jury organization, the reward, and copyright applied to the buildings which were constructed with architectural design competition performed in European and American region between 19c and 20c. The results of this study are as follows; 1. Befor 1900 Period, the type of buildings added to the competition program; between 1900 period and 1950 period, the works of strong nationality and rich local color were preferred; After 1950 period, the design drawings of high symbol and function were chosen 2. There are three types of design competitions: the open design competition, the invited and limited design competition, and the idea design competition. The open design competition has been most often made. 3. The juries were, most of all, composed of professional architects over 30 percent. 4. The program was written about building scale and appointments, described what form drawings, brief notes and air perspective wood have to be submitted. For instance, the use of colour was not permitted in the drawings, as this might possibly mislead the jurors. 5. The reward was given to the winners; the copyright was given to the first prize winner. 6. The standard of entry's qualification was mostly architect 7, Entry term was from a minimum month to a maximum year after annoncement of competition, it was approximetly 63% between 4 months and 8 months. I am convinced that architect gets freedom of pure creation and joy of society service through competition, architect justifies his profession and keep his useful and creative effort to society constantly, as long as the competition exists.
