  • As a way of decreasing trial and error that can occur in design, we investigated many kinds of material information and image information. We apprehended structures of material database and image database to suggest one of design method that provides information by connecting both databases. This has potentiality to improve the quality of design. Ultimately, this potentiality makes a great contribution towards strengthening competitiveness in design.

A Study on the Relationship Between Emotion and Behavior of User's with the Color Images of Indoor Space in Hotels (호텔 실내공간 색채이미지에 대한 이용자의 감정과 행동의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze relationship between emotion and behavior with the color images of indoor space in hotels. The study methods evaluation experiments of emotion and behavior with computer graphic images. Study results are as follows: First, The color image according to the indoor space had a significant influence on the user's emotions. Lobby and restaurant had difference in pleasure arousal emotion by color image, and also guest room had difference in pleasure dominance emotion by color image. Second, The color image according to the indoor space had a significant influence on the user's behavior. Also lobby and restaurant had difference in movement hobby eating resting behavior by color image, and guest room had difference in hobby eating resting behavior by color image. Third, As a result of analyzing the effect of user's emotions on the behavior according to the indoor space: In the lobby, the more un-arousal increasing of users, the more hobby resting behavior increasing. And the more dominance increasing of users, the more movement hobby eating resting behavior increasing. In the restaurant, the more dominance increasing of users, the more movement eating hobby behavior increasing. The more arousal increasing of users, the more movement resting behavior increasing. The more un-arousal increasing of users, the more hobby eating behavior increasing. In the guest room, the more un-arousal dominance increasing of users, the more hobby eating resting behavior increasing. And also the more arousal increasing of users, the more movement behavior increasing.

  • The aim of this study is to propose the predictive index and analyze the effect of lightsources and colour image types in the residence and office interior.This study was consisted of four steps, and was carried out as follows. 1) The condition of experiment was set up by optical characteristic of lightsources and colours. 2) The scaled model space was manufactured for the evaluation of the same condition by each space. And, some piece of furniture was manufactured for the representation of each space. 3) The emotivity response of lightsources and colours was measured. 4) Results of the evaluation of lightsources and colours were compared and analyzed by conditions, and the predictive index was proposed by image types.

  • This study is to examine the Severe-Ornament (Vyuha :Sanskrit) of wooden pagodas in Shilla period in order to assume a detailed shape of wooden pagodas called the palace style, the multi-story style, the towered namsion style, that were built at the temples in Gyeongju during Shilla period. The Severe-Ornament had been used traditionally by installing a Buddhist image, Guardians, Sarira and by printing a color. The other hand, The roof tiles and tiles were annexed to the Severe-Ornament so as to enhance the value of the wooden pagodas. The Vyuha had been used not only to install a highly valued Buddhist image in the wooden pagodas but also to represent an important part of ritual art of Silla period. Therefore, it was possible to find out a variety of details of the wooden pagodas in Shilla period.

Sky Condition Analysis using the Processing of Digital Images (디지털 이미지 처리를 통한 천공상태 분석)

  • The accurate analysis of the outside sky conditions is necessary to increase the efficiency of blind PV system. To conduct the accurate analysis, this paper suggested a method to analyze the sky condition using a specific image processing technique. While a fisheye lens has a wide field-of-views, it causes a large distortion to the sky images. Therefore, this paper calculated the exchange ratio of sky images to consider a lens distortion. As results of the study, there was a difference of 7% to cloud area ratio F4 and F11. Also, it had a different result depending on the position of the cloud.

  • Identifying waterbody from remote sensing images, namely water detection, helps understand continuous redistribution of terrestrial water storage and accompanying hydrological processes. It also allows us to estimate available surface water resources and help effective water management. For this problem, NDWI (Normalized Difference Water Index) and MNDWI (Modified Normalized Difference Water Index) are widely used. Although remote sensing indexes can highlight remote sensing image in the water, the noise and the spatial information of the remote sensing image are difficult to be considered, so the accuracy is difficult to be compared with the visual interpretation (the most accurate method, but it requires a lot of labor, which makes it difficult to apply). In this study, we attempt to improve existing NDWI and MNDWI to better water detection. We establish waterbody database of South Korea first and then used it for assessing waterbody indices.

  • This study maintains that settlement and dwelling system reflects socio-cultural value of the people to express their image of ideal-life and intrinsic way of life. To demonstrate it, the study is conducted on a cross-cultural perspective. Through the study, it is shown that the character and content of the settlement and dwelling system is largely generated by the result of a choice among possible alternatives, which provides the theoretical base of the settlement and dwelling system.

  • In part 1, the image common to Jingu′s shrines can be represented as "strict" and "beautiful", regardless of their age. The image changed from gorgeous/orderly to modest/disorderly with times. In part 2, the image was considered on the characters of those architecture′s members and elements. The conclusion is as fellows; 1. The members that strongly influenced on the image of "strict" is a roof with it′s shape and color. 2. The decrease of lightness, yellowness and luster of members changed the image of architecture, from "gorgeous" to "modest". 3. Because of "Sabi" made from "modest", Jingu′s shrines look "beautiful".

  • The construction industry has made great strides in the past decades by utilizing computer programs including CAD. However, compared to other manufacturing sectors, labor productivity is low due to the high proportion of workers' knowledge-based task in addition to simple repetitive task. Therefore, the knowledge-based task efficiency of workers should be improved by recognizing the visual information of computers. A computer needs a lot of training data, such as the ImageNet project, to recognize visual information. This study, aim at proposing building facade datasets that is efficiently constructed by quickly collecting building facade data through portal site road view and automatically labeling using deep learning as part of construction of image dataset for visual recognition construction by the computer. As a method proposed in this study, we constructed a dataset for a part of Dongseong-ro, Daegu Metropolitan City and analyzed the utility and reliability of the dataset. Through this, it was confirmed that the computer could extract the significant facade information of the portal site road view by recognizing the visual information of the building facade image. Additionally, In contribution to verifying the feasibility of building construction image datasets. this study suggests the possibility of securing quantitative and qualitative facade design knowledge by extracting the facade design knowledge from any facade all over the world.
